Started out good today, was pretty cool this morning but the sun came out and I finally got some Christmas shopping done. I went over to Sears where I had a coupon that if you spent over $50 on clothes you got $10 off. I spent over $100 b/4 the deduction and got a $10 gift card back that I can use after the $26th. I also had a $30 AMEX gift card that I got from one of my survey sites. So did pretty good at buying stuff for my son, Frank. He wanted some nice jeans. I thought I would get him some Levi's and was shocked to find that if they hadn't been on sale he wouldn't have gotten one pair of them. I got him 1 pair on sale at $32.99 normally 49.99. When did Levi's start to cost so much!! I use to get 501's for $8.99 at the local feed store, of course this was the early 1970's. The ones I got for my son were not the 501's they were on sale for $39.99 normally $54.99. I am sorry but that is just too much for a pair of work pants. I ended up getting Frank one pair of Dickies and one pair of men's Wranglers. Also got him 2 t-shirts and some boxer's. Oh my there was another price shocker. I got the store brand on sale, 3 pair in the bag and it was 14.99 (on sale). When did men's under things start to cost as much as women's stuff. I guess I need to get out of Target and Kmart to see what people are spending on these things. Gee would a pair cost $20 at Macy's LOL
After Sears on the far end of the parking lot is Trader Joe's. Just my favorite place in the whole world but I only go a few times a year. I went in to get chocolate covered coffee beans for my foster son Jory and my friend Irene. I had to look around, and for those who have been in one of these stores, you know they are always doing samples. I tried the TJ's Baklava, one of my favorite desserts. Purchased some to take home, should have known better and had 1.5 servings for a total of 320 calories. Did purchase a nice healthy dinner to make until my husband announced he wanted pizza. What is a woman to do. I will make the vegetables and scallops tomorrow night.

Woke up this morning to another beautiful day in CA. My DH decided since we haven't been able to get more of the construction on our house done that we will be knocking down the fireplace Tuesday and Wednesday. Lucky for me I will be gone most of the day on Wednesday to meet up with my sister (Firey1) and possibly my friend Sandy (SubSmith) in Lake Elsinor for an early lunch. Should be fun!
Anyway the DH decided since we have this large box in the living room with the new stove inside that we had to get a real Christmas tree since there was no room for my fake one. We covered the box with some Christmas decorated blankets and got a 4" tree to set on the top. We watered the tree today and will decorate in tomorrow. Also the plan is to start to take down the fireplace during the day. Should be at least a 2 day job and with the weather holding warm for a few more days (no rain). We stopped at the market on the way home to pick up some stuff for dinner and the roasts were all on sale 1/2 price. So we had pork loin tonight and I also picked up 2 other types of roasts, like chuck.
Got back home from Loews and Stater Brothers market about 11:30am and then I fixed lunch for us both. Afterwards I did an exercise dvd and showered. Took Phred for a walk and we finished putting the lights on the house. Not too many because my husband threw away our lights during the year. Why? Because when he took them down last year he just put them in an old car we had. They were all in knots so he tossed them when I wasn't looking. So now he had to buy new ones, which he wanted to do anyways to get LED's. I only have whites lights and they are not my pretty ones that look like icicles.
After dinner we went off to Fry's Electronics (like a bigger Best Buy) if you live in a state that doesn't have them. My son Frank came along and we picked him up a nice scanner/printer in one for Xmas. At 24, he needs to be with us to pick these things out because he is picky. I got him an extra cartridge to put in his stocking. Also got my DH a dvd when he wasn't looking that Frank thought he would like. This was really the first shopping we have got done for the holidays and I tell you we were sure we would have to wait in line for at least 1/2 hour. There was hardly anybody in the store. Will have to remember next year that Monday evenings at Frys is the time to hit that store for shopping.
Today was a great day for exercise and nutrition goals. I hit all my goals, keeping within my ranges. for me. This doesn't happen very often even if I keep within the calorie range. Normally I either don't have enough calcium or too much salt. Always something.
Oh yeah, when ever I go to the store and get change, I always put it in the charity containers they have at the registers. I have no idea how much I give out each year but I don't really care, it is the thought that counts. Anyways I saw my first "Bell Ringer/Salvation Army" person just outside of Frys and I put $5 inside her red bucket. She was so jazzed and told me I was blessed. Am I blessed, well I don't know but I do feel like I am. How about you?

I just wanted to let all my Sparks buddies know that I am not ill or anything along those lines. I just had what I call "PC Burnout". Before I started doing Sparks I would only go online maybe 2 or 3 times a week. For a solid year I was online most of the time everyday for 4 -5 hours. I started to have some trouble with my fibromyalgia but never really thought anything about it. I saw my Rhuematologist last Monday and even with everything great (bloodwork) wise I was having trouble with my fingers, hands, feet, toes and lower back. I was having trouble sleeping and just wasn't following the program like I should have been. Anyway the doctor put my back on a medication that I was suppose to start on Monday but was unable to pick up until Wednesday. He also told me to take a break from the pc for a few days until the meds kicked in. Anyway I am fine and couldn't be happier with how I am feeling now.
