Woke up to another beautiful day, although we are expecting very cold weather tonight with another storm hitting around 2-3am n Wednesday morning.
I had a dental appointment today at 10am for cleaning, unfortunately I hadn't been since 2007 and I knew I had a problem with an old filling. I had the same problem in 2006, but I had waited too long to get it checked and the tooth cracked. I had to have my first root canal on my 51st birthday. I did not want to go through that again so as soon as I could I got an appointment with either of the dentists,
Dr. Tran. or Dr. Moses. I got Dr. Tran because the other doctor was on vacation in Palm Springs, Ca. I adore Dr. Moses who just happens to be Fergies (Black Eyed Peas) godfather, how cool is that.
I was right, the old filling (silver) was starting to decay underneath the tooth. That's what happens when your fillings get old. I have only 7 fillings in my whole mouth and I had gotten them when I was 13 and 15 yrs. old. If you have read my Sparks page I will 55 on the 21st March (which is my goal date).
I had the old silver removed from both bottom sides and the upper right, but at time the left side was still OK. Dr. Moses, told me at that time if that area started to give me problems or feel strange I should get my rear end into see him.
They had an appointment canceled, so I had the upper silver removed and new white put in its place. I also had a very small cavity that he wants to do tomorrow at 1pm. Because of medical problems and other medication I am on I have to pre-medicate an hour b/4 I go. My dentists always call in prescription for about 24 pills, (antibiotics), just to make sure I have them, in case I have to return for more dental work.
I do pretty good for someone with claustrophobia but after a while I find it hard to breath and get panicky, so that is why I am returning tomorrow. After that I went to the market on the way home and it was 1pm when I got home. Had some lunch and took Phred the Wonder Dog for a walk. I started to take down the Christmas decorations, then fixed dinner and finished up taking the ornaments off the tree, sweep up all the pine needles. I will be giving the house a good cleaning in the morning and then back to the dentist at 1pm.
Went over on my calories today, sort of bummed because I ate pretty good today. Lots of veggies and stuff. Oh well too much of a good thing, I guess.

I have the rest of the week to get to my yearly goal of 30,000 exercise min. this year. I am sure, had I not been sick a good portion of Sept.& Oct. I would have reached my goal a few weeks ago. I will be happy to get past that number and I will increase my goal for 2011 to 35,000 exercise min.
I am also thinking about finding some charity walks to do in and around the OC area. I can do some jogging but I have never been a runner, don't even have the desire to run. I never get tired of walking for miles. I think this goes back to my childhood. The town I grew up in, was pretty small back in the days. If you wanted to go somewhere as a kid with your friends, you walked, rode your bike or road a horse. Being out in the fresh air, feeling the breeze and sun on your face, always brings a smile to me.
Anyway I will post my new goals on the first of January 2011 and see how much I go over my goals for 2010. Remember everyone just keep moving, drink your water and keep within your calorie range and the weight will come off. Slowly goes the turtle, so you can live a longer, healthier life!

Today was one of those S.CA days, just after we have had a good rain, when the air is clean and the sky is so clear you can see everything. The San Gabriel Mountains are covered with snow, which you can see from my back porch. I need to take a picture for you all to see how lovely the mountains look. It was warm with a lite cool breeze and we opened the windows until almost 5pm, when the cloud cover came back.
We had a sort of tradition of homemade Belgian waffles with some hamsteak for dinner tonight. Afterwards I tried to get the DH and son to walk around the neighborhood to see the lights. DH just was too tired out after Frank and he poured some more cement in the area that DH had cleared and prepared early AM. At first, they both said no, but about 15 min. later Frank said OK Mom we can go and take the dog for a 2nd walk. We had fun looking at the lite houses and seeing what the different yard ornaments could do, like move or not. A few houses had music. We think some of our neighbors try to decorate to win the city award, but no one won from our house track.
Hope you all get some great gifts from Santa this year!
