Busy day and woke up feeling great.

Sunday, May 01, 2011

Got up and of course my DH started up on the chimney again along with our son. It is almost done and I will post more pictures. Jeff just asked me if I wanted to use the sledge hammer tomorrow. You know I am all over that and can't wait to swing that 8 pounds. Better than the gym.

Did some errands, went to the market. Came home and had lunch with the boys, who then went back to destroying the chimney. I went to the gym and had two good cardio workouts. Jogged for 50 min. today and close to 4 miles. emoticon emoticon

Came home and turned on NASCAR, Jeff didn't realize it was on. Silly man.
Made dinner Shrimp with Angel Hair pasta added to it. Along with some mixed veggies and mini sugar free banana muffins along with 1% milk. I then took Phred for his walk and did the dishes. Sort of boring, normal day.

Hope everyone has a fantastic Sunday!

Lazy Day, no energy.

Friday, April 29, 2011

I didn't sleep well last night. I think is because I didn't make it over to the gym until after 3pm. For some reason if I exercise late, I have trouble sleeping. I also couldn't get comfortable. Oh well, doesn't happen too often anymore.

Got up and my husband turned on the tv for me to watch the wedding of the year. He actually got up at 3pm so he saw alot of it live. He thought all the pomp was fantastic, with the old cars and carriages. Such tradition can't be purchased. You could tell William and Kate are very much in love. I saw a moment after they first got into the carriage after the wedding and W was so sweet and I read her lips as she "Thanked him" and said how happy she was, well really both of them. You know Di is smiling down from above that her son found a great match!

Frank and my husband worked some more on taking down the fireplace today.
Here are some shots from today.

The above is where they started from today. It took them a couple of days to get the fireplace down to this point.

DH Jeff working hard. He is trying to keep as many bricks as possible to reuse.

Son, Frank loading up my husband truck for the dump in the morning. Then do it all over again.

I am getting more excited now that we are starting on the home update.

Hope you had a great Saturday. That fireplace looks like quite a lot of work! That's great that your son and husband are able to do the work, good for them!

Enjoy your weekend and remember that tomorrow is a new day.

Teri, I think it's important to listen to our bodies. If you need a lazy day, take it! I know that you normally get in lots of fitness minutes!

I think we all deserve a lazy day now & then. I did not get up early to watch the wedding, but I still seen a lot of it on TV. They did look very happy. I think they are a beautiful couple, and I too believe Diana was watching down ion them:)

I find I can't sleep after evening exercise either, and besides, in the morning I feel the best with the most energy, so I can give my workouts 110% ;) I wished I had seen the wedding live, missed all the important parts while I was exercising :(
What a load of work your husband has taken on removing that chimney! Hope he doesn't feel too many aches and pains afterwards!
Hope you have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Linda

I, too, was happy to see that William really appears to love Kate, unlike his father who more or less HAD to marry Diana to produce heirs. Poor Diana, she ended up being used as a broodmare for those two boys, and after she produced them, she was cast aside by Charles, who never really cared for her, anyway. The whole thing was a sham.
After Diana was killed, he couldn't wait to marry Camilla! It really IS an outrage, and I think he should be skipped over for King.

The remodeling looks like it is going well! I agree, I would be very excited too! Be sure to keep us posted! Thanks for sharing!

Hurrah for me! I did a 5K on the treadmill today!

Wednesday, April 27, 2011

I have been working towards jogging a 5K for a while now. I plan on being in a 5K race here on Flag Day June 11th. I am not currently going for time, but endurance to complete the race. Speed may come later but the coach at the gym today said it was fantastic. I need to get early and try running around the neighborhood (which a couple of people have told me to start doing to get use to running on the street). I did 3.37 miles in 45 min., starting with a 4.0 speed and working up to 5.5 then back down again. I did a fast walk for the cool-down.

Our weather today was over 90 degrees but is suppose to do a slow cool down over next couple of days. I feel sorry for my husband because he has been working in Newport Beach setting up all the electrical for the Yacht/Boat show. He rather the weather were a bit cooler because it gets real hot out on the docks running cable.

I still need to walk Phred but will wait until after dinner for it to cool off a bit. At least there is a breeze coming up now. Maybe eating late, just got a call from hubby, stuck in traffic for who knows how long. Oh well, just another day in paradise.

Good for you! I walk/jog on the treadmill at the Y and usually do a 5K a time or two a week. The treadmill makes me work harder then if I am on the street.....I have to keep up with the darn thing emoticon

When you do the race there will be so many people to encourage you. Plus there are always people I want to pass! It keeps me motivated. I'm making it sound like I run these every weekend but I've done only one race and have one coming up! You are going to have a great time!

It was warm today.......it's too early for these summer temps.

Take care and keep on moving, Terry

Make sure you have water for you and Phred on your walks in that heat!
Take care and enjoy your evening

All Week and Easter too

Monday, April 25, 2011

This week was one of those times when it seems nothing ever goes the way you plan for it to go. After the kids were here last weekend, my son Frank went back to AZ with them until they returned late Thursday or early Friday morning.
After they got to AZ, Eve started to have problems with her car and we weren't sure she would be able to get it fixed. So we were maybe going to have to drive to AZ to pick up Frank. So glad we didn't have to do that.

Jeff and I had some time together, since he only had to work Monday and Tuesday of last week. We enjoyed having the house to ourselves. We worked on the house, purchased 4 dvd's, had movie days and just hung out.
I did make it to the gym a couple of times but decided just to take the week off from the site because I was having problems with my computer. When Jeff was in Chicago, he did some updates and the lap top just wouldn't let me enter anything or work correctly and it drove me crazy. We also started to take down our chimney for the house redo that starts in June.

The kids got back home and on Friday morning I took my daughter Samra up to the city of Monrovia (near Pasadena) to shop at a specially bra shop. Samra is very endowed and it has been a problem to get the correct size. All of the kids have joined the Planet Fitness where they live in AZ, and Samra needed a good workout bra. I was able to get her one workout bra, and 3 other bra's. They ranged in size's 2 (38-HH), 1 (38-J) and the sports bra was a 38-G. They were fitted and now she is a happy camper. It cost me $272, so with the 80 mile round trip and a lunch , it was a spendy day, to say the least. I am just happy she has some well fitted bra's now.

On Easter I took her over to her friend Jenny's home in the city of La Palma (Jenny lives in AZ near where she lives). Jenny had a baby boy about 5 weeks ago and she really wanted me to see the baby. He is so cute and very good too.
The whole time Samra was here she couldn't hear out of one hear and she was in so much pain, she had her friends drop her off at the ER last night. So I was up late, picking her up and taking her to the pharmacy. Her ins. worked for the ER but wouldn't pay for her medication, so I paid for that $72. This was not a cheap weekend for me.

Earlier in the afternoon Phred the Wonder Dog decided to chase something under our deck. After we finally got him out he was no longer a white dog, but very black. I got elected to bathe him, which is not a fun chore. So after that we heard from Jory's girlfriend Eve (Samra lives with them in AZ) that she had been in a fender bender but was OK.

So the whole of last week was rather strange here, weather was warm one day then cold the next. We had rain yesterday morning and today was nice.
I am going to post a few pictures that my friend emailed me from the hike at Borengo Springs a few weeks back on another blog today.

Seems like whatever could go wrong, DID go wrong! Wow, you spent a lot of money! We horseback riders have to buy supportive bras for riding! Nothing looks worse than a bouncing bosom when you are on horseback! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Sorry Samra had so much expensive trouble. I used to have big trouble with my chest size, and found these great, but very expensive bras, but was quite happy to spend the money so I wouldn't ever have that embarrassing and painful bounce again. Now, with my weight loss, they are too big on me :(( I lost FOUR bra sizes!! Now I have trouble finding a size SMALL enough lol.
Too bad there wasn't a lake or something nearby that old Phred couldn't go for a swim and give himself a bath ..
I hope your week goes better for you!
Hugs,
Linda
