Restful Tuesday

Tuesday, July 13, 2010

Got up this morning late and the sun was out and it was already getting warm. Today was laundry day for my clothes. Had 3 loads to do and started doing them. I then made my husband and I egg sandwiches for breakfast on whole wheat bread with Romaine and tomatoes. I also had some pepper jack cheese for a kick. I use honey mustard while the hubby uses whole mayo. He never diets, say's it is against his religion emoticon

Anyway we watch another movie today. We have seen it b/4 but Jeff purchased it a couple of weeks ago. Robin Hood, Prince of Thefts with Kevin Costner & Morgan Freeman, I forgot it had so many amusing parts.

I made dinner for Jeff and I to eat around 3pm. I made Porterhouse Steaks on the grill and I had a wheat roll, and later salad with a pear. The steaks were good but very big. This is his last evening working at FanFest 2010 and tomorrow they will start to take it all down.

Did 1 walk with Phred this evening and a LS:5 mile walk using 5# weight, walking belt and resistance bands. I also wore ankle weights that were 1 1/2# on each leg. Listening and watching JM tonight. This couple really needed her help.

Ok, so I'm coming over for meals at your house! And I was out walking Teddy this morning at 7am and it was already warm. I know I said I wanted the sun, but I didn't say anything about hot! And I live near the beach and there was no breeze...sigh...guess you can't have it all!!!

Weather has warmed up.

Tuesday, July 13, 2010

Got up this morning and read a little bit of the morning news. Head off to the market to use the ATM and pick up some milk, along with soda for my husband and son. I took Phred out for his morning walk around 10:35am and boy had it warmed up. Thankful there was a nice breeze. Still was only in the mid 70's but compared to the last couple of weeks, it was warm.

We watched a movie that my husband had borrowed from a friend. I had heard of it but didn't know too much about it. It was very good and stared Denzel Washington "The Book of Eli", post apocalyptic world where he has the only bible left in the world. Don't want to give anything away but it was very exciting. There has been other movies that run along these same ideas but the ending is a bit of a surprise. If you haven't seen this it would make a good rental for the family with other kids, Jr.High and above.

Thanks about it.

I hear you! Last Tuesday I went walking with a friend and had to wear a hoodie because I was cold. This morning, we were sweating after a few minutes and that was before 9!

Quiet Sunday

Sunday, July 11, 2010

Got up this morning and read some of the Sunday paper. Then took Phred on a 55 min. where we did 3+miles. Felt good. Came home and watch the end of soccer. Not really fans but watched the last game because we have friends from the Netherlands. Was a tough game to lose, but one team had to win. Spain did a great job.

Hubby went off to work Fan Fest around 3:30pm and I then did a LS:dvd "Fast 4 miles w/boosted walking". Took a shower, ate a LC dinner and took Phred out for a short 18 min. walk. Just waiting for new "Scoundrels" & "The Gate" starting at 9pm. Hope everyone had a nice Sunday.

I am always so impressed by your commitment to daily exercise. It seems like you really like the LS videos. Right now when I do exercise I go for walk or the gym. Maybe I should look into LS for the winter. Glad you had a good day.

Friday:FunFest2010ASG//Sat. Normal routine

Saturday, July 10, 2010

Yesterday started out pretty normal. I got up and went over to KMart and then to Ralphs Supermarket. Came home to see my husband had left a message on the house phone, the man did not even try my cell. What is with that? Anyway I put all the stuff I had purchase and ate some lunch and he called back b/4 I could return his call.

He has been working this week over at the Anaheim Convention Center setting up for the All Star Game 2010 Fun Fest, which started yesterday and goes until Monday. Anyway his boss has 2 free passes for our son and I. We were able to get over there around 1:30pm.

My son had a blast taking a lot of pictures. There were a lot of older player that were signing autographs. The one person I wanted to get we didn't even try because the line was so long I would have been standing there for about 1 1/2 hrs. The player was Steve Garvey and I use to go to about 25 Dodger games a year back in the mid 70's when he was their catcher. I was so jazzed to be able to see him until my son said "Who is that?". I made him take this picture because he is over 6 ft. tall and could take this picture a lot easier that I could. It did make me feel old that he didn't know who he was. I explained about him being a great catcher and that I had been at the game that almost cost him his career with a bad injury to his neck from a stray foul ball hitting him. I also said he was the one who came up with the neck protector thing that most, if not all catchers now wear on their masks.

My son took a lot of photos of some pretty neat stuff. I am going to pick a few and just put them on here. Although the first one is my son sitting in a new corvette and the other is me sitting in the same car.

The above picture my son took and had no idea that my husband Jeff and I were standing right behind. He is on call for "emergency electrical fixes", while he was walking around with
us for a little while. I was dressed in my Angles t-shirt from 2008 play off games. He worked all day yesterday until 9pm and for the next 3 or 4 evenings he will be working from 4:30pm till 9pm.

3-D artwork of Angle Stadium, the cost was over $3000. Way too rich for my blood.

Son took this picture of my husband standing next to "The Big Foot" truck. My husband is 6'4" so you can really tell just how big this thing is.
Here is an injured Mickey. They put 25 different Mickey's in and around the LA/OC area and I think 5 of them got damaged by vandals. So they bandaged this one up like he had hurt his arm. I get so mad that someone had to ruin these things, so not everyone got to enjoy them undamaged.
After we came home I took the dog out for a walk and then did a LS dvd "5 mile walk".
So got my exercise in and I did not even figure all the walking around for almost 4 hours.

Today got up a little late and knew I was going to be making dinner to eat about 2:30pm. I made baby back ribs, baked potatoes and salad. Jeff took some leftovers to work with him.
Than I did all the housework that I should have done yesterday, dusting, both bathrooms, tub, toilets, counters, mirrors, vacuuming the whole house and mopping the house, which in our house means everything but the hallway and 2 of the 3 bedrooms. Took Phred for a walk this morning and a short one this evening. Now I am going to go take a shower so I can watch Scoundrels and The Gates tonight.
