I just decided to take it easy for a few days. I am still having problems with the fibromyaligia because of the cold rainy weather that has hit S.CA. Did pick up the other 2 pieces of new bedroom furniture, so spent the day yesterday getting it all settled in and repacking. Seeing where I wanted to put stuff. I will have to go through each drawer and really organize it all better.
We ended up having pizza last night and ordered 3 small canoli's. Thank goodness they are the mini ones but are really great. Today I roasted a chicken with potatoes and carrots. It turned out great and now I am boiling down the carcass for broth and soup. I want to use the broth for Thanksgiving. Looks like I will be cooking because we still haven't started the construction on the house. Now it looks with the time frame we are looking at doing it in blocks, so it may take up to a year to finish. Oh well it will get done eventually, only waited 25+ years, what's another, right?
It was cold and rainy all day so I cleaned the house. Just didn't have the energy to do an exercise dvd because my hands and feet are burning so much. DH wants me to rest until I feel better. Can't even walk Phred in the cold and rain, he hates the rain. My old dog Lucy loved to walk in any weather but she had very short hair. Phred being part poodle has the curly hair and when he is wet, man oh man, does he smell like a dog. LOL

Hi all, I am doing so much better today. I met up with Sandy over at the park where I normally do my turn a round to return to Lincoln with my friend Irene. We had a nice visit and a little over 3 mile walk. Sandy is the one who got me to join Sparks and unfortunately things have gotten in her way to losing weight. She is still where I started but is really trying to make an effort to get back into getting off the weight.
She does a lot of strength training but not enough cardio. She seems to be having some problems with possible asthma but can't get her current doctor to give her a breathing test. They took an x-ray and said her lungs looked good. Well duh! That is not how you check for asthma, maybe lung cancer or pneumonia but not always a way to really know if someone has asthma. She may have exercise induced and that is a whole other test. What is wrong with these doctors. She now has health insurance, that her family didn't have for years. When she was paying for everything, the doc's had no problem scheduling test, because she was paying for them. Now with insurance they won't schedule anything without approval and because the chest x-ray was normal, no way. Makes me so mad I want to spit at someone LOL
Anyway after we got back to our cars I had to head over to the other side of town to pay our car insurance at AAA. After I get back my DH tells me our son Jory has called and the brakes went out on his girlfriends car and it is going to take all of his pay-check to get it fixed and that will leave him with only $13 dollars.
So DH goes over to his bank and gets $200 cash and comes home. I walked Phred while waiting for DH to get back. I then head over to Walmart, so they will get the cash tomorrow and not have to wait a few days.
One reason we sent this is because they went out to OK and picked up our daughter Samra which cost them $1500 and used Eve's car. So DH figures maybe it may have done something to her brakes or not. Either way we sent them the money.
We planned on giving them some money when they come out for Thanksgiving next week anyway. Samra got a job already at the local Target and she won't be able to come home. She is a little upset because Eve & Jory don't plan to come to CA for Christmas this year because Eve's family is headed for Mexico. I told her she will get to come home at Easter for sure. She is now in AZ instead of OK, which one can drive in less than a day, pretty easily. So I am thinking maybe I will have to drive for a short visit b/4 then. Maybe in Jan. because the 9th is Samra's 26th birthday.
Hope you all have had a great day. Our weather has been great the few days but is suppose to cool off tomorrow with rain again. So bad, seems every time I make plans to visit with my sister in San Diego area the weather turns. She lives in the mountains at the 5,000 + foot level, sometimes it snows. My car is not a good car to drive in the snow or rain. I plan on going Monday morning, so it is suppose to start warming off again by then. Wish me luck OK

Woke up this morning in a lot of achy pain with my hands, shoulders, hips and lower back. I figured it was from holding the 20 inch, 5 pound electric trimmer for 50 + min. yesterday. The last two time I have trimmed those topiary's my eyes have started to water and my nose run. So didn't feel all that great after I finished up yesterday.
During the night the weather cooled off a lot, from the lower 80's to maybe the high 60's, possibly low 70's by 1pm or so. We had fog until 10am, so that may have had something to do with how I felt this morning. Since I have several medical problems that I normally ignore it was not surprising at all. My fibro really was bad, my asthma was giving me problems and it was sort of a I feel really crappy day today. So I just took a break but I plan to be up in the morning to exercise, no matter the weather. Poor Phred did not get a walk today and he gets a bit crazy if he doesn't get his exercise. I suppose I do too.
This picture just sort of describes how I felt today.

I got up around 8:30am and had promised to make home made waffles for my husband. I had barely left the bathroom and there he was going "Hungry, Hungry, Hungry! Waffles". I was I just got up and I will just jump at the chance to make you some waffles (sarcasm). Anyway he got the first, my son got up for college and he got second one. I finish making another 4 or 5 to put in the freezer and finally ate mine, with warmed up frozen Blackberries and only 1 TB. of real maple syrup. I mix the fruit with the syrup to make a compote I pour over my waffle which gives me a fruit serving without too many calories from the syrup.
I then did the morning dishes (hand washing), cleaned up the kitchen, sat down to read the morning paper. I realized I need to go to the store to get milk and it was already 11am. After I got back I ate lunch, then took Phred for a walk and came back. Decided while I watched GH I would walk in place for 30 min. using my pedometer.
After that I cut up all the vegetables for the pot roast (chuck) I purchased at the market for dinner. Fresh white mushrooms, baby red potatoes, small white onion and garlic with some spices. After I put the meat in the oven I went out and trimmed another of my topiary's, the tea pot.
For some reason I felt really tired out. Most likely, because I was trying to stay awake last night and watch "The Walking Dead", that was on at 11pm, but I fell asleep about half way through the show. Oh, well, I always seem to see only the beginning of the show.
Dinner was ready about 6:20pm and both my DH and son raved about the mushrooms. This surprised both DH and myself because my son doesn't like mushrooms very much. Maybe he doesn't like the brown ones and I will use the white ones from now on.
I feel like I didn't get much done today and went over my calorie count too.

Every once in a while I hit it 100%. I stayed within my food goals like calcium, sodium and other things that I keep track of everyday. I am almost always over on sodium by just a a few points or so everyday. Oh well, I really try to keep that level low and it is compared to a lot of other people I know (taking about my husband and son).
Read some of the Sunday paper and took Phred out for a walk. It was very nice and warm today, with a nice light breeze. So different from the other day when I was walking in a constant 15-16 mph with gusts of 25-50 mph.
Later in the day took Frank out to buy him a new pair of sneakers. We got them on sale at Skechers with tax for just under $40. Dropped him off at the house and then headed over to K-Mart. Why? Well, it seems with some of the construction we have started, we now have a mouse in the house. Only happened one other time over 10 yrs. ago.
Phred the wonder dog is scared of it or them. This is a Jack Russell mix, they are suppose to be rat killers, so why does he run and hide. Oh, I don't know if he really does that, but my husband said he is scared of it! My husband got the scare of his life, by the mouse the other night. He decided to get up and go into his office and play on his computer. The mouse was on his desk and it ran right across his hand. LOL
Funny thing is, the other day I thought I saw something move fast out of the corner of my eye. My first thought was "Oh no, not again", and I didn't say anything because the last time I said we had mice, my family just ignored me for a few days until someone else also saw it or them. So now we have 4 traps around the house, in hopes the little "buggers" will like the dried pumpkins seeds I put in them. The only thing they seem to be eating at the moment is the dog food, again poor Phred is protecting his food. LOL But not in a brave way, he growls and snaps and turns tail, runs back to either my husband or I in the living room. Of course, by the time we get up, the suckers are gone! Quoting Mr. Jinks, the cat on the old cartoon show, Pixie & Dixie "I hate those meeses to pieces" !
