Today is the end of the first week of the PAT. I am hoping that everyone did well. But as long as you did your best, that is all that counts. I don't know what will happen when I step onto the scales in the morning but whatever it says, I am not going to fret. There will still be four more weeks of this challenge and then another challenge after that and another and another and so on down the road. How can we not eventually reach our goals with so many Sparkers lifting us up each and every day.
A big WOO HOO to the Ruby Lites. They are THE BEST!!

School is going to start next week. When I was a kid, the first day was a half day the day after Labor Day. Now they start in the middle of August. Even earlier for year around schools. I guess most kids are ready for it to start as they get bored. That's a big difference of then and now. We never got bored even though we didn't have TV (yes, I am that old) nor did we have video games, computers, etc... We used our imagination to keep ourselves from getting bored.
My grand daughter, that I keep while her mom works, will be going into the seventh grade. When did she grow up??? So now I will be able to concentrate more on 'me'. Hopefully going back to water aerobics, fixing better things to eat, just getting fully back on track. Sometimes hard to do that when I had to share time on the computer with her. LOL
So this new challenge, the Rootin' For Ruby's Second Annual Labor Day Pound-A-Thon, could not have come at a better time. By the way, that's quite a mouthful, right?? Doesn't leave much room in your mouth for bad food.
So we are going to do it!! Not competitively, but by helping each other along the way to better health. Slow and steady is the way!!

I have lost a lot of weight a lot of times!! How many of us can say that? That makes me a yo yo dieter. About eight years ago I lost quite a bit of weight over a few months. Getting on the scales every week to watch it go down. Then, as in the past, I stopped the 'diet', though I continued to get on the scales every week and watched it go back up. As I look back on that now, I have to ask myself, "how stupid was that?"
Then I found Sparks. For one thing, I have been at it for about 16 months. A record for me as 3 months was my limit before. And I have lost even more than I had in the past.
But no one is perfect and that includes me. Over the past month or so, I was still getting on the scales every week and suddenly it started going in the wrong direction. I gave myself a very serious talking to. And with the Sparks way of 'life style change' and my precious spark friends, I was able to bring that trend to a quick stop.
I can now say with complete assurance that I will never again be a yo yo dieter/fool and let it all come back plus some. Yes, I may slip now and again but the reality check will put me back on the right track. Without Sparks and my spark friends, that could never have happened.
I can never express enough my thanks to those who have walked beside me on this journey, who picked me up when I fell, who encouraged me when I slipped.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

What is the PAT? It is short for the Rootin' For Ruby's Second Annual Labor Day Pound-A-Thon. See why we shorten the title? LOL It is in full swing and already so much fun. Today there was a food fight all over the place. That was really fun. Hadn't done that since my school days. And we didn't even get into any trouble doing it here. Isn't cyber stuff fun??
The PAT is a team that is divided into smaller teams, which gives us all a chance to get better acquainted with out spark team mates. Together we can do this. To try to do it alone is just no fun and sometimes not at all successful.
Go Georgia Peaches!! That is MY team!! And a fine bunch of gals they are!!

Georgia Peaches are so versatile. They are sweet, you just love them to pieces, you like having them around. And when they aren't part of a Pound-A-Thon challenge, why you can even cook with them. But most of all, I just love my team of Georgia Peaches. On this challenge, we are going to be so great we will surprise ourselves.
Go Georgia Peaches!!
