No I haven't been on here in a while.

Too many things going on. Went to AZ for a few days when my daughter Samra had surgery. She is doing fine, and back at work. While I was there my husband had a stress test that didn't go too well and he landed in the ER and hospital overnight. He has been off cigs now for close to 4 weeks, he is on low dose aspirin now for the rest of his life, He has a-fib, not such a big deal, but totally unaware of this problem. I scheduled the test and told them that I did not want them to do it while I was out of town. They called him at work and rescheduled it anyways. See they should have listen to me.
The doctors are still trying to find what is wrong with me. Have scheduled a number of tests with no results. So life goes on. Will write more, after more tests.

Updates

Ok for those of you who are not on my face-book page my biopsy came back normal. My ENT found that the node was larger than he an anticipated closer to 2 cc and weird shaped and some calcification with mild inflammation but otherwise no cancer.

Had some sad news when I went to my Rheumatologist the other day. He is retiring in December and it was my last visit with him. I have been seeing him since early 1997 and it just made me so sad. My hubby and I feel he has kept me alive and going all these years. He will truly be missed by me and all of his other patients. Seems all of my doctors are retiring or passing away, I guess this is what happens as you get older. Now all my doctor are young and look like they just came out of medical school, new ideas are good, but experience can be a blessing.

I leave to AZ on the 22nd to visit with my daughter as she is having surgery on the 23rd, so I will be there for a few days. I will return on the 27th., my friend Irene will be picking me up at John Wayne Airport, which I think is 10-15 miles from here. Jeff has a colonoscopy scheduled for the 27th & Frank will be taking him for that test in the morning. Jeff has a stress test the next morning, which the doctor told me I should go with him, just in case?

Weather was very cool this morning, very overcast and I thought we had fall at last. I came home and turned off the AC, opened the windows but now the sun is starting to burn the clouds away and the heat is coming on strong, suppose to hit 88 degrees by noon. Still was nice to have the windows open for a few hours.

It is hard to have a change with your medical professionals but as you saw we are all aging and retirement is around the corner for them as well. Many time the new and modern is better. Our dentist, a friend, retired and we were amazed at the new equipment that was out there and how much better the care had been. Even when we go to MX. they have some equipment our dentist didn't have. And I have read the biopsy was negative and again so happy for you!

Great news about the biopsy! So happy for you!
Sorry to hear about your Dr. :-(( My rheumatologist died at a relatively young age of leukemia a couple of years ago. She had been treating me for over 30 years!
Glad you got a min break in your weather! Can't say I am enjoying the cooler temperatures here and the threat of another long, cold winter immanent.
Wow, Jeff is sure being run through the testing mill! Hope he is okay!
Enjoy your weekend!

Off week

Friday, October 03, 2014

So had a biopsy done on a enlarge neck node. It has slowly gotten larger and we are hoping for a negative result. My mothers started out the same way but she waited way too long to do anything about it and had neck cancer which she passed away from in 2007. Even if it is something I know I will be fine.

Been worried about my DH Jeff too. He finally had a physical, which he has put off for years. He has smoked for years he says under 2 packs a day but it use to be closer to 3 packs a day. So who really knows with a smoker because they tend to lie to themselves. Anyway we got his first batch of blood work which all looked good, this the specialized stuff came back and high this and high that. Doctor wants him on a low fat diet, lol if you all knew my husband that would be like cutting off his arm, leg whatever. His weight was 233 at 6' 4" but it is all stomach, we joke that he is starting his 3rd trimester. He loves his nightly ice cream (full fat), his chips and dips. I know I shouldn't buy it for him but he gets mad if I don't because he says he is making the big bucks.
Doctor needs him to stop smoking too. He has tried so many times before with no luck (pills, cold turkey) he doesn't want too and you have to want too. Maybe this time because they did a new chest x-ray and from the ones they did in 2010 & 2011 there are differences in the lower right or left lobes. He had a cat scan today. He got the patch to try but still is not using them. I don't see him going on a low fat diet and stopping smoking at the same time. He just doesn't have the strength to do both. He has always said I was strong when I put my mine to doing something like stopping smoking back in 1997. I just stopped, felt it wasn't worth it and the prices were getting to be too expensive.

Will let you all know how things turn out. I am still recovering from the biopsy since I haven't felt 100%. Have trouble with all antibiotics and for the first 2 days spent a lot of time in the bathroom.
My weight is still going down. Saw the thyroid doctor today and was down to 166.1 and I ate lunch b/4 going. I haven't done any exercise since Sunday. I was doing pretty good I thought on the daily meds for the migraines but on Tuesday afternoon got 2 of them and another one last night. Doctor may have to increase the dose or she may have to talk me into the MRI I don't want to do.
The weather is still hot here, over 100 still at 4:12pm but the weather guys say it will start to cool off maybe next week. Would be so nice, I am so burned out on hot weather. I will be going to AZ near Phoenix at the end of the month to visit my daughter as she is having surgery. That's about it for now. xo to all my buddies here

So very sorry to hear you are suffering with all these issues. How unbelievably scary it must be, dealing with this lump, same as your poor Mother had :-( Hope its a positive outcome (or negative for that matter) Migraines are horrible -hope they can help with that. 100 degree weather, unreal, we are at below freezing here. Going to Arizona will help somewhat -they aren't that high now.
Oh your poor hubby has his addictions :-(( Will be very tough to turn that around.. Hope he can do one or the other, but based on the X-Rays of the lungs, it sounds like the smoking should be a priority.
Hope your weather eases for you, feel better soon!

Doing a bit better.

Friday, September 26, 2014

Went out to Sun City with my friend Irene on Tuesday and had a great day. She and her husband are fixing up the retirement home of his parents to sell after their passing. It is a large 3 bedroom, 2 bath in a retirement community over 55+. The bedrooms were at least double the size of ours, but both bathroom were just normal. Sun City is located in Riverside County here in CA near Lake Elsinor.

Then on Wednesday evening got 2 migraines in 4 hours. I am so tired of having these aura headaches. I think they are wearing me out. My doctor put me on medication to take everyday to see if that will help them from not happening because the last 6 weeks or so I have had one at least every 2-3 days & sometimes 2-3 in one day.

Tomorrow my sister is picking me up and her family and I are heading up to Los Angeles to the Grammy Museum. Every year the Smithsonian Museum sponsors a country wide free entrance to a bunch of museums. Last year we went to the Gene Autry Museum, so this year it is the Grammys. Of course parking is not cheap at $21 for the day but I will pay for that since she is driving and is coming up from Hemet to pick me up. I think it should be a lot of fun and will take pictures on my new phone.

Weather here is still warm - hot but does cool off in the evenings. We had one day last week where we were able to turn off the AC for the day and open windows. That was refreshing after running the AC non stop for months. That's about it.

Know what you mean about not being able to turn off the AC and wish that it would get cool here to in Central Florida. As for the headaches have you tried tracking your food along with when the headaches come? It might be something that you eat that is triggering it

Forgot to wear my Sparks Tracker again. Darn!

Monday, September 22, 2014

So I was getting ready for my morning walk and on the way I was going to drop off Phred for his hair cut. In my rush to get him there I forgot to wear the darn trackers. So I had to figure the amount using the Sparks Maps. I just hate when I forget because even when you enter the information yourself it won't count for weekly goals like steps & miles. I can live with that but still makes me mad when I do that.

So the new dog groomer for Phred is just around the corner. I asked for his air to be cut like last time but when I picked him up his hair was a bit longer than I would have liked. it just means I will have to take him back soon. emoticon This place is cheaper than Pet Smart where we use to take him, it is $40 and I leave the girl a $5 tip. Pet Smart was $63+tip for the exact same thing, cut, bath, nails, ears, teeth and gland and he gets a cute little bandanna.

My son Frank & I have finally hit the 21st Century when it comes to phones. We never had any data packages so I couldn't download the Sparks app. Only thing is I did it through the phone app and didn't get any credit. I tried to contact help here but since I also asked why I couldn't see any recipes they got stuck on that. They supposedly sent a link for me to use but it just took to the regular place onsite where you download the apps. I asked twice if I was suppose to unload the app I got from my phone and reload, but got no satisfactory answer. So still no points for the original app but I did find I have to download a couple more to get everything.
At home I use our Wi-Fi network to save on data use and my son has done the same thing. It has taken me a few days to figure out how to use the new phone. We had checked out T-Mobile, ATT, Verizon and over at Costco to see what they offered. Ended up going with a new company here call Cricket (suppose they are back East and Mid West). Its close to walk too, no contract and $50 a month with the phone costing $79 for a Moto-G. Verizon charged $100 for the same phone on a month to month. So glad to be rid of Sprint, had them for 4 yrs and hated them the whole time. I couldn't even get coverage in some points in our house. Cricket use the ATT towers so coverage is very good.

Still having migraines, last night was pretty bad. Just wish they would figure out what is causing so many of them, when I went years only getting a few a year. That will be the next thing the doc's look into after the out patient surgery I wrote about in my last blog.

Hope you all have a great day! Off to take Phred for a walk.

You can uninstall the old one and try to install the new one to see if that will help with it working. Some times they just don't work good with other phones.

You beat me in going into the 21st century with your new phones. I see a Cricket store quire frequently throughout the midwest. Haven't checked into them though. We just have to have good service with all the traveling we do.

I do hope you can find out more about the migraines you are having. They are so miserable!

I have found Pet Smart out of our price range as well. We do our own grooming but our llittle one Keeleigh really needs attention as her coat is very thick and long. Looks like she has a bad hair day all the time :-)D Not sure how anyone can change that but she is so hot all the time.
