So after several months more than I would like to count of suffering miserably with plantar fasciitis, I bought some MBTs yesterday. Now there were plenty of Sparks people that suggested buying them back in February but I held off due to the cost (about $250/pair!). I just feel bad spending money on myself when we are not loaded and there are plenty of costs associated with the kids. (Especially with tuition and apartment rent due for our oldest!) Because of the incredible pain I suffer daily, I already cancelled our vacation to Cedar Point. I know my fellow adrenaline junkies are wiping tears from their eyes as they read that last statement. But when we were in Bristol this past March, I was in absolute tears as we walked around at the stadium and then back and forth to where we parked our car in the next county. (And if you know anything about stadium traffic, there is no way I could ever ask my hunny to bring me the car if we want to get out of the stadium complex in any decent amount of time!!) So it almost gets worse as we have vacation plans for Orlando in the next few weeks and I had been wondering about renting a wheelchair and then getting beat up as people see that I seem perfectly fine! Appearances are deceiving as in my case; I have had 2 shots of cortisone in my left foot, physical therapy for both feet, and have 2 different pairs of night splints along with spending lots of time stretching my foot, calf, and Achilles along with icing my feet after every workout. I will ice both feet since they both have; though the left foot is much worse. Boy, these shoes sure feel goofy when I am walking in them. And my son says they look like orthopedic shoes. But if I am able to enjoy walking around Orlando as we race from thrill ride to thrill ride, then it will be worth every penny and surviving the goofy way they look!
