A pretty normal day.

Thursday, September 02, 2010

Got up to warm weather again. Was hoping it would stay a bit cool for a few days but the news said it would be rather warm here until Sunday when it will start to cool off again. Did a LS dvd "5 fat burning miles" and it felt good to start back exercising again. Headache/migraine is pretty much gone now. Thanks goodness!
Did some marketing this morning. Got the check from Mass Mutual so we have the money in our hands (the bank) for the house redo come Nov. instead of Oct. now. I can't wait to start and get this old house in shape again. emoticon

Bowling w/friends and more window shopping.

Wednesday, September 01, 2010

Went bowling this morning with Irene & Debbie. I still had to take a tylenol b/4 going because I seem to shake this headache all the way. Did OK and broke 100 everytime but I seem to not be able to keep from curving the ball and so missed a lot of strikes and did OK on the spares.

We drove over to InN'Out afterwards. I got a single Protein burger with cheese and no sauce only tomato and lettuce. Picked up lunch for Jeff and Frank too (animal style double doubles), so also got 2 order of french fries. I had half of one order. Still kept within my calorie range.

After lunch Jeff and I went to another window place. More money than the one yesterday, most likely will go with that one. So far the cheapest for the same windows.

Frank went with me tonight to take Phred out for an evening walk. Frieda also came by this afternoon after school to play with him. Made him a happy camper. Took another 2 tylenol after we got back. My head seems to feeling better.

Hope you not get overdosed with tylenol emoticon
That's sounds like a fun outings with your friends, I also have trouble with curving ball - straight-right-left-hit the pins, lol.

My son introduced me to the In and Out menu quirks a few years ago. The midwest doesn't have any "secret menus" as my son put it. I had forgotten about it--thanks for the smile.

Just so you are aware, I had a headache that wouldn't go away last week and I ended up with the flu. I'm hoping you just have a headache! Great job keeping active throughout the day even though you weren't 100%!

Errands again, fun at Walmart.

Wednesday, September 01, 2010

Got up late and headed over to Walmart. I rarely shop there but they just reopened the local one and put in a full service store and sent out $5 gift cards to everyone so I headed over there. I started to look around and purchased some banana's and a couple of Lean Cuisine meals, then headed over to the fresh meat area. Saw the price for Pork Ribs was $1.78 a pound and decided to buy some. But wait, the label say $2.27 a pound Mmmmm? I find the meat manager who says "Yes it should be $1.78 a pound", removes the other 3 packages of meat and the price sign and tells me to tell the cashier to take $2.50 off the price that is on label.
Of course this doesn't happen as easily as it sounds. Standing at the register close to 15 mins. to get a price check. I keep telling the person to call "Larry in the meat dept.", after several times of telling her, she looks at me at say "Who is Larry". The person who was in line behind looks at me and says "It isn't that you haven't told her 5 times already." I apologized to her and she takes her stuff off of the belt and wishes me luck. We both laugh.
Finally one of the manager's comes up and tells the lady that each dept. now has a manager and she needs to talk to Larry in the meat dept. I tell her I have told her that a few times already. The manager just looks at the lady and says to her just give her the ribs for $7.50. Why? Because neither one of them can subtract the $2.50 in their heads from the price that is listed on the meat, which is something like $10.53. (Mmmm $8.03). I know this because they both look at the price for about a min. trying to figure out what it would be if you subtract that amount. I am just about to tell them when the manager says "Give it to her for $7.50". I say nothing, just smile and thank them both, pay my bill and come home. I once again decided I will not be shopping in a Walmart anytime too soon. Who hires these people??

Later in the day Jeff and I went window pricing yet again. Found a pretty good deal at an independent place and will most likely go with this place. New windows are really pricey.

Good night all.

    Yes new windows are pricey.......

Everybody deserves a shot in life, and remember each person has their strengths and their weaknesses, the key to see the good in all people is to try and find their strengths.

We all have talents, unfortunately most of us don't ever show our talents, in brief meetings.

Just about normal

Monday, August 30, 2010

I got up pretty late today. Was still very tired from the migraine. I did take Phred out for about 41 mn. walk but was pretty slow. The weather has cooled off a bit and there was a nice breeze. Came home and had lunch, showered and went off to the doctors office to get my pro-time blood work done. Was surprised the office didn't call tonight with results. Will have to check in the am.
Stopped at Ralphs Market on the way home and picked up some chicken breasts for dinner along with some apple sauce to have with it. We also have baked potato and left over biscuit from the other night.
Washed my car tonight for some added exercise. Was pretty cool this evening by 6pm. Very strange weather we continue to have here in the southland. Talked to Irene tonight about bowling on Wednesday morning and that seems to be the plan at the moment. Jeff has a couple of weeks off. We got the money approve to the home redo. Will start at the end of Sept. or early Oct. Very nervous after checking out so many different places and prices for stuff. Everything is still so expensive but I think that maybe in another couple of months some prices may come down. Wish us luck.

Sick all week. Damm

Sunday, August 29, 2010

This week has be on my list of worst, at least in the way I have felt. It started out pretty good last Sunday with kayaking and taking my neighbor Pat along. She had fun and we went out to lunch with the gang. Had a half turkey sandwich with homemade vegetable soup that was to die for. By the afternoon I started to feel really bad with a light cough, went to take a nap and that's all she wrote. I was out for the night. Started to feel somewhat better by Wednesday and cleaned the house but felt real tired. Did some exercise on Thursday along with the marketing and it just wore me out.

Jeff had Friday off from work and we had errands to run all day long. The bank, post office, Loews, home for lunch then off to the Home and Garden Show at the convention center. Came home and I started cooking a 1/2 ham I got on sale at the market. Had a great dinner.

After dinner Jeff and I went over to a different Home Depot over in Orange and I started to feel strange and a bit dizzy. All of a sudden I just started getting lights flashing and an aura that I knew would lead to a mother of a migraine. I took my medication almost as soon as I could get it out of my handbag. Jeff was worried because I was so pale. We still had a few things to do around home depot. If was awful. I had to cover my face on the drive home since we would driving into the setting sun. Took some more meds when I got home along with a sleeping pill and eventually went to sleep. My head still hurts a lot yesterday and I never went outside.

Got up this morning and still tired but took Phred for a 43 mn. almost 2.50 mile walk. I plan on taking him out again this evening but not up to the gym or an exercise dvd. It really is all I can do to get on my laptop right now. I will be cooking a nice healthy salmon for dinner along with corn on the cob and maybe salad or some other vegetables or biscuits.

Glad to be back onsite and feeling better.

Glad you are feeling better now. My DD has migraines as well. She did find a pill that works if she takes it soon enough. Then my Eye Dr. was saying they are treating migraines now with Botox treatments. Don't know any more than that though.

I haven;t had a migraine in a long time--thanks for reminding me of life's blessings! Sorry about yours striking you when you were already down. I used to want to blame the migraine on what I was doing at the time--but did the tedium of errands lead to a migraine or did the migraine make the errands tedious? I finally correlated low blood sugar, lack of sleep and lack of water to trigger a migraine. Two out of the three would do it.

I know what you mean about the sun. Even now, I like dark places. Except when I'm trying to read something! Hope you're feeling b3tter.
