Lazy daze

Monday, September 20, 2010

Got up early and planned on doing a lot but really didn't get too much done at all. Did four loads of laundry and a lot of stuff on Sparks and other sites. I had things to catch up on after being gone all weekend. Did a small amount of housework and walked Phred for only 27 min.for 1.44 miles. I went over my cal. by 34, Damm.
Just got a call from my friend Irene and I have been invited to the Angel game. The season is over so we are just going for a good time. That is about it for today.

Corvette Rally weekend in S.CA mountains and high desert!

Sunday, September 19, 2010

The starting place for the rally. This is at the train station In Anaheim, CA, located at the edge of the parking lot for the Anaheim Angels baseball team. That is the Grove in the background, a event place for concerts and stuff.

A little blurry but this is my corvette.

This is the old Cliff House restaurant along the Rim of the World Hwy. Anyone who has seen the Nicholas Cage movie "Next", may recognize it.?? This place use to have the best food but started to fall down the mountain so it has been closed for a number of years.

Our friends from Missouri, Kevin & Brian. Cliff House in background.

Guess who? and my husband Jeff, our backs are facing West toward the Pacific, far away!

Big Bear Lake, Jeff posing with his catch of the day LOL "Fishing Line Slime", just don't eat it, will make you sick!! emoticon

Big Bear Lake. Beautiful day!

The first place we stopped on the 2nd day. One of the apple orchards over in Oak
Glen, CA
The lovely couple. Only wish Jeff hadn't had that old cig in his hand!

Another lovely view, this one on the hwy. to Idyllwild, CA. Very narrow, tight, on the edge road up this mountain, great fun in the corvettes.

This is a 1972 that belongs to our friend John. John and his brother Bill met up with us on Sunday morning in Banning for this part of the run.
I even did pretty good on food. Kept to healthy stuff and did 2.20 miles in 35 min. on the treadmill at the hotel after we arrived. Had a wonderful salmon dinner at this great family run restaurant in Banning. Did not really keep track but had a lot of fun and walking around too.

Xena, great pictures and very nice car!!! My husband's cousin (my hair dresser) has a 1974 (I think it is) corvette! My oldest son wants it really bad... hee hee.

I'll have to show that restaurant to my husband. He watches all the Nicholas cage movies... wonder if he'll recognize it. I'll let you know.

You do look great and good job getting on the treadmill still! Inspiration to us all! Keep it up and thanks for sharing!!!

RHS Group day at the LA County Fair and race track!

Friday, September 17, 2010

This is only some of the members of my RHS group. That is me in the red dress on the end. Then Diana, Susan & Cathy in front, behind Diana in back is Marcia (our queen) Corrine, & Martha. Most of the gals hadn't seen me in about a year or so. They couldn't hardly believe their eyes when they saw me.
I had a great time at the races too. My first bet was free because you get a freebie when you purchase the package for the buffet lunch at the race and entrance to the fairgrounds. I placed my first bet on the 5th race and won $113. Our friend who owns race horse's always tells us to bet to win and bet what you can afford to lose. Most of the time your gonna lose but if your horse comes in you'll do good. He say's never bet on "place" or "show" because they are sucker bets. I always $5. I missed one race and was so mad because I didn't get a chance to do my bet because our group at to go down to the winner's circle for a picture.
Of course the horse I was gonna bet on won big and I would have won at around $146. emoticon. I still came home $70 ahead for the whole day.
I ate pretty good, I only had the veggies, salad no dressing, 1 sm. wheat roll and 1 sm. chicken breast. I did have 1 pc. each of carrot & cheese cake, but they are very small.
I also did 2 miles on a LS dvd in the morning b/4 I left and we walked around the fair grounds afterward bwt. 3-4 hours.
Today was busy too. My husband got home from work around 11:30am and he had about 6 Corvette buddies over and I order pizza and canoli's. Yum but they are small and I only had one. I also got up early this morning and walked 3 miles with the Phredster. I wash the corvette this evening so got some good exercise.
We are up early tomorrow for a small corvette rally up to Big Bear/Lake Arrowhead area of the San Bernardino Mts. here in S.CA. Won't be back on site until Sunday evening or Monday.
Hope you all have a fun weekend too! Peace out everyone!

New Washer/Dryer arrived today.

Thursday, September 16, 2010

My new W/D arrived today and they are so pretty. Now I just got to figure out how to use the darn things. These are front loader's so require the HE detergent and gave my reg. Tide to the family accross the street. New bottle of color water and another of reg. tide. Also Tide stain packets because they don't work in them either but you can use the liquid. Will head over to Costco on Friday to buy their HE brand because I was told it was cheaper but worked as well?? Anybody know?? Did some cleaning and took Phred for a nice walk. Went with hubby over to Lowes and looked at more stuff. Off to bed soon, will be gone tomorrow all day at the LA County Fair with my RHS gals. Good night all.

Enjoy the front loaders, I have a set and it really made a difference on my electric bill. I had no idea how much electricity my dryer was burning. Washing clothes can be a fun chore now with new appliances!

I love the front loader. I use regular sometimes - I have not had a problem with it. Because my kids have skin allergies I use All free but I think anyone would be good. Enjoy them.

I had thought a few months ago about getting new W/D set - mine are over 10 years old and I've been having to jam a wad of paper into the dryer's door so it doesn't pop open. It works fairly well, so I didn't worry too much. I'm on vacation now - finished 3 loads of wash, and now the machine won't spin. It agitates, but won't drain. Sigh. I can see where I'll be spending the next few days - checking out sales and Consumer Reports comparisons. Shoot!

Nice slow day

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

Woke up and ate breakfast and read some of the paper. Then went off to run some errands. Pay the electric bill and went by KMart just because I wanted to see if I could find anything on sale. Looked at some exercise dvd's but didn't like what I saw. Look at shoes to see if I could find a cute pair that were comfortable. No luck. Did find a cotton blouse in blue that was on sale for $3.99.
Came home and ate some lunch, Worked out and took a shower. Made dinner and here I am now on Sparks/online until 10pm when the new season of "ParentHood" comes on.
Night all!

I like Parenthood, too, but looks like I get to watch it on the computer at a later date. Glad your bug was cleared out of both your body and your computer! Hope your son is doing OK now. emoticon
