Day 2

Saturday, August 10, 2013

So far so good today. I had to work a 12 hour day shift in the middle of all my night shifts to help out a co worker so I'm worried a little bit about my eating today because I have to stay up all night. So to make up for it, I am putting in a full 40 minute Cardio swim time at the gym after work. I'm also going to watch and make sure I don't "bored" snack either.

First day back on the Weight Loss Road

Thursday, August 08, 2013

So, I'm still on nights at work. I got up at about 2:30pm, didn't even get on my computer, just started to get ready to go to the gym. Headed to the gym and did some strength training and went to the pool for about 20 minutes. I kept my heart rate up the whole time. Grabbed some Subway on the way home for breakfast and then took a shower. I got to get on the computer for about 30 minutes when I was done with everything. I have food for dinner tonight with some healthy snacks. All in all, not a bad way to start my first day back. Tomorrow I have plans to mow the back yard.

Really proud of myself today! Just have to keep the momentum going!

Everything is out of Control

Thursday, August 08, 2013

So I thought about something this week. From the first of February to the First of May, I lost 25 pounds. From the First of May until the first of August, I've lost 3 pounds. Why? Because I've lost whatever focus and whatever drive I had before. I enjoy eating junky, bad for me food. I hate feeling guilty and I don't like going to the gym. But before May, I enjoyed the gym. I loved the feeling of eating food that is good for me. I don't know what has really changed but I know I'm hungry most of the time. Nothing seems to fill me up and I'm eating a lot more. over the last 3 days, I've ate at least 1000 calories over my 2000 daily every day. That's a whole pound of extra gain! I don't know if it's the change in my work schedule or the monopoly game back at McDonalds. My hubby and I just bought Just Dance 4 to try out. So maybe that will help. I told him tomorrow I want to go to the gym, rain snow sleet or hail. At least on the bright side, I haven't gained all the weight back, but if I want to lose more weight, then focus again I must.

I don't think you're alone in this. I think a lot of us start to see progress (congrats on the 27lbs so far!!!) and then start to wane or think "Well, I already lost X amount, I can be happy here" without remember the solid goal we originally set for ourselves. Maybe go back to the basics- small changes everyday like drinking your water, logging calories regardless of what you eat and blogging on your feelings. Remember why you started in February and DON'T GIVE UP! We all wax and wane a little but you can do it!

One day at a time. Once you get back on track I bet you will lose well again. Focus on the goal.

Back to Work

Thursday, August 01, 2013

Well two weeks off of work was just a great vacation. However, I'm on nights for the next three weeks (with one day shift thrown in the middle) because I like to volunteer. So my schedule is completely out of whack. However, I'm back on track with my goals again. I went over my calories most days while on vacation but tried to make sure I was active. I noticied little things on the trip (mostly that I could go up and down one flight of stairs without being too winded) and big things (no seat belt extended on flight). Even though I'm still wearing the same clothes, things are starting to get more loose with each passing week. The jean shorts I bought in March are starting to become looser on me. When I hit the scale on Monday morning, over the last two weeks I had gained 2.6 pounds. Overall, in the grand scheme of things, not too bad but just need to focus again. Did a lot of cleaning over the last week and ready to re-focus again!

Back home

Sunday, July 28, 2013

Well vacation is over and it's time once again to re-focus on me and my health. However, I no longer need any motivation!!! I am happy to report on both the flight to Minneapolis and the flight home - I no longer require a SEAT BELT EXTENDER!!! Best NSV ever!
