  I found carrying a waterbottle in the car very handy. I bring it in with me to work and make a point to refill it as soon as it's empty.

Also, a nice drink of water can help postpone the urge to EAT.

I never win anything! But, I did this morning. I think I am getting one of those, you know, those subliminal messages from SparkPeople. "You have not been exercising enough!!" So, that SparkPoints Wheel stopped at the Fitness DVD just for me! YOO HOO!!

When I was in High School on the radio there were contests to identify songs. I remember winning a pair of earrings once that I gave to my Mother. And, that's about the extent of my winnings. But, someone told me once that you have to enter contests in order to win. Well, maybe that is why i don't win.

And, I do not drink enough water. I have occasional headaches and my son tells me that is because i do not drink water - well, i drink about 2 - 3 glasses a day, but that is not enough. The article I read this morning suggested starting out with 1 glass today and adding another one each day this week. OK - I will try that and report back. Now that it is in black and white, will have to do!!!

I drink 1 cup of coffee in the morning and then 2 -3 glasses of water during the day. Then sometimes before bed will have another cup of coffee. And that is the extent of my fluids during the day. No wonder I tend to retain fluid. I want to blame the heat - and I know that contributes to it - but drinking more water would certainly make a difference.

So, my plan for the week is to drink more water!!!

    I used to drink alot of water and I suffered with headaches still. I told my Doctor she said some people do have that. So as long as I have tea, coffee and Grandberry juices that are not sweet. She is okay on that and just get in at least two water a day. Two milk a day. Fine. Like lettuce is 80% water and some other veggies.

I take a water pill as well so she said, I am flushing out enough for me.

Every body is different. We have to do with the water differently. Do what agrees with us. I have loss as doing it this way. Never effected me.

    Congratulations on the win Barb, that's going to keep you busy so you'll have to up your water intake!
I keep two large bottles of water in the fridge which I drink throughout the day, if there's any left I drink it before bed. I don't drink tea or coffee, the only hot drinks I have are hot water and the occasional low calorie drinking chocolate made with water. My hot water and chocolate drinks are extra to the water from the fridge so it soon mounts up.

    I don't drink enough water either! Maybe that's another reason I can not seem to lose weight! I like your suggestion of adding another glass per day. I'm going to try it also.

I continue to struggle with my relationship with my children. Yesterday evening went to a Bible study at church and was able to share with this group of wonderful, caring friends. They are so supportive - not judgmental and not full of advice.

Recently have been so tired again - I have arthritis - and when I am still for more than an hour, I hurt..... so do not sleep very long at a time......am up about every 2 hours and just walk around a bit. Then another "nap". But, I do find that I feel better when I exercise more. But, my "excuse" is that I am too tired to exercise. And so goes the vicious circle.

But when I exercise more consistently I do sleep better and am better able to cope with the family God had placed me in. I do love each of my children - they are each so individual and have such loving, caring hearts. But, also, they each have their issues with life. Don't we all!!!! And, my heart aches for each one.

So, my resolve is to get with the program and made a few commitments that will help me to be a better person - physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I have done this a number of times, but there are a couple more things I will do that I think will get me over the "hurdle" and into the life that God has for me.

I have read many of the things that SparkPeople have done to motivate them and they sound so good. But, I just read them and think 'What a great idea!!" and then go on as I always had, thinking about it and doing what I have always done - which a lot of the time is not much!!

The first thing I am going to do is a collage - have started one, but did not finish.
That is where I will start this week. Today is Wed. so will have time to do by the end of the week.

And, now it is time to get off this computer and get ready for work. Will see how this week goes!!

    Glad you had a lovely evening relaxing with your friends Barb, it'll have done you the world of good.
Sorry your arthritis is playing up, I know the feeling.....though mine's been very good since I fell and banged my knee a month ago, it hasn't hurt at all.
I was in talks with my doctor about having the knee washed out as he thought I might have a flake of bone in it which was causing the pain, the fall must have dislodged what ever was in the joint....not that I recommend falling.....lol.....too drastic!

Trying to Get More Steps in Each Day.

My job of 30 years was mostly on a computer - after the mid 80's when the first laptops came out. Now work in the church office and am on the computer again!!

Don't like shopping at WalMart, but it is a big store and I do get lots of walking in - just looking for items. (We have a "new" store and feels like they have upset the apple cart - no rhyme or reason for the arrangement.

And, in the church I have been trying to take a lap around the church about every hour - including the stairs. Keep thinking i will take my pedometer and see how many steps I get in.

    When I increase my steps I take to long way to the rest room. I get up from my desk and open the door for my co-workers. Some times I go on another floor to use the bathroom, take a walk on my two breaks in the morning and afternoon. Plus walk on my lunch hour and my afternoon break.

I park away from the job and walk to the building. And when I find I need more steps when I come home I walk in my neighborhood when the weather is great or I walk the four floors in my building. Then I have added to walk in my enclosed garage to get my steps.

When I don't go out I walk around in my living room dining room and kitchen. I make a trail in my home.

Just a few suggestions.
