Sort of a nice day today, talked to my sister and daughter too

Sunday, October 24, 2010

Woke up this morning and was a bit cloudy but no rain today. Went to the market to get a feds items after I did my LS:5 mile walking dvd in 63 min. Still forgot banana's but didn't make ir over to the produce section so no surprise because I didn't write them on the list. I get banana's just about everytime I go to the market.

Spent this morning on the phone with my daughter in OK. Samra is moving to AZ on Halloween weekend and her boyfriend has not been very kind to her the few months. Last night she had enough and told him to leave the apt. It was hers and he was living there, so she can do that without a problem. He is suppose to get his stuff out and she has been packing her stuff for about a week now. She is excited to start her new life in AZ. My foster son Jory and his girlfriend Eve, who just happens to be one of Samra's best friends are getting her. She will live with them until she can get her act together. They are going to help her find work. She has been on food stamps since moving to OK and the lady told her there would be no problem transfering to a new state. I told her now she doesn't have a job, she will be able to get medical coverage. I hate that she has been living off the government, even with having a full time job. The pay just wasn't enough in OK for her to be able to make it without some type of government help. How sad is that?

Also talked to my sister Linda, whom I wrote about yesterday. She is also packing and looking forward to starting a new life. I sort of knew that something was wrong and she told me she had hoped that Liz (her wife) would change her mind but not to be. Linda likes her new job and I know for sure she will be fine. Liz wants to move to Isreal, which Linda did not want to do. They vacationed there a few years ago and Linda said it was lovely and sort of reminded her of S.CA but very dangerous. They even had a bomb go off a block from where they were staying.

Anyway my son Frank and I took Phred out for a short walk this afternoon and my husband has worked all day so I expect him home sometime around 8pm or so. Good money, double time on Sundays! We can use it. Won't be much work after the beginning of Nov. for a few months. Sort of the reason we are doing the construction on our home at that time. He isn't working and we all have the time.

Amazing Race on at 8pm and I need to watch 60 Min. at 7pm.

Rained in morning, clear in afternoon, some what sad day.

Saturday, October 23, 2010

Was able to take Phred out for a 40 min. walk at 3:30pm today. Weather had cleared up some by then and I was tired for no reason so I figured it would wake me up.

I had gone out to CVS and KMart this morning. Came home and cleaned my new refrigerator. My son was "Why are you doing that you just got it.?" I was like "Yes two weeks ago and I am going to keep it looking like new". At Kmart, I picked up some containers to use in the frig. to help keep the shelves clean. Much easier to clean out some plastic bins, then have to clean all the shelves every time I turn around. My men are not the cleanest people, they will use something like maple syrup & if it runs down the side they just put it back instead of cleaning off the side with a sponge or towel.

I heard from my sister today that she and her partner of 18 yrs. are splitting up. My sis, Linda is already packing and will be out of the apartment by the end of the month. I knew something was wrong for a while but I never figured they would split up after all this time together. My sister will be 60 in a couple of weeks, has been married twice to men and this time her 3rd marriage to a women. She has never lived alone and she is looking forward to having her own place. She was married at 17 in 1967 because she was pregnant, then after that marriage was over married to her 2nd husband for 18 or 19 yrs. She went right into a relationship with Liz. I hope she will find happiness being on her own because marriage has not been too lucky for her. Oh well, life goes on.

Peace and happiness to all my Sparks friends tonight! emoticon

It is probably what your sister needs--to be on her own. Like others who have already posted here, I was married for a long time--32 years--not a happy marriage and when he passed away, I found myself completely on my own for the first time in my life. I have problems, yes, mostly money, but I kind of like being responsible to no one...

Were you surprised when she married for the third time to a girl? I hope things workout for her. Sounds like she's a bit confused as to what she wants as a partner.

I'm not sure what kind of a refrigerator you have, but I'd LOVE to know what type of containers you got to put on your shelves. I have a standard, freezer on top, refrigerator on bottom, with two drawers at the bottom. If you can find a link, or even pictures, let me know. You can spark mail me. Sounds like such an awesome thing cause I HATE cleaning the shelves, but not as much as the little cubby shelves in the door though.

I'm sorry about your sister. I have a good friend who was married once to an abusive husband when she was really young, then got divorced, then married a man that was really good to her. I met them both about 10 years ago. They seemed so happy together. They were married for27 years this year but in March he left her so he could be with a guy. She was devastasted but also trying to rebuild her life on her own. It's getting better for her. Hopefully your sister will find her way through this and come out of it with a new sense of herself and build a life she wants, whether it's with or without someone. I've been happily single for about 12 or 13 years. I was married for 16 then divorced and on my own for 6, then in another relationship for 2 1/2 years when I broke that off. I have learned so much from being on my own and hopefully your sister will too, regardless of whatever the future holds in the way of relationships. I also know from your part it's hard to see her go through this.

Rain seems to be clearing up for now??

Friday, October 22, 2010

I did a lot of housework this morning while the weather decided it might stop raining for a while. I was able to take Phred on a 27 min. walk at 3pm. and it felt really good to be outside, in the fresh air. After being housebound for the last couple of weeks, except for going to my aunts funeral 2 weeks ago, it was wonderful to walk in the cool breeze. Phred enjoyed it very much too.
DH is working late tonight and I am waiting for "Medium" at 8pm. I hope, haven't checked in the paper, hope no specials are on. I really love that show.
Going to talk to my sister tomorrow. Saw something she posted on FB that sort of shook me up. Don't want to say here until I know for sure. Hope it was just a mistake or something.
You all have a nice evening.

Rain again

Thursday, October 21, 2010

Got up to rain again so couldn't take Phred out for a walk. Maybe tomorrow it won't rain. I did 1 exercise dvd, LS:Bootcamp 3 miles and resistance band workouts in 45 min. along with the 10 min. stomach workout at the end. I also did an old VHS tape of Denise Austin's for 28 min. that is a full body workout but non aerobic.

Jeff only worked half day today and works tomorrow too.

Irene and Debbie stopped by the house after stopping by the post office for me to buy me a book of stamps. What a nice friend. I mentioned that I didn't want to go out in the rain and get some so she volunteered. I paid her $10 which she said was too much but I figured the rest was for her time and kindness. She and Debbie came to see the new W/D and refrigerator. I also showed them the plans for the house redo and gave Debbie 2 pair of pants that I picked up cheaply but knew were too small for me. They fit her find and she could use them. She has been out of work for a while and just got picked up at Costco full time through the holidays and they said they were going hire permanently. She need a few more pair of pants for the job.

Doing my exercises but not keeping to my calorie count down. I need to really start doing that again but first things first. Get back into the exercise thing and then cut the calories is easier for me then just jumping back into everything at once. Also have been invited to bowl with my daughters best friend from Jr. and High School sometime on Sat. Will wait to see if it happens but should be fun. I haven't seen Sarah in a while. Samra and her were always together.

I'm struggling with my calories too. Some days its good then I have a day (usually 2 or 3 times a week) when I just blow it all up.
We had rain yesteray too. A cold rain like winter, not the nice rains of summer. Hopefully today will be better for you and poor Phred can get a good walk.

Too bad that it is still raining! Poor Phred! Debbie DOES sound like a good friend. Know that she is saying the same thing about you for tipping her and giving her 2 new pair of pants! Hang in there........... emoticon emoticon emoticon

Glad to be feeling better and somewhat back to normal

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

I am sorry tired of being sick. Seems like I wasn't feeling well most of September and then the beginning of October too. I went to the doctor a week ago Monday and was put on antibiotics. At that time I was running a temperature anywhere from 96.8 to 102 degrees and I had no voice. Jeff went to the doctor's today and got on medicine too.
I did a short LS exercise dvd on Monday for 3 miles, did the marketing yesterday and was very tired out. Did a LS dvd today along with an old Denise Austin VHS that runs for 28 min. for a full body non aerobic workout. Felt pretty good but not too tired out.
May walk Phred tomorrow morning with or without Irene. Poor boy has only been out a few times with my son Frank. In fact my husband got him to take him out this evening w/o me even having to mention it. I think the rain has stopped for a few days and I know we needed the rain but enough already.
Hope everyone is doing good tonight.

It's been a rough cold, flu, and allergy season already and we're not even through autumn yet! Hope you continue to improve. I hope too that since you've been getting it over with you won't have any other illnesses "plaguing" you this year.

Hope you feel better after all this we'll pray for you.

Have a great weekend.

I'm glad you're starting to feel better. Being sick like that for long periods of time can drain us so much emotionally and mentally as well as the physical aspects. Take care of yourself and build yourself back up again without rushing. Listen to your body. Missed hearing from you lately.

I know what you mean, I have been struggling with being sick and on prednisone for a month. I just got off the prednisone over the weekend. They said on the news tonight that it hasn't rained here since September 25, 2010. That it will start raining on the weekend. I thought, oh no, I'm feeling better now, it just ain't fair.

I'm glad you're feeling a little better.
