PM went to the gym with Liz & Linda (running, bike and working legs) 1hour 34mins 782 cals 50% fat hrm 179 max 131 avg

Curiosity got the better of me again and I decided to wear my heart rate monitor to work at the Dementia club for the day so that I could compare it to working at the bank!!! - so for all of those as curious as me:
The Bank 8am - 7pm 1,441 cals 60% fat 146 max 77 avg
The Dementia Club 8am - 7pm 1,852 cals 60% fat 153 max 82 avg
INTER-ESTING.....

Goal: As with last week this worked out amazingly well! Chewie got her walk, I got in strength all before work; then I caught up on my soaps and with my friends in the evening! -I have arranged to do the same again tomorrow! (as in Mon 9th Nov!)

Tuesday: AM spinning class emoticon (Yolande was missing again (instructor) but Katrina did it and she's great -sings along to the songs! lol!) 52 minutes 476 cals 45% fat hrm- 170 max 137 avg
I was still EXHAUSTED, the eyelids were closing as I rode!

Goal: I am going to arrange for a PM workout for tuesday 10th!

Wedneday: AM went to the gym with Liz, this time doing the Treadclimber and working on the Chest 50minutes, 396 cals 50% fat 165 max 127 avg

Goal: The planned workouts for strength seem to be working, I'm not all over the place! Keep this up!!!

Thursday: AM spinning emoticon (Andy was back, Woohoo! He was apparantly injured! Oh no!) 54 mins 494 cals 45% fat hrm- 173 max 140 avg

Friday: AM circuits ( Ian was instructor again) I did a little bit extra after the class too! What a Veteran! 1 hour 11 mins 651 cals 45% hrm -186 max 138 avg

Took Chewie for a walk/ run (she gave naughtiness on this walk!) after dropping the car off at the garage (needed a new timing belt! yikes!) 26 mins 264 cals 45% fat hrm- 177 max 144 avg

Goal: Keep up with Circuits at least until the end of the year. Its TOUGH but brings results!

Saturday: Well I had to get my car back somehow! Me and Chewie ran down to get it! 19 mins 203 cals 40% fat hrm -181 max 150 avg Then I did the SPARK 10 minute crunchless core video and SPARK 15 mins Abs video (wow they kicked my butt!) 25 mins 168 cals 60% fat hrm -143 max 118 avg

Goal: These planned strength sessions mean that I am doing my whole body without missing bits out! Keep with the planning!

Sunday (day of rest): Walk with Chewie and Stephen 43mins 147 cals 60% fat hrm- 132 max 90 avg (Chewie was soooo well behaved, didn't even try to go to any other dogs today, pleasantly surprised!)

Goal: Remember my day of rest, not to over do it! A stroll on a sunday is enough for me!

Foodwise: I had quite a few nights out, but on the whole either made healthy decisions or amped up the exercise to counter it! Sunday at the in-laws involved a fair bit of overeating and breaking my own snacking promises but hey, it gives me something to work on! We can't always be good! ;-)

Goal: snacking at the in-laws!!!! Stop it! Lol!

Future goals:

Still need to give Yoga another try! -still haven't done yet, there is a new yoga class on at the gym but it is on a wednesday at 11:30 am! Who's available for that! I'll keep my eye on it though!
Limit hidden salt intake -Just not happening, I try, but it doesnt work!
Increase and be more consistent with strength training -I'm planning the exercises that I do and it seems to be working (I think I'm gonna need to be one of those gym guys who have the little note pad with everything jotted down! Eeek!!!
Plan exercise for the week -Yep! This works really well so I'm gonna give it another try!
To do: I pledge to do a SPARK abs video once a week (12 minute pilates abs; 15 mins abs; or 9 mins abs bootcamp) -Done! Did the bootcamp, pilates thighs, crunchless core and 15 mins abs! Woohoo!

Xmas goal: To be 200lbs

End of October goal: 212lbs (a loss of 6lbs) -I didnt make this goal (2lbs shy) but I'll make a mid month goal for November 10th of 210lbs (a 4 lbs loss) to keep me on track. -Still heading towards this one!

Oh yeah! One of the gym instructors asked if I wanted to do the Edinburgh marathon! WOW! I said no, so she offerred me the Marathon relay team and I said that I would think about it! I'm pondering as I speak! Will I be at least able to do a 10k?!?!?!

Wow! You are really dedicated to your exercise regime! Congratulations!! My daughter started running regularly about 4 years ago when she was carrying excess weight and has worked up from 2km 3 times a week to doing 10k, half marathons, a marathon and has now got a place in the 2010 London Marathon so she can run along side her husband. She also does cross country and has just recently completed The Cisco European challenge in Tromso, Norway with a team from Scottish Water. (They raised £13K for WaterAid in the process). She looks great, feels good and really enjoys her running. So go for the 10K - but you need to train consistently beforehand according to the words of wisdom she gives me. I am not a runner-more a gentle walker! I saw her finish her first 10K -not quite the last to return to base at Aviemore but so elated to have completed the course.

Looks like you've had a really good week! You should do the race, you'd be fab, maybe not so good without your sidekick Chewie, but still good lol

Yesterday Yay, Toaday Nay!

Saturday, November 07, 2009

Obviously yesterday's brilliant day was too good to be true!

I got in to work this morning and O M G!
First the bakers were running late so they were not open before work, so us bank workers got NO BREAKFAST Aaaaaahhhhhh (having already been on a run with the dog, I was already starving!)
Then my very first customer thought it would be 'funny' to bring in 29 cheques! 29!!!!! (now it takes approx 2 minutes to put in 1 cheque and probaby 20 seconds for each subsequent cheque... ) The cheques were dated from the middle of October!!!! Why did she feel the need to hoard them?!!?!? Anywho, as she stood there waiting on her cheques to be put in the queues began to build up behind her! The queue was out the blooming door!!!!
This customer was then followed by one who thought it 'funny' to bring almost £200 in small change!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why? Why would somebody do this to me? I have to count the bloody things!
Customer number 3 shouted at me for "being too slow" as she was illegally parked.... duh, park legally you stupid woman! It's not my fault! And because she was in such a hurry, she asked me to do the wrong thing and once it was all done she said she never asked that!!!
Each subsequent customer was a moaner, yes they just came in to MOAN!
And then my computer decided to play up and crash during every third or so transcation!
There was more than 1 occasion that I needed to walk away and take a few deep breaths before returning!
Needless to say, by the end of the day my cash was all out and no paperwork had been done, so we were almost 2 hours late to leave (and NO I DONT GET PAID FOR STAYING LATE!)

So by this time it's mid afternoon and I have not eaten a thing! McDonalds called... and I came! A quarter pounder with cheese meal (LARGE!) later and I was no longer hungry (definately thirsty though, salty salty salty!)

So my good day yesterday, was followed by a BAD day today! Sods law!

I can report though that my dinner was a lot healthier - mackerel, rice and vegetables with water to drink.

I'm with Rachelrees2- well done for getting back on the wagon, or as I like to say, "getting back on the horse." It's easy for me to binge once I have made one bad choice, so I am impressed with your great dinner selection.

Blessings,

Couldn't keep my eyes open!

Thursday, November 05, 2009

I went to spinning this morning and my usual instructor was back which was great; but I was soooo exhausted! I was just about falling asleep whilst on the bike! Standing!

I thought this may be the case (being up so early and all) so I had a glass of milk with some whey protein, an apple and a teaspoon of peanut butter (which is yuk!) but I thought this would be a good snack to eat -its too close to exercise to eat an actual breakfast!

Any ideas on pre workout/ and morning snacks?

ok this is me being completely dull now but what exactly is 'spinning'? i have heard of it but never had the courage to ask what it is lol.....
i found that 'oat so simple' (you measure out the milk in the actual sachet) a satisfying breakfast before exercising it doesnt leave me feeling as tho iv ate anything but as the morning goes on it does the job!!!Rach x

Yas, try a half cup of oats with a banana, with your protein in a soymilk smoothie. LOL! I do like PB so I do sneak a little of that in and having one today.

You might try roasting Garbanzo beans, hummus with celery or an apple, pears are in season around here, unsalted almonds, and/or high fiber crackers, which I like with grapes and some Greek Yogurt.

I rarely do Peanut butter myself. I will eat 1 or 2 bananas and a carb bar. Also an energy shot to give me a boost if I can't have coffee that day.

You are one of the first people on this site that I have heard say they don't like peanut butter. I've never tried it *Gasp* but I said to myself that I will because everyone raves about it so much, i'm not sure now though haha.
You seem to be tired lately, are you resting enough ?? Good job on getting up so early and doing the class though!

Healthy choices

Wednesday, November 04, 2009

I went out to dinner tonight and there was all sorts of things on the menu... I would normally have gone for a burger and chips or sausages and chips or just about anything and chips!!!!

But no. I didnt fancy any of those (evenn though I was out and treating myself really...) instead, I had a delicious meal of grilled chicken skewers with bell peppers; rice; roasted veg and low fat lemon and garlic yoghurt!

I don't feel cheated, I felt like I had a lovely night out, with lovely company and last but not least a lovely meal!
