Had a fun Friday!

Friday, July 23, 2010

Woke up at around 7am from have a scary dream. I don't normally have nightmares so I just laid in bed for a while and then got up. Very strange dream. After I got up I ate breakfast and ran over to StaterBros to use the ATM again and pick up a few items.

Irene showed up around 10:30am or so and we headed over to the bowling alley. I had a coupon where we could bowl for hrs. for $8.99 and it included shoes. I have my own balls but my bowling shoes died a long time ago. We both keep getting better the more we bowl. We are both now breaking 100 every game. My high game was 150 today and I had a spare with a turkey (3 strikes in a row) to get that score. I was pretty jazz and so was Irene.

After bowling we went over to El Pollo Loco for lunch where Irene purchased my lunch because we had made a silly bet that if either of us bowled a turkey the other one had to buy lunch. I had a skinless chicken breast with a side salad with no dressing, fresh vegetables (CA style) and 2 corn tortillas with a diet coke. The calorie count was under 500 and I was so full.

Came home and watched GH and then did LS:Fast 4 miles. Jeff had leftover chicken breast, baby carrots with apple sauce for his dinner and I had leftover salmon from last night along with noodles and no sugar fruit cup. Stayed under 1600 cals for today. I can eat up to 1900 but try to stay under the 1600 range

I keep talking about making it to the gym and haven't gone yet this week so I am planning on tomorrow. I will also be kayaking on Sunday. Should be wonderful weather for paddling around the harbor.

oh, lord...I haven't been bowling in a least a year and then who knows how long before that. I took out my ball and shoes last year when I went and my shoes were also dead. But my ball still worked great! Well, at least it stayed out of the gutter....lol!

Thursday/a nice day

Friday, July 23, 2010

Got up this morning and did a few errands, the ATM and over to the city center to pay the electric bill. They have a farmers market there on Thursday so I decided to walk around for about 40 mins. Check out the produce and ended up buying some nuts for my husband and picked up some Green Plums and figs for me. I had a plum for a snack and they are very good. Frank spotted the figs and asked if he could have one. The lady Stella that lived next store to us had a fig tree and we use to get lots of them. When she died and the family who purchased the house when they moved in the they chopped it down. I was so sad, that tree was a good producer of figs. Stella had planted it when the house was brand new in 1951.

Came home and took Phred for a 35 min. walk, then came home and started the house cleaning when was close to 2 hours, then ate lunch and use an exercise dvd LS: 5 mile fat burning walk. Took Phred for another walk after dinner.

We went out to dinner tonight. I ordered salmon, ate half and brought the rest home. I ordered the bake potato instead of the Pork & Beans & fries that normally comes with it. I also had a small salad to start with lemons for dressing. I did have a diet coke and half of the garlic bread. Jeff ate the other half for me. I still kept within my calorie range for today! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I went to a farmer's market on the way to the beach - great peaches, cantaloupe, squash - I love this time of year. I feel sorry about the fig tree - I would love to have a fruit tree in my yard. I only eat dried figs - I will have to try fresh.

Cooler weather again.

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

Woke up this morning and it was completely overcast again. It was not suppose to get above 78 degrees today. Took Phred for a nice walk that was an hour and over 3+ miles. Didn't make it to gym again but did some good workouts none the less. I did TBL w/Bob Bootcamp circuit training I added in the 2nd level for now it is a total of 45 mns. Boy was I sweating during this workout. I keep having to grab a towel so I wouldn't drop my weights. Good workout. I then did a old LS video from 1998 called "123 miles fat burning using the walkbelt the last mile. I could have use it the first but my arms were tired out from TBL. I was soaking wet when I was none with both of these workouts. I also took Phred out for his evening walk.

Called my girlfriend Cora whom I hadn't talked to in about a month. Her husband and her do geocaching and she loves to tell me about what they find and new people they meet up with.
I am so glad her husband found something she is willing to do and have fun with. She is a real homebody and doesn't like to get out much w/o her husband. In all the years I have known her we have rarely gone out together except to parties and her sisters home. I think she has a problem with crowds and stuff. Don't know why? But she is the sweetest person and so funny. She is from Virginia and use to work in Washington, DC for one of the government agencies there.

Anyway pretty calm around here today. Nothing much to report except I am hoping to break the under 150's again tomorrow.

Leaving 150-ville - I am right there with you - hoping to break into and stay in 140-ville. I am sure that Phred is happy now that it is cooler - he gets his walks back. It is supposed to get to 110 this weekend in DC - maybe the hottest day ever - ugh. Have a great day.

Slept late again.

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

Got up a bit late yet again. Don't know what is with that. After breakfast had to do some errands and then came home and took Phred out for a walk. It is still warm but nice with a breeze.

Watched a couple of soaps and then my sister from NY called about 2pm. Didn't get around to calling her this weekend and she wanted to keep in touch because she is gonna be gone this upcoming weekend. She is going with her friend Sharon to visit Sharon's son Dusty and daughter in law in MA. Should be a fun long weekend.

Did a LS advanced 5 mile walk because I didn't get to the gym again but I think I am going to make sure to get up in the morning by setting the alarm. Made a turkey smoked sausage with noodles, veggies and unsweetened applesauce for dinner. Took Phred out for a short evening walk. Have a nice tomorrow everyone!

Nice of you to stay close to family - and good for you to continue LS when you don't get to the gym. You are certainly doing well with the steady weight loss.

Monday Monday so good to me.

Monday, July 19, 2010

Why would I say that. Well today I did perfect on my nutrition goals. I have had that happen only a few times since starting tracking in Nov. Sometimes I am just a few points high or low on something. Not today, everything just right. emoticon

Got up a little late today, which surprised me. I even fell asleep watching "The Gates" last night and have no idea how it ended. Anybody see this show who can tell me what happen the last 15-20 mins. of the show??

Anyway drove over to AAA to pay the car insurance on all the cars, stopped by Petco for FrontLine+ (Advantage didn't work on my dog at all, in fact went through a 4 month supply in 2 1/2 months). We have sprayed the yard, the house, the furniture. All to no avail, our little dog gets fleas. We had my big old dog Lucy for years and she never had fleas and I never had to use anything but the cheap stuff and she was fine. Not Phred the Wonder Dog, the groomer said some dogs Advantage doesn't work on, gee no kidding.

After Petco went over to Target to pick up stuff, Aveena Sun Screen, some new lip gloss. Had coupons for everything and most everything I purchased was on sale and still spent almost $90, so exciting to get home and see the tax was almost $9. That just kills me to spend that amount on taxes. emoticon

Got home in time to see AMC(soap) and have lunch. Then did TBL "Bootcamp" w/Bob and LS:Fast 4 miles w/boosted walking (jogging). Showered, got on Sparks, started dinner
Chicken Breasts, Whole Grain Rice, French style Green Beans (no salt), King Hawaiian Rolls (2) and no sugar mixed fruit cup and 10 oz. 1% milk. Cleaned up the kitchen.

After I finished up with the kitchen my son and I took Phred out for an evening walk. I am so happy it has cooled off so much. Felt so nice with a breeze. Ah refreshing!

I hope to get into the gym tomorrow after going to the bank for the hubby. He is working again for a few days.

Sounds like a busy day. I rarely get all the nutrition trackers just right. - although I really just pay attention to calories and protein. I am always amazed how a few things add up to so much money.
