Thanksgiving Week

Sunday, December 01, 2013

Well Thanksgiving has come and gone. I decided to not count my calories on Thanksigiving (because I did not want to spend all day using the recipe calculator) to figure out most of the items. i did however, tried to watch my portions and eat as well as i could., When I weighed in on Friday, I had lost .6 pounds. It's the first loss I've had in over a month so I'll take it.

I went on Saturday and did some clothes shopping. I've been trying really hard to not buy any new clothes because I want to be down a few sizes but I really needed a few new things for work and for winter. I ended up getting a new pair of knee high boots, a sweater dress, some leggings, a new shirt and a new pair of jeans. I'm really excited about a sweater dress. The last dress I wore was my wedidng dress 7 years ago.

my plan is to go get my hair cut and trimmed this weekend, switch to contacts and buy some make up so when I go back to work on Sunday/Monday I'll look more like a girl :P I think taking some time and taking care of my appearance will go a long way with my weight loss as well.

Sounds like quite a successful shopping trip! I love sweater dresses and leggings. It's like going to work in pajamas- it's great!

Plans for December

Monday, November 25, 2013

I'm really excited. I went to breakfast at Subway today because I was already out running errands and saw their December special is going to be a 6 inch Meatball Marinara SAndwich for just 2.00! That's a lot cheaper than I can usually make meals so I think I'll be getting a lot of those over December!

Make sure you know the nutritional value. We don't have Subway anywhere near our town and I don't think I've ever seen one (I'm in the UK)

I Dream Big then I don't fulfill

Sunday, November 24, 2013

Well, it's been 2 months since my last blog on here, two months since my last forum post, two months since anything. What do I have to show for it? 12 pounds of weight gain. Back at the end of August, I was so close to my 350 mark, and now i'm getting closer and closer to being back at 370 again. I stopped tracking my calories all the time, I started having more and more bad days and finally just stopped caring all together. I kept telling myself, Oh I'll eat really bad today and really enjoy it then start over tomorrow. Then I would wake up and tomorrow would be Thursday and Thursday would be Monday and then the weeks would become months. Mike and I have talked in detail about wanting to lose weight. I hate the working out aspect of it and he hates the nutrition side of it. So I think we are going to start putting our heads together. My big problem with weight loss and life in general is I have big dreams. I aspire to these great things (like 80 pounds September 1st at 10 pounds a month) but then I do not want to put the work into it to get those goals met. The same is for our life. I want our house to stay really clean, but I don't want to put the work into it. I want to go out and do things with my friends, but I don't want to call them to make plans.

The best thing I can do is just to start over and make each day count. I've finally figured out a lot of the work food stuff. I have discovered a way to have taco salad (my favorite food) for about 450 calories a meal so I end up making taco meat at the beginning of my work week an having taco salad every day. This week for my other meal I'm adding in roast beef sandwiches. I'm ready for Thanksgiving but just have to be careful with all of the desserts.

emoticon I understand how you feel. and that's why we're here- so when it's hard or you're feeling unmotivated, you can come vent and hopefully pull it back! Just put the everything behind you and take it a day at a time, and pretty soon you'll start seeing results, physically and mentally! Good luck, and if you need an ear, I'm always more than happy to listen.

So glad you have decided to come back. Setting goals is good, but make them small. 5 pounds in 8 weeks is more manageable, and you might do it in less. What a great boost that would be.

Shout out if you need help

Great News Last Week

Tuesday, September 24, 2013

I got my latest lab results back last week. My A1C level has dropped down to 6.0 which puts me in the Pre-Diabetes zone again! Woot! I'm so excited. It really was what I needed to put my butt back into gear. I've done good the last two days and have been under my calorie goal. My hubby and I had a long chat about working out with the gym, and my 12 hour work schedule. I go to nights next week and I think we have decided for now we are going to focus on working out on the days off and then I'll get the days I work to rest. Maybe we'll revisit this in a month or so. Right now it's more important that I'm at least going.

emoticon So happy for you to get such good lab results back! Your plan for getting your exercise in sounds good. You can see how the new schedule is and then decide if you can add more in later. Keep going strong!

Day 3

Monday, August 12, 2013

I think I'm trying to get on and blog everyday. I'm sorry for my readers because I do not lead the most exciting life. Today was a good day. I did not get to the gym last night; however, I made sure to get it in today. We did a lot of fun strength training work outs and then swam for 20 minutes. i've decided to just really focus on my calories, drinking my water, bloggin and getting my strength training in. At the end of August, first of September, my television shows all start up again. My hubby and I have made a promise to ourselves to start watching our television shows while we are at the gym. This way, we are being productive while still getting to watch TV. I'll go sit on the recumbent bike with my Glee or Grey's Anatomy while he goes on the elliptical and watches his youtube instructional videos.

I've started crocheting again. I'm making a blanket for my mom for Christmas. I tried a new receipe in the crock pot today. It was just chicken, baby carrots, baby potatoes with chicken broth and thyme. I added a little bit of onion and garlic and oregano and it was awesome! It's my last week on nights then I go back to Day's next week. I also have a house inspection in a week for my lease renewal at the house we are renting. Busy week ahead with only 2 days off this week :(

Until next time,

Who needs excitement? I think the main reason to blog is just to get some thoughts down. The act of writing seems to crystalize thoughts in a different way.G K Chesterton said 'There is no such thing as an uninteresting subject; the only thing that can exist is an uninterested person.'

Keep writing.
