Just had an amazing walk - outside!! It is overcast and in the 50s so a great morning to walk.
I walk across the bridge and along the River Walkway - about half mile to Roy Raley Park and the 10th Street Bridge. Then turn my tape over and 15 minutes back home.
The music I listen to is a set of Praise Walk audio tapes i bought long time ago. Starts out at a slow, warmup pace, then increases for a good work out. At one point, she says that if I am walking 30 minutes to turn the tape over (and head for home). That i just about the point that I reach the Park.
So, just the right timing for my walk. I have about 6 of these tapes so can vary my listening each morning. And, the music is great - some familiars songs and some new ones - so am learning some new songs that I find myself singing along with.
Now to iron my blouse and get ready for work. Am having lunch with my daughter today. YEAH!

Am going to change my introduction text - I had thought losing about 25 lbs. was a good place to start this adventure!! However, I am finding other focuses that are so much more important than the number on the bathroom scales - like eating better, exercising more consistently, and just "being" each day the person God created me to be!
I have received so much encouragement - and do so appreciate each of you!!

I have walked about a mile - outside along the riverfront - for 3 days!
Am a little sore, but feeling very good. This morning I had thought about just doing the video walk inside, and then decided to walk outside. It was a little cooler than it has been, so I wore a hat and gloves. I need to knit a cap - the hat is one my daughter made from fleece - very much like one my mother-in-law might have worn. She was such a cutie with her hats - she had very wiry hair so she covered it up with one of her many hats!!
My sister and I DO NOT wear hats. Many years ago we were in Lerner's in downtown Portland and were trying on hats!! We laughed until we were crying. Such fun we had laughing at each other. So, we just each bought a purse instead.

Did my mile with Leslie Sansone yesterday evening. At one point she said that when the more you sit, the more you just want to sit - and the more you move, the more you want to move.
As I was sitting, doing my bible study this morning, I found that I was moving my legs.
And it felt so good!!
I have bought The Spark and am anxious to receive the DVD - I have noticed that a lot of you have numerous work-out DVDs - and maybe that is a good idea - I think variety is good to keep us motivated. I also have some walking tapes that I have used in the past. Mostly it is rainy here in Pendleton - and I do love the rain. So, will get those tapes out and my tape player - I think it will still work; probably will need new batteries tho.
I had a good sleep after my "walk" last evening.

I don't want to "walk" this morning! I want to pout!! Then I read a previous blog - Don't lose heart - don't grow weary. OK ----- I get it - so put that DVD in and just walk - you will feel so much better and the day will be so much brighter.
Have read a couple of blogs this morning from gals who have stuck with it and have lost weight - am sure there were days when they did not want to - whatever was on their schedule for the day - but they did it anyway - and in the end, they have their reward of goals reached and better health and a better life.
So, stop procrastinating and get off the computer and on your feet!!!
All right, all ready - I'm going!!!
Well, did not walk after all - I remembered that I am having my 9 yr. old granddaughter with me at work today - and needed to stop at WalMart and pick up a couple new coloring books for her. She LOVES to color. I also brought Fraggle Rock DVD for her to watch.
