Loved all the pics! I'm jealous too. Thanks for sharing. Makes me long to get out and hike again if the darn rain and lightening storms we're getting daily will let up for a little bit. Do NOT want to be out hiking in the lkightening. The rain I could deal with.

Hiking Pictures from Friday Evening:Mojeska Cyn.

Sunday, August 01, 2010

Woke up this morning to overcast skies yet again. Walked the dog, did some errands and a couple of my exercise dvds. Made fajitas for dinner with some left over broasted chicken from the other night with corn cobs. Also burn my darn wrist when the lid sliped out of my hand. Oh well. Here are some pictures from the Mojeska hike. Just a variety showing the hills, the people hiking and some lovely wild flowers. Hope you enjoy!
This was at the top of the first hill, that is my son Frank covering his face. LOL
All smiles from Nichole, Jane and Bijan at the top of the first hill.
Sign showing to be careful/No fires allowed. The area is still recovering from the 2007 hill
fires.
Marc talking about the dry creek bed we will walk up, the path is just behind him on his left where the little opening appears bwt 2 trees.
Walking up the creek bed, there is still some water in it, in areas.
Here are a couple of the lovely wild flowers along the creek.
The group hiking, that is Frank in the yellow shirt.
Starting to head out of the canyon. By the time we got to the top it almost dark and was just a few min. from being completely dark when we reach out cars. Wonderful time was had by all and Frank is going with me again on Aug. 5th. Too bad it takes almost an hour to get there and almost 1/2 a tank of gas because of the roads/hills.
Sorry folks appears a couple of pictures didn't upload.

Beautiful photos! Sorry about your wrist!!
I know that frustration uploading photos. Sometimes its taken me five hours to get some on a blog and they don't all go in! Thanks for trying again!
Enjoy your Sunday!

I burned my wrist last week on a pan too - it is taking a long time to heal, looks ugly but thankfully has not been too painful. Hope your heals fast.

Lovely pictures. California has such beautiful and dramatic landscape so close to the water. On the East Coast they are much further apart and the mountains here are very different. It is interesting how different things are in the same country. Thanks for sharing.

Short blog tonight

Friday, July 30, 2010

My son Frank and I had a great time hiking and I will write about tomorrow. I have been tired today and my throat has been bothering me most of the day. I am thinking some type of pollen or something I may have reacted too. Have a great night all.

I know what you mean. Something has been bothering my sinuses lately...every time I go out I end up with eye irritation and a sinus headache the next day. I'll have to check the pollen count for the area and see what's bothering me. I thought it was house dust from all the moving, but it doesn't bother me so much if I stay inside.

I hope you're feeling better soon. Best wishes.

PBS tonight with Sir Paul at the White House

Thursday, July 29, 2010

What a wonderful show tonight and it isn't over yet. The music was great and the different artists with their interpretations of McCartney songs was fantastic. Even if someone is not an Obama fan, you got to love the music of Sir Paul.

Got up and made waffles this morning for all of us. I have fresh blueberries on mine with only 2 tbsp of maple syrup. Very yummy. The I read a little bit of the paper and headed over to the gym. Yes I made it to the gym. Had a great workout doing strength for close to an hour and about the same of cardio.

When I got home I went through my coupons while I ate lunch and watch some TV. Took a shower and headed over to the market. Saved close to $37 dollars today. Not as good as normal but I still very good. Purchased some broasted chicken to have with leftover potatoes and carrots with salad tonight along with King Hawaiian bread (because Jeff loves it). He wanted me to pick him up some sweet pickles which I did. The only problem was when he went to help bring in everything the plastic bag that had them inside split and it broke all over the driveway. emoticon He wanted to pick them up and try to get all the broken glass out of them. I was your f..ing crazy it's all full of glass bits, I'll just call the store and tell them the bag split while carrying it. I have been shopping at this store so long that they told me to come by in the morning for a replacement. I have had this happen several times over the last 20 years and every time the market has replaced the item.

Woo Hoo also picked up my new glasses today. They are really large, in fact the frame is really for prescription sunglasses but I need to protect my eyes because of the prenidsone and early cataracts and these are transition's lens so they get pretty dark. And soon I will have a picture of me in them to show everyone. emoticon

Also wanted to add that my husband and I saw Sir Paul/Wings in the early 90"s at Angel Stadium here in Anaheim and it was one of most fantastic live shows I have ever witness.

That's wonderful that you got to see Sir Paul live. I know what you mean about the sacks breaking. I have an old time record of Paul's from the Wings collection. Do those things sell still? I missed the show but I didn't really hear about it til later and I think I went to ARM that night.

Tuesday pretty busy

Wednesday, July 28, 2010

Got up this morning and then headed over to my doctors for my blood work, Protime. This is something that needs to be done about once a month if a person is on blood thinners like I am, along with l/d aspirin. I am going to stay on the same dose. I was really hoping to lower the dose because I don't like taking 5 or 6 mgs a day because if I cut myself it doesn't stop bleeding very easily.

Came home and read a little bit of the paper while having a Zone bar and then took Phred out for a walk/jog. After that I started in on the topiaries again to finish the last 2 with the large trimmer. I still have about 2 days left of work with the small trimmer to shape them better.
It was after 1pm and I came in to have some lunch and rest. Then at 3pm did a 5 mile LS dvd and showered. I then got on Sparks for a little while and made dinner. Hamburgers again with fruit cups but the guys also had chips.

After dinner Frank and I took Phred out for a short walk and I got back on Sparks while the tv is on. I also may go back to ATT to update my phone. My husband decided today to get rid of his phone and just use the company phone now. So I could go back and get a nice smart phone 2 for the price of 1 at $19 and get text/internet for what I have been paying for his phone. We would go now to only 2 cells phones. I don't know what I would do with the new phone I just purchased, it was only $32, just a cheap phone but I would love if they would give me a credit. Also I notice that T-Mobile gives unlimited texting for only $20 and ATT wants $30. So maybe I can swing something with the guy by saying I could just switch over to T-Mobile for cheaper. ATT wants to keep customers so you never know if he would do that for me or not. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Check around with different plans. I used a service, I can't remember the name right now, but they charged $5.00 for 1,000 text which was way enough for me to use. Also their phone was only $20.00 I didn't have a camera phone but I thought it was worth it. Also I'm on U.S. Cellular and we have enough minutes my DD and I and we each pay $5.00 a piece for 250 text, with all incoming not counting and any after 7 and weekends not counting. They are free then. We pay for 1,000 minutes that we share and all incoming don't count, after 7 and weekends are free and any between same company are free.
