Beautiful Words

Tuesday, June 14, 2011

Someone has written these beautiful words. Must read and try to understand the deep meaning of it. They are like the ten commandments to follow in life all the time.

1] Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble, but it is a "steering wheel" that directs the right path throughout.

2] So why is a Car's WINDSHIELD so large & the Rear view Mirror is so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, Look Ahead and Move on.

3] Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write.

4] All things in life are temporary. If going well, enjoy it, they will not last forever. If going wrong, don't worry, they can't last long either.

5] Old Friends are Gold! New Friends are Diamond! If you get a Diamond, don't forget the Gold! Because to hold a Diamond, you always need a Base of Gold!

6] Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, GOD smiles from above and says, "Relax, sweetheart, it's just a bend, not the end!

7] When GOD solves your problems, you have faith in HIS abilities; when GOD doesn't solve your problems HE has faith in your abilities.

8] A blind person asked St. Anthony: "Can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?" He replied: "Yes, losing your vision!"

9] When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them, and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you.

10] WORRYING does not take away tomorrow's TROUBLES, it takes away today's PEACE.

If you really enjoy this, please pass to others. It may brighten someone's day...

'IN GOD WE TRUST'

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass; It's about learning to dance in the rain!

"Be who you are and say what you feel....
Because those that matter don't mind...
And those that mind don't matter."

Still Trackin'

Monday, June 13, 2011

Just a quick note to let all know that I am still staying on track. It has been 25 days now so I am truly on a roll.
The temptations are still there and sometimes it is really hard. But then I think of my spark friends and how I don't want to be a bad influence and I turn my back. Some temptations are harder than others. Like the movie popcorn when I am eating grapes and everyone around me in the theater is eating popcorn. Then in the Wal-Mart parking lot yesterday someone had spilled a bunch of popcorn and there the temptation was staring me in the face again. No, I didn't get down on my knees to eat any of it. LOL But it was staring at me when I got out of the car and again when I came back and got in the car.
Tracking my nutrition on the tracker is one of the greatest helps for me. When it comes time for the evening meal, I check to be sure how many calories I have left to use and many times post what I am going to eat so I don't risk going over. And I am still trying to balance the carbs, fat/protein. I am doing better with the protein, thanks to the Greek yogurt.
I will get there. I am not in a hurry!!

Thats great Arlene... I find tracking my foods really helps me.. if I don't then I mess up my math in my head and I over eat.. or I think one bite.. you know the rest...LOL
Have you thought of air popped corn?? its really low in calories.. just a bit bland.. worth experimenting with..
I worked on getting my balance in my nutrition and the more I worked on it the better it got.. it was kinda fun tweeking what I was going to eat and how much so I would get a perfect balance.. the last few days I have been right on... thats always nice.. Do you look at the pie at the bottom of your nutrition page?? thats what I look at.. its great when they look the same...

Slippery Tracks

Monday, June 06, 2011

Well, I think there has been an ice storm as the 'tracks' are becoming a tad slippery. When I got back on track about three weeks ago, I had been out of control for what seemed like forever. So getting back on track worked real fast to get rid of those 'more recent put on' pounds. And I did get rid of them quite quickly. But now I am working on the 'put on over a matter of months' pounds and I have to realize that they won't come off as fast.
But though the 'tracks' are slippery, my engine is prepared and I will not get derailed.
I have learned over the past three weeks that food does not have to rule my life. I can eat or not eat. I can walk away from unhealthy foods. I can say "no" to parties and eating out.
Those are all the things that are going to keep me on track. I cannot expect to lose over night what I had gained over six months. But I can know that I will lose it all, over time. And that keeps me completely on track.
So I am still on a roll even though the results are slower coming.
