Nice warm day again.

Friday, January 06, 2012

Our weather has been just beautiful for the last couple of weeks. Most days in the upper 70s.
I went to Costco this morning, always fun. Did not sample anything, so I gave myself a pat on the back. I always look to see if Costco has trout, I was lucky and they did today. I couldn't even finish the trout I had for dinner, but my husband finished it for me. lol
Took Phred out for 2 walks for my cardio and did 2 of the bootcamp videos. I think I have caught up with them all, since there isn't one for Sunday.
Tomorrow I will do day 6 video and most likely head over to the bowling alley to get in some practice. Won't be any marathon bowling like I have been doing since those were specials for Christmas and New Years Days.
No working on the house today and tomorrow since Jeff had to work. The boys headed over to Home Depot to get the stuff they will need on Sunday.
Have a nice weekend everybody!

Teri, so good to see you blogging again, and hearing about Phred! Good for you not snacking at Costco! We were 70 degrees here yesterday, too. Had a front come through and are in the low 60's and cloudy today, but actually not too bad. emoticon

Sounds like you are getting back to the norm. and able to work on other things than the house. I don't have a Costco's membership because there isn't one (yet) in the TX. Valley. It is a work in progress. We have always had a Sams though and get lots of good meats & fish there. Love to be in a position to get fresher fish than frozen but for us that is the best. Enjoy the weekend & the beautiful weather. We keep hearing about our weather at home and can't believe how warm it still is. no snow and lakes are losing the ice. Weird weather for us!!

Busy day.

Friday, January 06, 2012

Ran errands this morning, CVS, Kmart and Ralphs Market. Then came home and did some wrapping and other stuff around the house. I then ate lunch, made my husband a sandwich and watch "Parenthood" that I had on the dvr from the other night. I then did a Leslie Sansone 3 mile walk dvd, showered, dried my hair and took Phred out for his daily walk. I would like to work on getting that back up to 2 times a day. He sometimes refuses to go, I don't know if he is getting older (only 5+) but he is set in his ways. I also did 2 of Sparks workouts for the January challenge. I have been very careful to keep within my calorie range everyday, mostly on the lower side. Feeling good about getting back on track!.

Cabinets arrived, still in the boxes for a while.

Wednesday, January 04, 2012

So we have the new flooring and the new cabinets. Hurrah for that. Unfortunately, they won't be going in for a least a couple of weeks. Progress is coming along great. We rented a 22 ft locking storage container from the city for $78 a month and that is now sitting in the driveway. Just looks lovely, in a beautiful blue color. lol
Weather has been very warm the last couple of days. Over 80+ today, broke a lot of records for this date locally.
Went bowling again today because today is free practice days for 2 hours. Have been meeting up often with the same group of people. Merilyn, Rey & Harry. Even ran into Harry last week at St. Jude's lab when we both were having our bloodwork drawn. Showed up today and the front desk guy saw me coming and already put me on another bowling lane, Ray said no put Teri with us. You know you have been at the bowling too often when everybody knows your name. No, sorry that is Cheers. lol
Sticking to the diet plan with no problems so far. Should have stuck to it more the last 6 months. I know I wouldn't have gained so much weight back. Live and learn from my mistakes. Just got to watch it next time I get down below 150, not to let the weight creep back on. Oh well life is a roller coaster and I am on the ride to stay to the end.

Lucky you bowling!! I so want to get back into it. Just hate all these surgery and recovery roadblocks..I last bowled in my early 20's, before a major RA flare up knocked me out. It was an activity my Mom loved and for a brief time I was on a team with her.
Delays, delays and yet more delays on your renos, I feel for you, but its a very common occurrence these days..
The best thing you can do is get out and enjoy yourself like you are doing with bowling!
Have fun and stay on track!! I am one to talk, I went from a surgery weight of 113 to 124, too much holiday snacking and rich food :PP. At least the Dr. is allowing me some limited cardio no -1/2 hr per day on a bike and the elliptical. I can feel my lay off!! The strength training is killing me!

Oh, Wow! Sounds like the house is coming along, slowly but surely! I hear you on the food choices! I was a naughty girl over the Holidays, too! I would LOVE to get below 150! That would be terrific! Lets shoot for that goal together!

Tomorrow should be interesting.

Tuesday, January 03, 2012

I have started back following my calorie inputs and exercising. I still haven't caught up with the online exercises for the new team but I will catch up.
Tomorrow the new kitchen cabinets arrive. It will take a while for all of them to be installed by my hubby, son and myself. This has to be done after the floor is put in and when Jeff has a day off from reg. work. In the last 7 weeks we have got a ton of work done on the house.
Did pretty well in bowling league today. I was still pretty tired out from bowling 5+ hours on Sunday. My first game was 153, the 2nd 134 and the last one I hit 100. I did not have any get up and go after the first 2 games. I also am adjusting to new medication again and not use to how tired it can make me feel.
Anyway I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year. xo

That's a lot of bowling!! I used to bowl on a league and after the 3rd game, I was ready to go home. Of course that was many yrs. ago. (LOL) You have had so much work to do. It sounds as though you are getting close to being done. Hope all goes well today and the cabinets are up and going!!

Wow! 5 hours of bowling? I played for just over an hour last summer and my elbows were in agony for a few days afterwards. It's really too bad because I had a lot of fun playing.

Looking forward to seeing some photos of your house. I'm glad it's progressing well for you.

Take care.

Wow, you must have really been putting in the hours on that house. I hope the end is finally in sight.. Missed your blogs and photos on your progress..
If the medication is being a problem, be sure to ask your Dr. about it, how long you can expect the tiredness to last, if its normal, etc..
Hope your New Year is a fabulous one and that you can get to enjoy your renovations rather than constantly working on them.

Happy New Year everyone. First blog of 2012

Tuesday, January 03, 2012

OK, I am planning to get back in the game. I have gained allot of weight back currently I was 179 at the doctors on the 29th of Dec. and I am not too happy about that at all.

November sucked because I sprained my ankle on the 1st and was told to stay off of it for 10 days. Then I had an eye infection that made it difficult to be in the sun. After that I got the flu that last for close to 10 days. Guess what November was shot. I gained close to 15 lbs during the month. lol

The men have been working hard on the house (construction) which I didn't help out much with partly because I have been having problems with my medications. My Rheumy kept trying to lower the dose of Celcept but I kept having stomach problems and just could no longer tolerate it. I had been on this drug since spring of 2009. He is afraid to stop giving me any medications: because he/we (my hubby) know that eventually my kidneys will not work properly again. So now I am back on Immuran and hope it works. I was taking Immuran for about 10 yrs up till spring of 2009 when it stopped working for me. We are hoping for the best since I can not tolerate many of the other medications that can be used. Of course there is a new Lupus drug out now but getting insurance companies to pay for new stuff is like pulling teeth. We shall hope for the best.

Have been doing a lot of bowling. Having fun league bowling every week. The alley has been having specials for league bowlers where you pay $10 and can bowl all you want. I did this on Christmas afternoon and also yesterday the first. I bowl 9 games myself b/4 some of my bowling friends showed up so I was pretty tired out last night.

Joined the January Jump start challenge today, so I am a couple of days behind on the workout but will catch up with no problem. Plan on tracking my exercise mins. and food starting this week as well. Hope to be here for my friends once again. xo
