Kids Back in school

I love my boys, but they have been out of school almost 3 weeks. It was time for all of us to get a break. LOL Actually it was a really nice Christmas break. We got to play out in the snow a lot, we read books, play games and went to a few movies. I love the time with them but I need some ME time too.

My plans now that they are back in school are:

1) Sew something-either make an apron or finish my quilt that is done except the quilting.

2) read more

3) de-clutter my craft room

4) organize and scrapbook my kids school years. I am way behind on this. Even thinking of getting one of those pre-made books for my youngest.

I think that will keep me busy for a while.

those are some great goals. I myself has my list beside me and whats on it? lol Organize, organize, organize lol. from the sewing room to the filing cabinet and points in between. We can never find anything because we dont make a home for it first, get a pair of scissors out and do we put it back where it belongs? well No, I have got to say I do a better job of putting things back then the DH. But I felt like this is the Yr to de clutter also. Books? well I have 5 ordered on amazon. com lol my brothers wife and I swap books we read the same type and it all has to be non fiction well we do get into james patterson, and my fav is John Grisham ( he needs to come out with something new) lol. At the moment Im reading Jimmy Buffets A salty piece of land, a good novel. I have wanted it since it came out but it was only in hard back and very pricey so k mart had it on sale for 7.00 so i grabbed it lol.We are making plans for camping not sure we are going to winter camp but I do have a week out in Feb so that might happen. But yeah De clutter and organize is tops on my list also with it laying right here beside me lol. I would love to see some aprons you have sewn. I use to be quite a seamstress myself, curtains, bedspreads, table cloths, my daughters clothes, my clothes, square dance dresses and mens western shirts. I got out of that but want to get started again. Aprons seems like a good thing to start on also Hmmm might get me motivated. It's 2008. Where in the world did 2007 go. I'm excited for this new year. This is the year I will achieve my weight goal. The difference in this year and last is I feel so much better. I know I am eating healthy and exercising to make myself strong. Plus the fun of seeing my children follow in my foot steps. I'll be stepping along or jogging and they start jogging with me. It's a game to them but that's OK because it will lead to healthy lives and bodies.

My birthday is coming up and today on QVC they were selling a pilates machine and system. I do pilates all the time with my Winsor tapes and love it. But I have always wanted the machine. So my DH (did I tell you how wonderful he is) told me to order it. So of course I didn't hesitate. I'm so excited to receive it and get started. We were going to buy a GPS for geocaching but we can't do that right now anyway since everything is under snow. Spring will be a good time to buy one.

It feels a lot like Christmas

How exciting to be in the middle of the Holiday Season. My shopping is almost done. There is snow outside and bright blue sky. I love this time year.

My Nascar team has started a few challenges for this season. #1 we are keeping track of our calories burned. We are only 10 days in the month and have burned more than 10 days worth of calories. Now we have a new challenge going for strength training. Not my strength. :( But then I guess I need to do it. I have been doing the exercise of the day with on of my other teams but I know that isn't enough.

My weight I have maintain this month so feel good about that. Would like to lose a pound or two before Christmas.

Need to start planning Christmas meals. It will just be us so I think I will keep it rather simple. This way we will have lots of time to play. Hopefully the snow will still be here.

Made it through Thanksgiving

Well Thanksgiving is over and I remained the same weight. Was even on vacation so I feel pretty good about that.

My Daughter has gone home now and things are getting back to normal. Had a good workout today and hope that is a sign of the rest of the month.

It snowed today so I guess shoveling snow will be a good way of burning some calories. I just looked outside and it is 3 degrees. The poor dog had to go out. LOL I bet he will want in quickly.

December is here and I love this time of year. people are putting up their decorations and it is so cheerful. My goal for this month is to increase my stepping average and to hopefully lose a few pounds. I have joined a few challenges and that should help me. I hope everyone has a great holiday season.

Right now weight loss isn't at the top of my list of subjects I want to write a blog about.

I have a friend on Walker Tracker that has found out she has breast cancer. She is having surgery on Thursday. It is all happening very quickly. I have never met her in person, she lives in a different country. But still she is a friend and we have had many laughs and gone through many (stepping) challenges together.

My thoughts and prayers are with you Debby. I hope the surgery goes well and you are up and around soon. We miss you terribly. Take care my friend.

Sorry to hear about your friend. A friend of mine went through surgery and radiation for breast cancer a few years ago and she is doing great now. They continue to make such wonderful advances in medicine all the time. Give her my best. Report Inappropriate Comment
