Today was one of those S.CA days, just after we have had a good rain, when the air is clean and the sky is so clear you can see everything. The San Gabriel Mountains are covered with snow, which you can see from my back porch. I need to take a picture for you all to see how lovely the mountains look. It was warm with a lite cool breeze and we opened the windows until almost 5pm, when the cloud cover came back.
We had a sort of tradition of homemade Belgian waffles with some hamsteak for dinner tonight. Afterwards I tried to get the DH and son to walk around the neighborhood to see the lights. DH just was too tired out after Frank and he poured some more cement in the area that DH had cleared and prepared early AM. At first, they both said no, but about 15 min. later Frank said OK Mom we can go and take the dog for a 2nd walk. We had fun looking at the lite houses and seeing what the different yard ornaments could do, like move or not. A few houses had music. We think some of our neighbors try to decorate to win the city award, but no one won from our house track.
Hope you all get some great gifts from Santa this year!

Well it stopped raining today for about 2 hours. My DH and I were able to do a few errands b/4 the rain started up yet again. Afterwards we stopped to pick up lunch at Wendy's where I had their 1/2 Apple Pecan Chicken Salad with Pomegranate dressing. Except for the fact they could have left out the blue cheese chucks, I don't really care for blue cheese, it was pretty tasty. The heaviest of the rain are suppose to hit S.CA sometime tonight and not stop till Thursday afternoon. We will have some warmer weather for a couple of days, not sure if we are going to get any sunshine. Then it is suppose to start raining again on Christmas day at some point.
I am pretty glad at this point that we did not start construction on the house like we were suppose to do starting in the middle of Nov. We will be doing the construction in the summer. It may be hot but at least I won't have mud in the house everyday. Wait I do have mud in the house, because the dog brings it in through his dog door. Mopping has become an exercise in futility.
Can't get rid of DH's dog but wish DH would learn to clean up after the dog. Oh wait he has me to do it . I walk Phred, feed him, clean up the yard, take him to the vet and the son bathes him or I take the dog to the groomer. Whose dog is this anyways. Oh yeah, DH gives Phred junk to eat and lets him sleep with him.
Oh well could have done better on my food the last couple of days but the weather just gets me down and my RA & fibro. just kicks in and hurts. I have been exercising, which is good.
Have a nice evening everyone!

The weather people have a lot to talk about with this storm a coming our way. It hasn't stopped raining since Thursday afternoon and is suppose to continue until Wednesday or Thursday. Some mountain road are already closed down and at the lower elevations of about 3,000 ft. or so snow is already a big factor. There will be lots of skiing this year in the local areas.
Went and got my haircut this morning and went out to lunch with Irene at Polly's. Ordered their 1/2 Avocado, Alfalfa Sprouts, tomato and lettuce on crack wheat bread, with 3/4C of Chicken w/rice. Had nice visit with her sister Sandy too. Irene got called into work early so we had to cut out day short. We want to walk on Tuesday if there is a break in the weather. If it is just light continuous rain I have not problem but don't like doing long walks in downpours.
Read the paper after I got home. Talked to my daughter Samra to see how she is doing on her new job with Target. She had just gotten off work and was waiting for the bus. She was glad to talk to me while she waited. No rain where she is right now but pretty cold in the evenings, she is just outside of Tempe. Called my sister Linda in NY, but just got the answering machine, so left a message. Did about 30 min. of housework, made dinner (Chicken Breasts, mashed potatoes, 90 calorie crescent rolls and a big salad (Romaine) with 8 oz. of 1% milk.
Going to take a break off the site in a moment to go get some exercise done. I will walk in place for about 90 min. I think tonight. Be back in about 2 hours.
