Friday my husband got home from Chicago. After my son and I picked him up at the airport we went to dinner at Ruby's. I had a turkey burger (protein style, which means no bun only lettuce) and a small side salad with lemon.
Friday morning I went to the gym with Irene and we stopped by IHOP after our workout and shared my free birthday meal (Rooting Tooting Fresh and Fruity) we had it with blue berry's. We each got 1 sausage, 1 bacon, 1 pancake and half of the eggs (egg beaters) I had orange juice and Irene had a bowl of oatmeal. We met up with Debbie who was there after a job interview at Knotts Berry Farm. Debbie did not get the job and I think she is a bit upset. She has been looking for well over 9 months.
Saturday we went to the horse races at Santa Anita. It was pretty cool and never saw the sun because of the dark clouds. Did have some fun and good food too. I spent $90 on betting during the day and won one race for $48, so I made back a little over half of what I bet. My husband always gives my son and I $100 for the day. The really sad part of the day was one horse fell during a race and they had to put her down. It was just so sad to see this beautiful horse break both of her front legs. Everyone was so shocked because I think I have only seen this happen a couple of times in my whole life at the tracks.
Sunday was a lazy day and I had no energy but did manage to take Phred out for a short walk of 25 min. It was cold until the afternoon and I stayed in my PJ's most of the day. I had done 2 loads of laundry early Sat. morning b/4 we left for the races and did 2 more after we came home at about 6pm. I then did the last one on Sunday morning. I read all the Sunday paper and cut out the coupons and looked at the ads I wanted to check out at K-Mart & Target. My daughter Samra , her foster brother Jory and his girlfriend Eve sent me a $25 gift card at Target and this week they have some sport wear on sale and I would like to purchase some new workout shorts.
Monday was shot because we had Chinese food on Sunday evening and for some reason I had problems with my stomach. We have been going to the same place for years so I don't think it was the food. I kept burping and tasting the food for hours and had to take 3 tums at bedtime. I didn't fall asleep until after 1:30am so I waiting until around 3pm to take Phred for a nice 50 min. walk. Made a roast with potatoes and carrots for dinner.
Tuesday morning met up with Irene and we had a nice workout at the gym. I walked from home as the weather has started to warm up again!
Took Phred for a nice afternoon walk too. Made Chicken, couscous and French style green beans.
Night for now, off to watch TBL!
I have been stuck just under 155 for a few weeks now. I have adjusted exercise and food without much luck. I was 154.2 this morning. I want to get down to 145 again like I did at the end of Sept. 2010 for a few months and then my goal weight of 135. Some how I don't think my body wants to lose any more. When I first started out I had a higher goal weight of 150, when I knew I would hit that long b/4 my goal date, I lowered the weight. Now I don't know if I should have done that. Everyone thinks I look good but I do still want to get down to 140-145 and be able to maintain that. Oh well I will just keep trucking along.
Tomorrow my DH comes home from Chicago and we have to pick him up about 7:30pm. Traffic will be a bitch on the way to Long Beach Airport, anytime on a Friday night it is that way (I will be taking surface streets).
They are expecting more rain tomorrow and 60% on Sat. I hope it doesn't rain that much, because we are suppose to go to Santa Anita Racetrack on Sat. for the annual Harkness party that our friend sponsors. I was really looking forward to it. Most years it is not raining or even cold this late in March, current weather is 57 degrees and dropping. At least we don't have snow like my poor DH has in Chicago and his weather is 29 degrees or below.
Hoping we start to warm up soon. My fibromyalgia/RA pain gets worse when it is this cold. Spring, spring where are you??
I have always been a big fan of Liz's. She was a great person and did so much for so many who have nothing and those with aids. She was never afraid to stand up for what she believed in. She was a loyal friend to Michael Jackson when many would not have anything to do with him. She was a righteous woman, one the world will surely miss.
So this morning I took Phred the Wonder Dog to the groomer. He once again looks so cute, with the little bear face. It was after I got home that I heard about Liz. I knew it was coming and it always seems to come in 3's. Will have to wait and see which of the famous goes next?
Didn't get as much exercise in today as I would have like. I had no energy but I still managed to get over 5 1/2 miles in, so not too disappointed. Made a nice chicken breast dinner for my son and I. Kept to the lower end of my calorie allotment. Hope everyone drank their water today??
I had a very nice visit with my sister Doreen and her husband Fred. It was great to see their place because I had never been there b/4. We went to the town of Julian (an old gold mining town) for apple pie on Friday afternoon, then walked around and she purchased a nice pair of earrings for my birthday (I purchased a 2nd pair) they were on sale at 25% off.
After that we went to a very small Indian casino for dinner and then did a bit of slot machines. I put a $20 in and stopped when I hit $38. Fred was doing penny machines and he wanted to lose. I had him start to hit the max. bottom which is .20 cents and after 2 times he hit big (for this type of machine) and came out just short of $20, he started with $1.
On Sat. we met up with a friend of mine and her husband to do a hike at Borrego Anza/Springs which was fun but very cool/cold and windy. My sister had to stop a little over half way up and her husband took her down. After my friend Sandy, her DH Mike and I made it to the top, where there is a water fall and oasis, also long horn mountain goats/sheep. We started to head back, Sandy knew I wanted to get back down to check on my sister. So I jogged/ran down the mountain and made it back close to 40 min. b/4 Sandy and Mike showed up. Sandy was impressed with my time down the mountain.
The rest of the weekend was pleasant and got pretty cold. I took a morning walk on Sunday and it was about 39 degrees and I had no gloves.
Drove home and it started to rain hard within 10 min. after I got here and didn't stop all night. Lots of flooding and trees came down due to winds and rain.
Yesterday my friends Irene & Debbie took my son and I out to lunch to celebrate my birthday. It was lots of fun! Will show pictures after this weekend.
The weather has changed again and it cooled off today. The sun did come out in the late morning and was pretty nice outside. They are calling for heaving rain by Sunday and Monday (with snow again in the mountains). I will be heading to my sister's in the mountains above the San Diego area near Temecula, at the 3,500 ft elevation or so. They only expect snow above 5,000 feet and I am so glad for that. I will have my DH's truck to drive there and I am happy about that. Driving my corvette in the rain is not fun and the car (an '81) is really not made for wet roads because of some modifications.
I hope everyone had a great St. Paddy's Day and may the luck of Irish follow you where ever you go!
