Quiet Sunday

Sunday, July 11, 2010

Got up this morning and read some of the Sunday paper. Then took Phred on a 55 min. where we did 3+miles. Felt good. Came home and watch the end of soccer. Not really fans but watched the last game because we have friends from the Netherlands. Was a tough game to lose, but one team had to win. Spain did a great job.

Hubby went off to work Fan Fest around 3:30pm and I then did a LS:dvd "Fast 4 miles w/boosted walking". Took a shower, ate a LC dinner and took Phred out for a short 18 min. walk. Just waiting for new "Scoundrels" & "The Gate" starting at 9pm. Hope everyone had a nice Sunday.

I am always so impressed by your commitment to daily exercise. It seems like you really like the LS videos. Right now when I do exercise I go for walk or the gym. Maybe I should look into LS for the winter. Glad you had a good day.

Friday:FunFest2010ASG//Sat. Normal routine

Saturday, July 10, 2010

Yesterday started out pretty normal. I got up and went over to KMart and then to Ralphs Supermarket. Came home to see my husband had left a message on the house phone, the man did not even try my cell. What is with that? Anyway I put all the stuff I had purchase and ate some lunch and he called back b/4 I could return his call.

He has been working this week over at the Anaheim Convention Center setting up for the All Star Game 2010 Fun Fest, which started yesterday and goes until Monday. Anyway his boss has 2 free passes for our son and I. We were able to get over there around 1:30pm.

My son had a blast taking a lot of pictures. There were a lot of older player that were signing autographs. The one person I wanted to get we didn't even try because the line was so long I would have been standing there for about 1 1/2 hrs. The player was Steve Garvey and I use to go to about 25 Dodger games a year back in the mid 70's when he was their catcher. I was so jazzed to be able to see him until my son said "Who is that?". I made him take this picture because he is over 6 ft. tall and could take this picture a lot easier that I could. It did make me feel old that he didn't know who he was. I explained about him being a great catcher and that I had been at the game that almost cost him his career with a bad injury to his neck from a stray foul ball hitting him. I also said he was the one who came up with the neck protector thing that most, if not all catchers now wear on their masks.

My son took a lot of photos of some pretty neat stuff. I am going to pick a few and just put them on here. Although the first one is my son sitting in a new corvette and the other is me sitting in the same car.

The above picture my son took and had no idea that my husband Jeff and I were standing right behind. He is on call for "emergency electrical fixes", while he was walking around with
us for a little while. I was dressed in my Angles t-shirt from 2008 play off games. He worked all day yesterday until 9pm and for the next 3 or 4 evenings he will be working from 4:30pm till 9pm.

3-D artwork of Angle Stadium, the cost was over $3000. Way too rich for my blood.

Son took this picture of my husband standing next to "The Big Foot" truck. My husband is 6'4" so you can really tell just how big this thing is.
Here is an injured Mickey. They put 25 different Mickey's in and around the LA/OC area and I think 5 of them got damaged by vandals. So they bandaged this one up like he had hurt his arm. I get so mad that someone had to ruin these things, so not everyone got to enjoy them undamaged.
After we came home I took the dog out for a walk and then did a LS dvd "5 mile walk".
So got my exercise in and I did not even figure all the walking around for almost 4 hours.

Today got up a little late and knew I was going to be making dinner to eat about 2:30pm. I made baby back ribs, baked potatoes and salad. Jeff took some leftovers to work with him.
Than I did all the housework that I should have done yesterday, dusting, both bathrooms, tub, toilets, counters, mirrors, vacuuming the whole house and mopping the house, which in our house means everything but the hallway and 2 of the 3 bedrooms. Took Phred for a walk this morning and a short one this evening. Now I am going to go take a shower so I can watch Scoundrels and The Gates tonight.

Nice visit w/Sandy

Thursday, July 08, 2010

Sandy showed up at the house around 7:45am this morning. After she came in the house for about 15 mins. we headed out at 8:06 for a nice walk. We did 3.4+ miles, at a good pace for her but a bit slow for me. We had a nice talk, learning the latest about her neighbors. She walks every morning by her local Loews and I guess after a while the guys who work there started to tell her on cold mornings that she could get free coffee inside. How sweet of them.
I finally got to return her canning jars that she brought by with home made soup, back at the end of Jan., I think? I also found this thing called or made by a company called "Foley" for her a couple of months ago. I am not sure how to use it but it is for canning and she was jazz because she knew what to do with it but had never seen one b/4. Can't wait to taste her home made salsa or spaghetti sauce.

She came with some vegetables from her garden, onions, cucumbers and from her grapefruit tree. Can't wait to use them in my cooking.

I did an LS dvd today too, Fast 5 miles and took Phred out for a short walk this evening.
Plan on getting up early tomorrow. It is so cool when walking I really like it but can't wait for summer. The weatherman says we should start warming up by this weekend.

It's been really hot in Arkansas during June. I thought I was going to die of the heat and cut my outdoor workouts back by about 2/3rds Also moved it to as early in the morning as I could stand to get up. Now it has cooled down a bit and I sure am enjoying the break. If we get some more hot weather, maybe I'll tell it to go visit you.

You are waiting for summer and we here in Texas, are waiting for it to cool off some! It has been a super hot June, burned all our grass up, having to feed the horses hay.

Staters/Costco today

Wednesday, July 07, 2010

Went over to Staters Brothers this morning to use the ATM and get a couple of items from that market. Came home and put those items away and then headed over to Costco. I was hoping they had some fresh trout but they didn't have any today. I was very disappointed, this is the first time in the last 1 1/2 yrs. that they haven't had any. ?? I instead picked up some salmon and dover sole. I also got kiwi's and a large bag of pears. I had picked up Granny Smith apples at SB.

I also purchased a pair of size 8 pants while at Costco. I know it sounds weird because it is summer but the weather has been so cool here and even sprinkles that I had to wear pants today. Only problem was the smallest pair I had in an 11 is too big. So just got the one pair.
I also purchased some new glasses. I have needed new one's since my dishwasher had problems with some bad Cascade. The one's I have now are all etched and I can't get them to be clear again even using vinegar. Got a good deal on both of these items.

Came home and had lunch while watching the last of OLTL and then GH. I then did a LS dvd "Fast 4 miles". I then colored my hair and showered, Took Phred out for a short walk of about 27 mins and came home to fixed dinner. Salmon, white rice, mixed vegetables and lite peaches with 1% milk.

My friend Sandy is stopping by in the morning for a couple of hours and we will take a walk with Phred. She needs to be over at her dads by 10am and that won't be a problem. She'll get here around 8am. Sandy is the person who turned me on to SparksPeople and I will always be grateful to her. This site has saved my life. emoticon

Oh well, better luck next time.

Sorry to hear about your etched glasses, but hope you had fun buying new ones. And congratulations on the smaller pants! Buying smaller clothes is always fun.

Hmm - I don't usually buy fish at Costco because the portions are usually huge. I will need to check it out the next time that I go. Sorry that it has been so cool there - but woohoo on the size 8. I bought my first size 10's yesterday - doesn't it feel great!!. Have fun with your friend.
