So a week ago yesterday I got another migraine. Laid me up good for 2 days. I had to go get another pro-time on Monday @ 11:45am. Too darn hot here this whole week. Having to use Franks car with no AC is killing me. lol People with Lupus will understand that extremes of weather does a number on us. It's 3:30pm here and just under 100 degrees. Most of last week was over 100. Wouldn't have been so bad but S.CA decided we needed a bunch of humidity. Very rare for this area but it is what it is.
So it's 104, no AC in the car and I had to drive to that darn pro-time appointment having just got over another migraine. It is a little over 10 miles round trip but in traffic it takes about 20 mins or so, one way. Then on Wednesday, I had to go to the ATM and I get there and lo I do not have the ATM card. It is still sitting at home. Back to home, back to ATM, then get some gas in Franks car ( he has gone out job hunting most everyday and still no luck). I go to CVS where my script for a refill for Maxall Melt (generic version) is waiting. I grab the bag go home and it is not the melts but pills. I don't even know the name of the doctor that is on the paperwork? So I call CVS, head back to CVS and my head is pounding again, from the heat, pouring sweat. I finally get the correct melting pills. I find that using the melts works best and faster for me then the pills which take longer to kick in. When one gets aura's with flashing lights, you want that medication to work now, not in 30 mins.
So that's my story and I am sticking to it.
For those that commented on my last blog regarding the Lazy Boy furniture. If LB has the furniture you want at the S.CA warehouse located I believe over in Riverside County, we live in Orange County, in color, style, fabric. You can get it delivered to your home in under a week, unless you want to drive to the warehouse & pickup yourself. This is why it is taking so long to get our new living room furniture.

Ok I was ready to get back into walking and going to the gym. My vette is still not running. Then my back started to get better and I decided I would use my Leslie Sansone indoor walking dvds, just to start out easy. I got a migraine last Wednesday and the darn thing did not ease up until Sunday.
Frank and I went to Lazy Boy yesterday (we went last Tuesday also to look at furniture). My husband wanted to come yesterday, because he was suppose to have the day off. He got called into work. Anyways, when Frank & I went last week, we found out it would take 10-12 weeks to get special ordered furniture. I told my husband I thought it would take at least 6 weeks a few months back and he thought I was crazy. Soooo, we will be lucky to have living room furniture by Thanksgiving. But the 2 pieces will be brown leather, nailed couch and love sits with recliners. So comfy and soft. Jeff wanted black leather to go with the black leather counter nailed chairs, but it raised the price by $3700 because black isn't a standard color in the type of furniture we purchased. So I said no way and he agreed.
He sched. a reunion party at our house for the 7th of Sept. with 3 other couples that he graduated high school with. It is 40 yrs, and they all decided that they didn't want to see anybody else but a get-to-gather with us would be find. Now we will have to bring in the deck chairs and be real careful not to damage the new wood floors. Hope the party goes well.
Thanks all for hanging in there with me. I know I haven't been much of a Sparks friend for the last couple of years but I am really trying to get my act together. xo

Yesterday I went to the gym and had a good cardio workout.
I had a dentist appointment at 3pm. I have very healthy gums and teeth. Due to over brushing with a hard toothbrush when I was younger, my gum line has receded and my roots of my teeth are showing, causing my much pain over the years. The dentist and I decided it was time to fix this problem over a period of time. The upper right & left this year and the lowers next year. My main problem is I am allergic to Novocaine & Lidocaine, so they have to use products that aren't as strong. They have used this product only a few times over the last 7 or so years. I still feel unwell and was white as a ghost when I finally got home last evening. Didn't eat any dinner until around 8pm. Stomach and headache, to I took Tylenol when I got home too. I go back to at the end of the month to do the left side after doing the right yesterday.
So I am leaving the doctors office, it is around 90 degrees and my car won't start up once again. I call Jeff who comes and rescues me with a jump on the batteries. I wait inside the air-conditioned office where I start to feel sick. I hope I don't feel like this after the next side at the end of the month and need to tell my doctor how I reacted when they open again on Monday.
I drive home with the hubby and son driving behind me but am too scared to turn the A/c or radio on in the car. Some of you will remember me talking here about troubles with my car and Jeff doing so many things to get it running. He thought he had it fixed and I have been driving it around for close to a month, no problems. Even driving to the dentist car was running fine with the radio and A/C running along keep the car nice and cool. So when I call him at first he thinks I am joking. No its too hot too joke and I am very glad I didn't have to wait outside.
Got up this pretty early this morning because the floor installer's were coming to put the new flooring into two of the bedrooms. Only one room left in the house to get the popcorn ceiling off and put in the new floors. Still felt sick this morning but had to drive up to St. Jude's Medical in Fullerton for a pro-time. Had to adjust just a bit on meds for tomorrow.
The guys were still working on the floors when I got home and I just really wanted to lie down. After they left around 12:30pm or thereabouts, Jeff turned back on the A/C in the house and we all took short naps. Still don't feel 100%, stomach tossing and turning but getting better.
Will take Phred out for a walk once it cools off, currently @ 4pm it is still in the upper 80's.
Have a nice weekend.

Ok I guess with the new system the hospital and doctor's group have now initiated I get alerts in my email. They started doing this a while ago and insisted that one should join, you get in using you Facebook account ID. I got the alert yesterday afternoon and all is fine, which is what I thought, but nice to read. It said I should also receive an hard copy soon. We shall see. I really hate this new system, but you can go on and see just about everything from at least the last 10 yrs. online. I just worry about identity theft which I experience in 2009.
Painted both bedrooms this morning and we installed the new light fixtures last night. I also have already gone to StatersBros Market this AM. SB had good prices on whole chickens @ .99 cents a pound. I picked up 3, having one tonight. Jeff purchased a new freezer for me a couple of weeks ago from Home Depot and it was delivered last week. We purchased a bunch of ice from the local ice house to help it keep everything cold until we can get it filled up. It is a May Tag energy star rated and self defrosting (woo hoo). I am slowly getting it filled up. I plan to go back to SB Monday and get some more whole chickens. I also purchased some boneless pork chops, 5 to a pack for around $5 bucks, give or take a few cents.
I have been reading every night on my Kindle because with the only tv working in the master bedroom gets turned off when my hubby decides to go to bed. He sometimes hits the hay around 7:30pm. I either hang on my laptop or read. I downloaded some free classics a long time ago. So having never read Uncle Tom's Cabin, I had been reading it. Since I am not from the south, it is a bit difficult to sometimes make-out the dialect being used by both the master's and the slaves. I find it to be a real eye opener, even though I am aware from my black studies classes in high school and college about slavery, civil rights, etc., it really gets to the heart of the matter. Even after all these years of being written so long ago, I have been close to tears a number of times.
Having visited the south in 1971 (15 yrs old at the time) I can remember being in shock at the living conditions of some black families as my mother and I drove down from Washington DC, along the East Coast to Florida. As bad as some blacks thought they had it in areas like Oakland and Los Angeles, it was nothing compare to seeing the shanty's and huts I observed then. Anyway I find it to be a example of what the South really was like before the Civil War and think more people (of any color) should be required to read it.
Enough preaching. I hope everyone is doing grand and the weather cools off for everyone.
