Short blog

Jeff left this morning to work in Tulare, CA until the 19th of Feb. He always takes my laptop and I have to use his desktop which is located in another room. I perfer to use my laptop because it is faster and this one takes forever to load anything. Also it freezes up now and then while you are typing, etc. So I sit and have to wait to continue, it drives me crazy.
Anyway took Phred for 2 walks today, did some cleaning again. My ankle is bothering me again, most likely from the walk yesterday ane swollen up again. I have an early mornig appointment with my doctor, so I won't be on for long tonight. Took Frank out to dinner tonight at IHOP, only have their Simply Fit Veggie Omelette with the fruit cup and a reg. 2% milk. It was under 450 cals. and I stayed within my calories with no problem. Hope everyone had a great day!

You ought to try icing you ankle at regular intervals, 15 min at a time, and especially right after walking on it. Ice has always been my friend. I would far and away prefer heat, but ice is the only thing for swelling.
Sorry about the computer, my old lap top is like that, and when I go to my Mom's, the slow connection just bogs down everything new or not :(
I hope you feel better tomorrow and your Dr. makes sure your meds are still working, or need a bigger dose. I have been on Methotrexate 20 years, and my Doc increased the dose every now and then if I was flaring, same with the Humira, but would drop it back down when it was over..

Walked canceled yesterday due to winds made up for it today.

Sunday, January 29, 2012

The winds were blowing so hard yesterday that we canceled our river walk and decided to head down to San Juan Capistrano (I thought we were going to Dana Point) they are close to each other. There wasn't any wind in that area, which is south of us at all. So strange. Glad I went because I hadn't planned on buying anything. I have been looking for new canisters (flour, sugar or whatever) for the kitchen. I wanted something nice either stainless steel to match the appliances or something stone with blue. I found 3 nice stoneware canisters with stainless steel closers and they are white(cream) with blue leaf design on them. Just perfect and couldn't find anywhere, even looking online. I didn't think the price was bad either at $15 for all three and there isn't any damage on them anywhere. I will take a picture of them when I have them set up in the new kitchen.
Today Irene and I took a walk around her neighborhood to make up for yesterday. After I came home I went over to the bowling alley to get in some practice b/4 noon. Bowled 6 games for less than $3 with my 2 free and a $5 off coupon. I did pretty good, no game under 127 with an avg. of 141. 3 out of the 6 games were over 150.
Then came home and read the some of the Sunday paper. It wasn't delivered this morning for some reason, so I had to call. They guarantee that a new one will be at your door with 69 min. and they were not lying. I was surprised when I got a call a few mins. after I went out and found the paper already there.
Jeff leaves early in the morning to work in Tulare, CA. for a couple of weeks and Frank returned from AZ last night. Hope everyone had a great Sunday!

Wasn't one of my better days.

Friday, January 27, 2012

Yesterday, other than going to the market and taking Phred for a nice walk, I was exhausted. Everything hurt and I was looking forward to seeing my Rhuematologist this morning. Of course, I got a call from the office to reschedule next week. Only once again we don't have Jeff's insurance in Feb. so they had to squeeze me in on Tuesday morning @ 8:15am. I told the scheduler Jackie when she made the time and date that the appointment would be canceled, but was assured that it would not. Every time they make a Friday morning appointment the doctor has something to do. Not sure if my tiredness, fatigue and aches are from being back on Immuran or not.

Woke up early this morning and my throat was a bit scratchy but seems ok now. I laid about a bit today and had soup for lunch and manage to take Phred for a short walk (our weather has cooled off again and was overcast, cool and cloudy).

After I came home a took a nap I had some energy so I did a job in the new part of the house that Jeff asked me to do a few days ago. This was to take the shop vac and clean all the walls, moving everything (tools, etc) that are inside the new area, the floors and just about everywhere. I had to move a lot of storage boxes around and put stuff out in the storage bins on the side of the house. The shop vac's filter was real dirty and I had to use a brush and try to clean it out so I could continue to vacuum. This took 90 mins and I was so dirty and sweaty when done that I came inside and took an early shower.

Tomorrow doing a river walk again with Irene in the morning. Then we are heading down to Dana Point to a friends garage sale. Don't have any money but will be fun to be out and about with friends.

So sorry you are hurting so much :( Cold weather always gets me too :(.. You should probably insist you don't want a Friday appointment ever with this Dr. from the sounds of it, that is pretty rude with the constant cancellations.
90 minutes of doing a tough job like that -I hope you aren't going to pay for it the next day..
Enjoy the garage sale -I don't mind going and looking, but rarely ever buy anything. I envy you getting out and walking by the river. Mom says the trails are too icy here to even try, but that is not stopping her from getting out on them -she had a three hour walk today!! I did all of 45 minutes outside and the cold wind got me aching in every bone in my body..
I hope you can enjoy the weekend and have some fun!

Got a lot done today

Thursday, January 26, 2012

Woke up late around 8:30am but still managed to get a lot done. Went to the credit union to make a deposit for my husband. Came home and dusted, vacuumed and mopped. Took a shower and washed my hair, dried it and then ate a fast lunch and headed over to the bowling alley to arrive around 12:45pm. Wednesday is 2 hour free practice for league bowlers. Came home, checked on the mail, then took Phred for his afternoon walk. It was very warm today around the mid 80's and Phred didn't want to go too far. Came home and relaxed while I ate a snack and watched 2 days worth of GH. Ate dinner for myself, since Jeff had to work late again. That is all. lol

Some new construction pictures

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

I know there are a few of my friends here who are on my FB friends list. They will be able to see more pictures than what I am showing here. Things are coming along with the house construction. These were mostly taken in Dec 2011 & Jan. 2012, there might be a few that were taken in Nov. So here goes. Befor insulation was put in new laundry area.
Kitchen area b/4 insulation
B/4 stucco
New front porch being installed, the brick trim was from the old fireplace
Front porch completed.

Insulation done.
Drywall & blueboarded put on walls.
Son Frank digging the last support for the house, he is inside the entry hall closet.
Cabinets arriving from KraftMaid.
I really did help with the sanding but there was so much dust while we were doing the sanding that I couldn't use my camera. We wore masks and were all covered head to toe in white dust. I think I am still cleaning the dust from inside the house. lol
Placing the cabinets and checking for damage
Jory and Jeff looking everything over.
New pantry's with my built in desk area between. Right side bottom cabinets have pull out drawers for dry goods, ect. and the left side is split with shelfs on one side and the other for brooms (this is where all cleaning supplies will be located).
So tha is an example of what is going on with the construction. For those of you who have been keeping up with the other blogs about this since I think June. You will notice a dramatic change in the house. xo to all.
