Finally walked outside this morning - about half mile. The first part is slightly uphill - then downhill for a way - then flat. Was a good walk. I plan to do that each morning the rest of the week. If I am going to increase my steps each day - then I will just have to get out and walk. Won't increase just sitting here at my computer.

Had a good day at work. My son in Portland called to let me know that he went down to Salem to see his sister - Vicki is in the hospital there - diagnosed with MS. She is 54. She is responding to the medication - but the prognosis is still rather sketchy. She will be in the hospital for at least another week as they adjust her medication and as she regains some of her awareness. I know she is in God's hands - and whatever happens will be completely in His control.

Glad Vicki's on the mend Barb, it must be so worrying for you when she's so far away...stay strong thinking of you. I love my daily walk, I try to go in the morning. Sometimes I get my DH to drop me off outside the village and then walk back in, it's so invigorating and it sets me up for the day. I especially like walking when it's early on, there's a peace about the place before everyone sets off for work...on the odd morning I don't want to go I make myself and I always enjoy it once I'm out there...I always take my camera! An Evening with Maggie

This evening I walked down town - all of about 6 blocks to meet a friend for dinner. Left early so I could stop at the Quilt shop to pick up a piece of material i need for a project. Of course, I found a couple of pieces in the sale basket I just could not resist. One yellow and the other a light green with some yellow highlights. Now what to do with them - perhaps a table runner.

The restaurant where I met Maggie is in the same block as our Farmer's Market. Got there a little early, so shopped a little - found some beets, green and yellow beans, and some apricots. Also, met a couple of friends from church. Then, met Maggie. Had a good dinner of a tamale and fresh salad - very yummy!!. After eating we browsed the Market - Maggie picked up some apricots and some bread and cinnamon rolls. She was ready to go home, so I took my time walking home - talked to a few people along the way who were enjoying the cooler weather. Felt so good to be out - have not gone out for a walk in far too long. And the River Walk Way is just beautiful this time of year. Will take my camera next time and get some new pictures.

So Here I Am!

Many time someone will say something that will remind me - or my son - of a line from a movie. " So here I am, so here I am!" - a line in Medicine Man. Sean Connery is a research scientist in the Amazon rain forest. Lorraine Bracco has gone to learn why they have not heard from him in over 3 years. She is standing in the pouring down rain holding her suitcase saying "Well, here I am, here I am!" It is really a cute movie - check it out if you have not seen it.

Have a long to-do list for today - but think I will just toss it. I just want to sew!!

Hope everyone has something fun planned for the weekend. We are having a BBQ after church Sunday - we have visiting missionaries from Belize. In 2008 some our church members went there to help with the building of their church. They are now in the states for a vacation and will be with us this weekend. Will be such a great time. We will be having BBQ salmon that was caught in Alaska last summer by some of our guys that went up there for a fishing trip.

Probably should at least start a load of wash before I start sewing.

A New Day!

Boy, did I take yesterday off!!! I was having a pity party! You know, one of those "nobody loves me, everybody hates me, guess I'll just go dig some worms" days!! Not a pretty site - even my son kept a safe distance.

But, the sun is out - and I found on Amazon a song I have been searching for a long time. It is called "It Must Have Rained in Heaven on Crucifixion Day". Have just listened to it again. And, it reminded me again of the price that was paid for me that day at Calvary.

It is sunny and cool today - looks like it will be a nice day. Our church is having a potluck this evening at the home of one of our families - will be lots of good food and fun times.

Our pastor will be back - he was in Klamath Falls the past 2 weeks. His mother passed away last Sunday - so we was able to be with her for her last days and for her memorial service. It will be good to have him home and back in the office - I do miss him when he is gone.

Better start getting ready for Sunday School. We have such a good teacher and good lessons. Right now we are studying Ephesians.

I do feel better now - just writing all this down - so will see what I can accomplish today.
