My husband and son got up early this morning to head over to Costa Mesa for some car/auto show auction thing. After they left around 7:30am I decided to hang in bed for a while a watch some tv, just being lazy. Got up around 8:30am, ate breakfast and cleaned up the kitchen after the men made a mess this morning (nothing new there). Read some of the morning paper and then took Phred for a 58 min. walk and I did 3.25 miles. Came home and had a snack of Greek Yogurt and then started cleaning the house. I did that for 73 mins and then had lunch while I watch at movie on tv "Gone Baby Gone". Seen it a few times but really like it.
Got on Sparks for a bit and then Jeff called to say they ate a late lunch and would be home around 5pm. I then called my sister Linda in NY and talked to her for a bit and my family got back so after talking with her for about 40 I said goodbye. My husband found a really lovely vase for me and I should have downloaded the pictures b/4 talking about it but I will show the vase tomorrow, along with my anniversary gift from him. LOL My husband works on corvettes and classic cars as a side job so his idea of a present may not be the same as mine or yours. So yes, it was something for my '81 Corvette.
For dinner which was no problem I ate a LC dinner with crescent rolls and l/f cottage cheese.
Jeff had some leftover pork loin from last night and my son fell asleep in his room and will eat something when he wakes up. I will be kayaking in the morning and sure do look forward to that. It should be a beautiful day!
Went to the gym this AM and had a good circuit training routine on the machines. Then did 65 mins. on the elliptical in the climb function for 65 mins. Did 30 mins on a level 12.
Irene called me about 8am and told me to come by after I got back from the gym. Didn't end up at the gym until a little after 10am because Jeff had to run some errands and didn't want to put away all his equipment back into the garage.
After I got home Jeff's tells me the Maytag guy will be coming by. I mentioned that the other night the dryer was stuck on for over 4 1/2 hrs., the timer switch did not move. Of course it works fine now but it has done this b/4 and only a few other times.
Went over to Irene's around 2pm, didn't bring my swimsuit because I still don't have one that fits. The one I purchased a little over a yr. ago is a size 14 and way too big. Irene has been getting smaller too and her size 8's no longer fit her and she passed a couple pair my direction. Pretty cool. I took her some dog biscuits I had for my big dog to give to her big dogs and also some extra food stuff that I got for free from one of Jeff's friends. She sent me home with a bag of lemons from her tree and a beautiful rose from her Mothers tree. It is called that because she planted it right after her Mom died a couple of years ago.
While at Irene's home I used her BMI scale,which is a more expensive one than mine and I know now that I should be using the athletic mode. Her scale showed my BMI at around 26. So I am a happy camper.
Made a nice pork loin on the grill with Italian vegetables and cantaloupe with l/c crescent rolls. The pork turn out so good. I marinated it for 24 hours, yummy!
Recently I ordered one of these scales from Amazon with a bunch of gift cards I had earned from an RA site that I use. Anyway I have an older doctors scale in my dinning room (yeah can't miss it). I wanted one of these to see how I was doing with my BMI. I did it two ways because doing it the regular way just didn't seem correct because I knew my BMI before I started losing weight was only 40 and I have lost close to 50 pounds and this showed my BMI only .3 points lower. What the f...!!
So I reread and learned there was a second setting you can use if you are an athlete, defined as having a resting heartbeat of 60 and over 10 hours a week of exercise. Well I know from the last time I saw my doctor that my RHB is 66 (2 months ago) and I do over 10 hours of exercise a week. I left my first memory normal and the second using the athlete setting. Regular my weight was Wednesday morning 153.2 pds. and 39.7 BMI and water ratio of 64.0. Not sure exactly what that is but I knew my BMI was not that high. Athlete setting this morning Thursday 151.6 pds and BMI 26.1 and water ratio of 53.9. I feel I am somewhere in between the two BMI's. Anybody got any idea's if I am using the right setting. Anyway I do love it.
Went out to dinner tonight with my DH and son. I decided to have spaghetti and chili. Haven't had that in a long time. Thanks in advance to anyone who reads this.
Yes I did a good deed today. I try to do something nice everyday. Today when I was walking my dog there was a couple of young lady's walking ahead of me, maybe 2 or 3 houses. I walk pretty fast so knew I was going to catch up them. At that moment one of the girls puts her hand in her pockets and when she pulls it out something falls to the ground. At first I just think some paper has fallen out of her pocket. When I get to it, it is some money. Not a large amount but I know when my daughter was that age and would have dropped some money like that she would have been heartbroken. There was a breeze so it would have blown away if I hadn't picked it up and walked faster to catch up with them. I was like "Excused me young lady", at first they both ignored me but finally one of them turned around and I explained that her friend had lost money out of her pocket. The funny thing was the girl who lost the money didn't even reach out to get it , the other girl did and I had to tell her it was her friends and not hers.
Finished my walk and ate lunch and cooled off. Did LS "Fast 4 miles" in the afternoon after watching "GH" and some housework b/4 that for around 25 mins. or so.
Went over my calories a small amount for today but I have already gone way over on my exercise mins. and calories for the week so not worried about it.
Sitting in the dark listening to my DH and son watch BatMan/DarkNIght. You all have a great night!
Got up this morning and decided I was going to hit the gym again. My husband came into the kitchen and said something to the effect he was pretty sure we were ontime with all the bills this month. I mentioned AAA/car insurance should be due about now. He looked and it was due tomorrow so on my way to the gym I stopped by the AAA office to make the payment.
Got to the gym and was upstairs in the weight area for a little over 40 mins. I count it as 30 mins. of curcuit training. I did 11 different machines and sets of cruches and reverse curnches. Next I hit the eliptical trainer w/the arms and did 55 mins. Warmup for 5 mins at level 4, 5 mins level 6 forward, them backward 10 mins level 6, forward 10 mins. level 6 for two sets, then 5 mins cooldown. Came home and ate lunch then handwashed my car and also took Phred for a walk this afternoon. Now just handing on the LT and waiting for JM's new show to come on at 8pm. You all have a nice night OK
