Just another day in paradise or not.

Saturday, November 13, 2010

Really it was a beautiful day today in sunny S.CA. Warm weather in the upper 70's. Woke up late, just after 9am and fell asleep I know b/4 11pm while watching "Sanctuary". So glad I have a timer on the tv in the bedroom, hate to wake up in the middle of the night with the tv still on.
Read most of the Sat. b/4 taking Phred for a walk, came home and had a snack then did an exercise dvd, ate lunch, showered. Now it is after 3pm: Where did the day go???
Off to the market for a few things. When I get back DH want to head over to Lowes so I offer to buy dinner for us. We drag our son Frank along and then head over to this great hamburger place called Knoelwoods for dinner. I have their Salmon burger on sour dough and a few of the guys french fries with a no calorie Lipton Green tea with peach flavor. Now, I normally stay away from anything with peach flavor, because it never tastes very good to me. Boy, was I glad I tried this stuff, it is great tasting. I filled my cup 3 times and was glad it was no calorie.
Also did an early wiegh in this morning just to see if I am back on track and I was 147.4, so happy to see that.

Sort of busy day

Friday, November 12, 2010

All I did was housework, walk the dog and exercising with my pedometer by walking/jogging in place for 62 min. Other than that it was pretty calm with Jeff gone with buddies over to Pomona for the NHRA races today. Bye all

Sometimes it's nice to have time to yourself. 62 minutes of cardio is very impressive! emoticon

Doing well and back on track.

Thursday, November 11, 2010

After being sick for much of Sept. and Oct. I gained 7 pounds and was 152# when I left for Las Vegas with DH on Nov. 3rd. I did a lot of walking and made sure I got up early to walk outside in the mornings and also around the hotel in the evening. I came back and weighed myself on Sunday and was 149.4. I was shocked because of all the rich food I had eaten, but was glad to be under 150# again. I have not got back on the scale this week and will wait for Sunday. I have been exercising and doing pretty good on my calorie intake. Hope I lose at least another pound this week.
Yesterday I cut up and cleaned the pumpkin we got for free this year. I did not use it outside. I cooked it up and put the pulp in the food processor and will make bread, cookies and if I have enough pie from scratch. I cleaned the seeds and dried them over-night and roasted them in the oven today. They turned out pretty good and are good for you.
Since we took out our dishwasher when the new one came I have been hand washing all the dishes. I do not want to put the new one in with the old pluming and will wait until I get my new kitchen completed. It seems bwt the 3 meals a day and snacks that the household uses, I am doing dishes all the time. I know you only burn about 47 calories for every 20 mins. but it does add up. LOL

Every calorie counts - going out as well as coming in! emoticon

I hope you are using rubber gloves with all that hand dish washing - it's what's saved my hands for many years (that plus lotion)

Pawn Stars/Hoover Dam. Our last day in LV

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

DH (Jeff and I) took one day to drive around Vegas &
If you watch "Pawn Stars" then no explanation is needed.

Maybe he is trying to pawn me off to the "Taxi Driver's"

go over to Hoover Dam. I had not been there since the early 1970's and when he was there 3 years ago the new by-pass bridge was not completed. It open a few months back and it is something to see. Next time we will park at the lot where you walk a switch back up to the bridge and then across. I am sure it would be a couple of miles.

Looking at the new by-pass bridge from Hoover Dam

The new visitors center, this is also where the new elevator is that takes you down inside the dam.

It's a long way down!

I am saying "Hi from Hoover Dam". You all need to come and see this sometime!

Jeff doing the tourist thing! We are here *

Having dinner and laughs at Bucca De Beppo's with the gang.
This is the end, I promise. LOL

SEMA show Las Vegas Part 2

Tuesday, November 09, 2010

More pictures of the show.
I love the "Gull Wings" on this car, I almost purchased a DeLoren back in the day. Oh my "Back to the Future".

Kanga's or Wallaby's?? Don't know for sure but they love hugging their Australian tires.

Old road racing car, neat-o!

I want, I want, I want to go racing. Gentleman, start your engines!

Love this color and stripping

Sidecar bike, next pictures shows the sidecar, very strange looking but pretty cool, too.

Is this a "Monster Bike"? Don't know but looks like something Dad & Jr. would do for this show.

Anybody remember "R-A-T-T F-I-N-K! Ratt Fink?" If not ask your parents.

Original "Bat Mobile" from the TV series.

Munster Car from the 60's TV series.

That is all the pictures I will put here on my blog about SEMA. You got to love all the beautiful cars. Tomorrow I will do Hoover Dam and the new by pass bridge.

I am doing well and feeling good. Keeping up with exercising and staying within my calorie range too. Thank goodness. Hope any one who reads this enjoys the pictures.
