Oh, my, how stress can take its tole!! Greg, my oldest son, is not coming over for "dinner and a movie" for a while. He and Geoff are so different - almost opposite religious beliefs and political views. So Greg and I will just be meeting later this evening for a "Night out!".
Yesterday I took my pickup in for some repairs - walked back home and then later walked down to pick it up. Also, walked in the neighborhood. Got in lots of steps and was able to "shed" some of that stress. But, can certainly feel it again this morning.
And, this morning on SparkCoach, Dietician Becky Hand shared ways to handle stress. Some things I do, but i do know that exercise is such a good way to release some of it. Something else i do is knitting while watching a favorite movie or tv show. And, with my knitting have finished 3 pairs of socks which will be Christmas presents.
Oh, I do so appreciate the SparkCoach program. I feel like I am gaining so much from it. I especially feel so challenged by the videos. Thank you so much, Spark People!!

Last night I met my son for dinner - we went to our favorite Mexican restaurant. And, of course, I blew my diet. But what I gained from my time with him was so worth it. We have had our differences in the past, but we can always share our feelings and thoughts with each other. And, last night was one of those times.
He works nights so it is not easy for us to get together - he was coming over Saturday evenings for Dinner and a Movie, but because of "differences" between him and the son who lives with me, he has not been over in a couple of months. We talked about what we can do - and will see how it works out.
Now for today!! Need to get moving and get more exercise. A couple of days ago I tried the eliptical at the club - and what a workout. I do not have much range of motion, so was a real stretch for me. Did not go in yesterday - my thigh muscles were rather tight, but plan to go in today. Will do a few minutes on the eliptical and then back to the treadmill. Will try to do a bit more each time - and see.......

I received this from a dear friend and just want to share with someone who may need a word of encouragement today.
I WISH YOU ENOUGH
I WISH YOU ENOUGH SUN TO KEEP YOUR ATTITUDE BRIGHT
I WISH YOU ENOUGH RAIN TO APPRECIATE THE SUN MORE
I WISH YOU ENOUGH HAPPINESS TO KEEP YOUR SPIRIT ALIVE
I WISH YOU ENOUGH PAIN SO THAT THE SMALLEST JOYS IN LIFE APPEAR MUCH BIGGER
I WISH YOU ENOUGH GAIN TO SATISFY YOUR WANTING
I WISH YOU ENOUGH LOSS TO APPRECIATE ALL THAT YOU POSSESS
I WISH YOU ENOUGH “HELLOS” TO GET YOU THROUGH THE FINAL “GOOD-BYE”

I have been listening to Jon Courson's teaching on Romans 1:1. Paul was not able to go to Rome when he so desired to go. And, perhaps, that is to our benefit. Since he was not able to go, he wrote this letter. He could not do what was so in his heart, so he did what he could - he wrote this awesome letter.
And, today, I am bemoaning that fact that i cannot get out and run a 5 mile race, I cannot follow all the exercises on Nicolle's dvd, I cannot drive down to Medford to visit my sister. But, what can I do?? I can take a walk around the block, I can follow the dvd program the best I can (and perhaps tomorrow will be able to do a bit more), and I can take pictures and sent to my sister so show her what my life is like today.
So today I will do all that I can - and then be able to do more tomorrow!!
Now that was quite a workout - just stripping the bed and washing the bed linens. Now to get them from the dryer and back on the bed!!
