Just "Hi" today

Not too exciting day. Walked Phred twice and cleaned the house. Sort of boring and quiet.
Thats about it.

Sometime boring and quiet in one person's eyes is rest and relaxation in another. Hope you're getting the latter.

Weel - quiet sounds like a great improvement over headache. I love those quiet little days when there is a certain rhythm to life. They can be the best!!

Sometimes, though, quiet is good! Hope the remnants of the migraine are long gone! Have a good weekend!

Good news Thursday.

Friday, June 18, 2010

Today started out pretty normal. Ran errands for my husband, the bank, CVS to get his prescription for Chantix so he can try again to stop smoking cigs, and the market for a few things.

Still not feeling 100% after my migraine on Tuesday but doing better. Talked to my friend Irene today and she has been working a lot so we haven't been able to do any walks or hikes.
Took Phred out for 2 walks this after noon. Still not getting in my 4 miles but I did feel like I had a lot more energy once I started walking Phred for the first walk.

Today was my Aunt Janet's birthday. She has been very ill because her cancer returned and really a few weeks back all of us were sure she wouldn't be with us too much longer. She even asked to go into hospice because she thought that she was near the end. I was so jazzed when she answered the phone and sounded so much like herself. She was so happy that I had called to wish her a great birthday. Her husband Louie was making her a special dinner and yesterday she was able to get a couple of fish tacos at Rubios. Unbelievable, that woman is a Wonderwoman and one of, if not, the strongest person I have ever known. She had a hard life and I only wish her the best for the rest of her life. I love you Janet, you go!

Tonight we watched the end of the Laker game. We are not big sports fans, at least when it comes to watching games all the time, we are NASCAR fans. We will watch finals for football, basketball and baseball. I like to watch extreme sports and olympics stuff but otherwise not too much of a sport family here.

Today was a good day all around.

Terrible Tuesday for me at least

Wednesday, June 16, 2010

Well, yesterday was not one of my better days for following my diet goals. Woke up and had a headache that just wouldn't let go of me, wasn't a migraine but very painful. I refused to use my migraine meds. unless it is a full blown migraine. Unfortunately, it laid me up most of the day in the dark in my bedroom. I did take Phred for a morning walk for 40 mins. and 2.17 miles, thinking the fresh air might help, that was a big mistake.

The problem I have when I get these headaches is that I get nauseated but hungry for stuff I shouldn't be eating, like sweets and salts. Gave in pretty bad and my calories for yesterday were 3,459, yep you read correctly. I did my weekly weigh in yesterday morning and was 156 pounds, and you would think that would make me happy and stop me from eating all the junk but it didn't.

Feel somewhat better today and the headache seems to be gone. Took Phred out for another 40 min. walk this morning and I may do an exercise dvd later. Just depends on how I feel in a couple of house. Pretty tired still even with all the rest yesterday and slept 9 hours straight.
I think I was having a problem with my fibromyalgia too because my feet and hands were burning and my lower back was hurting too. My toes kept cramping up so may just take it easy today but stay on the lower side of my calorie intake. emoticon

I get carb cravings when I am feeling sick and maybe that's my body telling me that it's okay to eat it. When you are feeling better, you will get back on track and everything will be better...My daughter used to get migraines all the time when she was pregnant and the only food that made the headaches tolerable was bread...

I am so sorry that yesterday was such a bad day. I know when I get nauseous all I want is carbs to sit on the stomach. So bread, pasta - you name it. So you know - don't feel guilty - that is what you needed to do to cope. But again that was yesterday and today you are back on track. So good for you for getting back up and going for a walk. Look forward to a lot of better days.

Sorry that you had such a bad day yesterday. I got migraines for years and know how bad they can be. Then suddenly, after I turned about 53, they stopped. I'd had them since early 20's. I asked my dr and she said it might have been a change in hormones then. I told her I'd had a hysterectomy over 10 years before and she reminded me there are other hormones in our body and they do sometimes change with time.

Hope you get rested today.

Clock battery died during the night.

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

I have two alarm clocks. One to wake me about an hour b/4 I really need to get up. I have medication I have to take an hour b/4 I can eat. So I set the first clock and when it goes off, open the blinds about 1/4 of the way up, so the morning light starts to come in the bedroom and take my morning medications. Go to the bathroom and then hit the bed again. But I woke up an looked at the clock and it hadn't gone off yet, so went back to sleep. Only problem was it stopped working at 7:56am and I didn't realize it. Oh well got up at 9am.

I had some errands to do today and by the time I ate breakfast it was pretty warm outside so I got in the car, ran to make a deposit at my hubby's bank, then stopped at Fresh & Easy store to see what they might have on sale. There isn't one near us but down the street from his bank. Then I took a few bags of clothes over to Goodwill finally. Man it was warm today.
Hey we had a earthquake a little while a go. Felt it pretty good this time, the news says it was a 5.7, a baby one to me. Having lived my life in S.CA, I am so use to earthquakes that I don't normally even notice them. Tonight I did.

Was a bit tired today for some reason but still did 1 LS dvd "5 fast fat burning miles"and only took Phred out after dinner tonight when it had cooled off. Going to need to get up earlier to walk him b/4 the ground get too hot for his paws.

I felt it, too, although very mildly. I looked at my dining room chandelier to confirm!

I hate getting going late in the morning!

Glad you didn't get any damage from the quake.

I overslept this morning too. It wasn't my clock's fault though, I just didn't set it. Usually I wake up early but this morning I way overslept.

I'm not used to earthquakes either - sounds freaky to me - but tornado's and floods - am pretty used to them. So I guess it is where you live. LOL! No I don't like any of them, actually! It is hot and humid here and pretty rainy. Today, the humidity is @ 77% so it feels like a shower outside already! I had better get out now and get my gardening done before it gets too warm!
Hope your day goes better today!
Know that I am praying for you and thinking of you daily!
Love,

Wow - here on the East Coast we do not have earthquakes so all of that sounds really odd to me discussing them as commonplace. We have hurricanes that come by every once in awhile so I guess every part of the country has some geological thing. I hate when something like the alarm happens - gets me off on the wrong foot all day - nice that you have such a positive attitude about it. Hope today is great!

I didn't feel the quake, though my Dad did. And then my sister emailed me to let me know that my 17 year old niece was driving her nuts because she was freaking out about it (my niece freaks out about everything). 5.7....that's a big truck rolling by outside...lol! Now, that one on Easter Sunday...that's a different story...I don't like those rolling ones. Give me a jolting one. At least then I know it's happening...lol!

Sunday, sort of a rest day.

Monday, June 14, 2010

Got up a little late and read some of the newspaper. Then headed out to take Phred for a short walk this AM. Headed over to the market to use the ATM and pick up a fews things. Got some steaks for dinner but I only had salad with mine and the men folk had the left over mash potatoes from last night. Did just a 3 miles LS dvd while using the resistance band and then took Phred for his reg. evening walk. I really took it easy today.

My take it is easy is sitting all day on the computer. You still got in 3 miles with LS - cardio and ST. And you went for a walk. I think that is a very good day.
