Well, Round-Up has taken over Pendleton!! Yesterday driving thru town - parking lots filled with trailers and cars; Main Street blocked off as vendors set up their booths; booths, cars, people around the Round-Up grounds!! What an exciting time for our quiet little town.
Last night when we had the door open we could hear the Main Street Cowboys music and some of the crowd cheering!! They are really loud!!
Today we had our Round-Up Sunday in the Park and just want to share a few pictures I took. Here is our Worship Leader and one of the ladies in our church as they lead the music:
Our Pastor introducing our speaker:
Our speaker, Marty Campbell and his wife, Mandie. He was a bull rider in his younger days, but broke his back in a fall. Now he teaches Ag at the High School and is much loved by the students and in our Commuity:
This morning our Pastor asked how we plan to spend today? - Labor Day and also the Sabbath. He shared the story of Jesus healing the man with the withered hand - and the authorities becoming upset because He actually healed on the Sabbath.
Then Pastor challenged us to "step out of the box" - look around and find someone we can minister to today -
How will you be spending the day? What can you do for someone else? What do you have in your hand that you can share with someone in need?
Labor Day was began as a recognition of the many workers who have made our Country strong. How can I carry on this great tradition - for my generation and for my grandchildren? How can I encourage them to be their best?
