No "skinny" women allowed at this gym.

I guess there's a gym in Canada that does not allow "skinny" women and is for "plus-sized" women only.

I think this is crazy!

First of all, what are they basing "skinny" on? Is it BMI, weight, clothing size? Second of all, if you go to this gym and become "skinny" woman by their standards, are you kicked out?
"Great job on your weight loss and hitting your goals. Now get out."

I think that by keeping someone in their comfort zone you are keeping them at the same level they have always been. I understand going to a spinning class when you weigh a lot is not something you want to do and you may not be able to keep up. I get it. I used to be very heavy. Even now, I am often the slowest person in my crossfit class. We're doing rope climbing today and I am NOT a rope climber. Never have been. But I'm going to try because I will never get better if I don't try new things. The fact is that I am going to do my damnest to climb even a foot up that rope.

When I was very heavy, the fit people at the gym inspired me. Obviously they are doing something that worked so I would observe and try to emulate them. Now that I am not that heavy, the only thing I think of when I see a heavy person come in is "way to go!" They're working towards a goal of a healthier life.

    Yeah, I can see both sides of the argument - banning people do to size is not the best path for a society to head down. On the other hand, if just one person who would never join a regular gym joined that win, it is a win for everyone.

I am sure there are members who are inspiring to other members. The article I read didn't go into detail, maybe the gym doesn't "ban" thin women, just won't take them on as members.

If a member becomes thin while there, they are probably encouraged to stay, or that would make sense to me - not only do you not want to get rid of a good customer, they are also a testimonial and showcase for your gym.

    On one hand I think it is ridiculous, on the other hand, I feel that if it is what it takes to get some women in the gym whose only reason to not go is comfort level, then maybe it's not so bad... I don't know how they operate, it would be nice if they had a sort of partnership with a normal gym to allow members to graduate to it when they reach a certain BMI... otherwise they are encouraging people to drop their exercise routine as soon as they get to a certain level..

In the end, I think there are a lot of gyms out there, so as someone with a normal BMI, I wouldn't be offended to not be allowed to that gym...

I've been on Barb's (the dietition) plan for a week now. Want to know what has happened?
6/11: 161 pounds
6/19: 159.6 pounds
6/21: 160 pounds
6/24: 159.4 pounds

COME ON. I burn 2500 calories a week for THAT?. I eat EXACTLY what she says and nothing. I'm on "plan 2" and Barb told me on Thursday that if I hadn't lost at least two pounds by today, I need to switch to "plan 3." Well, I only lost 0.6 pounds so tomorrow I'll be starting the new plan. I hope that works. I'm very frustrated with it.

On a good note, I can start to see my belly getting flatter. I still have some fat around my belly button that sticks out but it is getting smaller. 'Bout damn time since I work out 1-3 times a day and eat clean.

Brandon found an apt. It's a basement part of a 4-plex. Not what we wanted, but we won't be there longer than a year. I was supposed to be there this weekend but my brother's car broke down so I had to stay so he could use mine.

I think a lot of my frustration has to do with my not getting any alone time. Before I go to work, Sam is here. At work people are there. When I go to the gym, people are there. When I come home, Sam is here. Right now I can't even leave because Sam is driving my car to work while his is getting fixed.

Yes I realize that when I get married I will be around Brandon all the time. But he knows that sometimes I just need to be left alone.

    Very frustrating! You're moving in the right direction though. It isn't necessarily about the pounds lost but the great service you are doing for your body by eating clean and exercising. Your heart is healthier, your systems are cleaner and they thank you!
It's a great thing that you are doing, helping out your brother. It may seem like a pain in the butt right now, but good deeds do not go unnoticed.
The day may come when you have more "me" alone time than you ever wanted. Enjoy the people in your life right now. Your time will come. You are blessed to have so many people around and so much going on. Take a deep breath, sugar. It's all good!

    I feel ur pain. The body and weight loss is difficult and the chemistry can be often hard. I won't be surprise that you're losing alot of inches due to muscle gain. Also, the women's' body chemistry is different from men. There are good times and bad times when women can lose more weight then usual (Hint Hint). None the less... move on.

I pray that you guys find another apartment/new home sooner than later.

Lastly, alone time.... YES! I most def feel u on that. I turned my cellphone off yesterday and relaxed. See yesterday's blog. LOL!

Anywho, I pray u get ur alone time. Its good to be able to think and relax. Stay focused!

Plan guidelines & a bank robbery...

First of all, I'm sure you guys want to know about the bank robbery part.

Around 8:45 yesterday morning a guy in Cody that matched the description of someone who robbed a bank in Cheyenne on Friday, went into a credit union and handed a note demanding cash. He left without any cash.

At 11:23 he showed up at my bank's downtown branch. It is a very small branch (two tellers & a personal banker) and one teller was at lunch. He handed Cindy a note demanding money. She gave him some (per our procedures not to put up a fight) and he left. There was no weapon used in either instance.

The cops believe this guy was the same one from Cheyenne. I guess he's making his way around the state since Cheyenne is in the SE corner and Cody is in the NW corner of Wyoming.

It was a very long day. I, as the Auditor, had to stay down at the branch and make sure all information is secured blah blah blah. I had a huge headache by the end of it.

The most important thing is that everyone is safe, from both banks.

My meal plan with day 1 foods:
3 proteins: 2 eggs, 5 oz cottage cheese, 5 oz turkey brat
4 vegetables: 6 stalks celery (counts as 2 servings), 1/2 green pepper, 1 cup green beans
2 fruits: 7 med strawberries, 1/2 cup raspberries
2 starches: 1 slice wheat bread, one crescent
1 fat: 1 Tbs margarine
2 Thermo snacks: PB chocolate protein bar, chocolate fudge cake
8oz skim milk
90-110 oz water

Lots of food it looks like but actually works out to almost 1,300 calories. I can also have diet 7up or Sprite. Anything I eat besides my plan I have to write down. And I record my exercise.

    We had several robberies at one of the stores I worked at. We have branch banks located in our grocery stores and the store employees didn't know the bank had been robbed until the cops showed up and the bank was closed. My cash office for the store was right next to the bank. Was kind of creepy.

One of the robberies, the robber didn't tell the person driving the car that he was going in to rob the bank. So the the driver had gone over to Walgreen's that was in the same shopping strip to shop. Not too bright.

Glad no one got hurt.

That's right! I jumped 24" boxes last night and this morning at crossfit! Man it feels good! When I stand next to the box I can't believe I can jump that high!

As far as the diet, I am tired without carbs again. Feels like when I started paleo. I meet with Barb this afternoon to work out the next phrase of the plan (starting Thursday).

10 weeks. Start..........NOW

Today is the day I start my 10 week weight loss program (followed by six weeks of stabilization) with the dietition. For the next three days I eat two eggs for breakfast, half an orange for a snack in the morning and the other half in the afternoon, and as much meat (no pork) and raw green leafy vegetables as I want.

Tuesday afternoon I meet with Barb (the dietition) and go over the next phase. Food is added or taken away as it affects my weight. The time of day I eat things will also be adjusted so that it fits my body best.

I am very excited to start this as the list of food is very large so it can be done. Also, it will be tailored to me so I am very hopeful that it will work. Here we go.

UPDATE ON OTHER STUFF:
Brandon got the job in Gillette! Yay! I am very excited to move back close to the ranches as my parents are getting up there and can't do ranch work for as long as they used to.

I took last Thursday & Friday off to go to Gillette with Brandon to find an apt. We thought we had found a condo and I left a message on the lady's phone (we had been texting back and forth all day) so we could set up a time to sign papers. I also left the ranch phone number on the message so she could call after we got home since cell phones don't work out there. That was Friday afternoon.

Saturday late morning rolls around and we haven't heard anything. We decide to head our separate ways and work out the paperwork when we heard from her. Ten miles from home my tire blows out. Good thing I got a full sized tire for my birthday. Anyway, I get out to change it and my phone goes off. Text from the landlady saying she rented it out an hour before we left a message. Great. Needless to say, it wasn't an awesome start to the day. I am going to have to buy a new tire since the sidewall blew out on the flat one.

So the last two days I've been looking up more places and sending them to Brandon. He's going back on Wed to look at more places. He's also bringing a big load of furniture that he'll leave in my aunt's garage in town so that when he finds a place it'll be quick to move stuff in.

    Give my congrats to Brandon on the new job. Great that it will be closer to the ranches for you both. Bummer on the condo, but maybe you will find a better place to live.

Keep us posted on your new food plan. Hope it works for you and the last 20 pounds melt off. I am still stuck 165-170. This is getting tough.

    Best of luck with the 20 lbs. Congratulations to Brandon, that is awesome and what a great start for you two. I think the positive definitely outweighs the tire & apartment. It sounds like you have a very close knit family who is always willing to help out.
