I am very discouraged this morning..... I work out alot inhopes that as I Lose this weight I can tone it up enough to avoid the tummy tuck and arm lift... and i recently posted the question on themessage boards is it possible to do this...... .everyone has told to me to get prepared for surgery...... I dont want surgery but I dont want bat wings or a extra skin hanging off my tummy either..... maybe its better to be fat at least the fat fits my skin.... but I dont want to be fat either I like the new me I am becoming and I like being healthy.....

I agree tal; to ur dr. and see what he says. Ur doing great and u what to get get healthy and ur doing that. I also don't want extra skin , I don't think any of us what it but I too think all we can do is do our best as we loss and see what we look like when we're at our goal. Luck to all of us that we don't have that darn extra skin to deal with emoticon

I feel as long as u feel better then u did before that's what matters. emoticon

Remember one of the reasons you are losing weight is to improve your health. Try to remember this when you get discouraged. Give yourself the gift of time.......

Try not to think about those things that may come in the future. Concentrate on what you need to do now. Everything else will fall into place as it should. Celebrate the accomplishments you have already achieved. You are doing great!

Don't be discouraged! You are doing awesome and you are pretty young yet. I would get an opinion from a doctor or two.

Don't get discouraged. There are a lot of people that live with the loose skin and are quite happy. You will firm it up some and maybe when you reach goal it will be better. I had bat wings even when I was fat so they only got worse as I lost weight. I had the muscles but I had a lot of excess skin too. I would not have had the panni and TT if my insurance had not paid for part of it. Don't worry about it now. Wait and see what you look like after you reach goal. emoticon

I think you need to speak with your Doctor about this topic, not the message boards. There are a gazillion well meaning people here on Spark but they are not a Doctor. Please don't be discouraged by what you've read here....it appears you have lost a substantial amount of weight and that alone has made you much healthier.....keep up the good work.....and have that chat with your Doctor!

One Year Check Up

Wednesday, May 05, 2010

Went to Dr yesterday for my one year follow up... he says to quit being so hard on myself that I am doing wonderfula ndhe is pleased with my success....

We are doing some tests just to make sure my nutrients are up and that there has been no damage to my esophagus with the vomiting....

My official weight was 175 there with it being a 2# loss from February.. I go back in about 6 weeks to follow up on my tests.

Great job on the exercise! We all need a little chocolate once in a while.

You are doing great. If it was dark chocolate then it was good for you. You will reach your goal if you string more good days together than bad ones.

Not good yesterday

Thursday, April 15, 2010

Started out the day leaving my well planned (points even counted out) lunch at home on my counter and opted for nachos from the work caferteria... then everyone decided to do a DQ run ( I kept it to a small blizzard) but on a good note I did get 20 minutes of walking in on one of my breaks.... but today I start over again.....

Those things happen, but at least you stayed somewhat in control and didn't let yourself totally go. I think you can be proud that you got right back on track again. Way to go!

One bad meal is not going to spoil all of your efforts. You kept things in check and didn't let it get out of control and you've gotten back on track. Nothing to beat yourself up about.

We all have those days. The important thing to do is what you are planning. Start again. If you keep starting you will never be a failure.

That is the good thing about the band, if you string more good days than bad together you can still lose. Today is a new day so make it a good day.

I know when those days come around it's tough. The good thing is everyday is a new day. Don't beat yourself up. Start over and learn from yesterday. :)
Look at how far you came and where your heading. When you have a craving stop and think for at least 3 seconds and ask yourself if it's even worth it. Most of the time it really isn't. It is great that you still focus on your walk. emoticon

I'm in the same boat you are. I only have 20 pounds to get to goal and have been playing around for over a year. This week I made the committment to get back on the wagon and get those last 20 pounds off. You can do it too. Twenty five pounds by August is totally doable. I'm trying to get at least 10 off by next month when I go on vacation.
