Well, it was 102 degrees today and it is currently at 7:30pm 95 degrees. It was hotter at the Long Beach than here today, they were at 109, right at the beach. Go figure that out. Jeff worked in Newport Beach on the docks today and just about died. Came home and crashed on the couch for about 1 1/2 hours. I walked Phred about 6:3pm and it was still 95 degrees.
I did a lot of housework today for 2 1/2 hours straight, did my 30 twister workout and Phreds walk. Off to take a shower and waiting for "House" to come on at 8pm.
Ya all have a nice night. My Cali friends keep cool and drink lost of H2O.

Currently it is 8pm and 90 degrees and we are looking at 101 Monday & 95 on Tuesday. They call this "Indian" summer. Where was our summer during the summer. Now we get hot weather, so strange. Yes, it is. La Nina, they say instead of El Nino.
Poor husband is working tomorrow at Newport Beach, he is an IBEW electrician and his company did all the electrical for the yatch show. He will suffer being in the heat all day long on the docks, pulling heavy cable and the sun reflecting off the water. He will be very tired and hot when he gets home tomorrow. Oh yeah forgot crouchy too.
Did the normal Sunday routine, marketing but early b/4 10am, never walked Phred today, just too hot. Will have to get early early tomorrow if we are gonna beat the heat. Read the Sunday paper, did LS dvd 4 fast miles plus my twister machine for 30 min.
Jeff went over to our friend George's, the architech, and came home with 5 plans to the redo to choose from. We all picked the same one and I think the new kitchen, living, laundry area and extended bathroom with be marvelous. I will be posting the b/4 pics soon and then after we are done, so you all can see what our hard work has done to the house.

Today was OK went with Jeff over to Loews, then with Frank to our local museum in Santa Ana call "Bowers". Got to see and hear a lecture on Korea, which was really interesting. They gave each person a choice of books to take so Frank got part 1 which was about their art history and I got the part 2 on their sciene and tectnology. We also got to sample Korean food for free and the best part was we got in free today because the Smithsonian was paying. They have a special every year all around the country where our government pays for 2 people to attend the museum of their choice. I will post some pictures tomorrow because I am off to bed in just a few mins.

The new windows for the back side of the house were installed today. I took Phred out for a walk and then over to the groomers for the day. They said he could stay until just after 4pm. Unfortunately the guys were not quit done with the last part of the installation but Phred only bark a little bit.
Since Irene had to stay late this morning at her ROP math class I took Frank with bowling since his college class got canceled. We had a good time but took me a couple of games to get into the swing of things. All my games were over 100 but the last three were 126, 139 & 159, we played a total of 6 games. If Frank could ever learn to control his curve he would be deadly. The weather was 94 degrees today and we had to to turn off the house A/C, so that is why Frank and I got out to somewhere with A/C.
Other than that just another day in paradise , as they say. If only there were not so many people, it would be paradise.

I read the blog today on Sparks member NANJET, about it being only 100 days till the end of the year. I can not believe how far I have come since Nov. '09. To be honest I never thought I would stick with Sparks when I started. I joined in June '09, and didn't do anything with it until November. I always had a reason not to start.
1st. I had a Lupus Flare up in March '09 and my doctor put me on high doses of prenidsone (a steroid), so in June I wasn't mentally ready to start anything. I even had to drop out of college for the 4th time in the past 30+ yrs.
2nd. Everyone gains weigh on steroids and it is difficult to lose.
3rd. We went on vacation summer of '09 going from our home in Anaheim, CA to CO, across Kansas to MO then down to OK and back. I tried to watch what I ate but it is impossible to think about dieting when you have so much good food to eat.
I had a doctor's appointment at the beginning of November and talk to him about Sparks People. He told me I would not be able to lose weight as long as I was on the prenidsone. Well that pretty much pissed me off and I decided right then that I would prove him wrong and I have. LOL
I have lost pretty slowing but consistently, I was 200 and had only lost 4 pounds on my own. At first, I was just glad to lose the first 5 pounds in my first week. I knew that it would slow down to 1-2 pounds after that, but I saw how well I did and kept going. Every time I saw my doctor I had lost some more weight and he asked me about the site. He wanted to use it himself and a few of the nurses were now interested once I had got down to 170 by Easter.
After a while I got more involved with the site and groups. I became a co-leader of the first group I joined and started participating in more groups. During this summer '10r, I was on 2 summer challenges and low and behold I won both of them!
How did I do this? I became more active, I joined our local county hiking club, doing hikes & kayaking. I still go to the gym too but not inclusively. I am bowling again, getting pretty good too. I never thought I would be able to do that after I have cervical spine surgery in Nov. '06. I walk everyday and do some kind of exercise dvd , too.
At this point, I want to thank my friend Sandy who got me involved with the site. I have told her over and over again that she really saved my life. She is still not near her goal but I keep encouraging her and she tells me I am an inspiration to her. I have had several friends who have said they would not even know me if they walked right by me now. LOL Of course I would never let a friend pass me by without stopping them to see how they are doing, give them a hug, and say "Hello".
Only 100 days to my goal and I am sure now that I will make it. Of course if you had asked me when I started if I would still be here, I am not sure I could of answered "yes". Now I know I will always want to be a member of this loving community.
I want to thank all my Sparks friends and the groups that I belong to for their encouragement, kind words and laughs. Peace, Love & Blessings to you all.
