Holidays approaching

With the holidays approaching it is time to make a plan. We will be leaving for vacation in a few weeks, I have girlfriends coming over this weekend for movie night and many Christmas parties and activities going to happen.

When the activities are here it is much easier since I have control over what is served. I love this time of year and I love to decorate for fall and Christmas. But I also do a lot of baking for friends at this time. Need to check out spark for some new cookies recipes and bread recipes that will cut down on fat and sugar. That will be my first goal. Then make a list of recipes for our party. Be sure to include lo-cal beverages and some fruit and vegetable trays. Perhaps serve some dips for those not watching there waist line.

Mainly I need to keep on exerciseing. The weather is changing and less likely will be out walking and jogging. So need to get out the tapes and keep moving at this time.

On vacation I just talked to my dad and all the foods they mentioned were high fat foods. So I told him not to worry about fixing much since we will be busy at Sea World and such places they probably won't have to worry to much about dinner. We will have a traditional dinner on Thanksgiving, but you have to live so will just make sure I stop when full. I think I will bring along some snacks for us to have just in case.

November 1st we start using our holiday dinner ware. The kids get excited and it is just festive and fun. Hope everyone has a great holiday season.

40 pounds gone

Yipee, 40lbs gone, forever (I hope). Still have some to go, but I feel so good compared to that out of breath person that first started the end of January. One more pound and I will be just fat and not obese. I can't wait. Today I went shopping for my reward (purse) and got a great deal at Macy's. They were having a sale so I had to buy it. So now I get to look at it till I lose that one pound. Then I get my reward. LOL

The next 20 pounds. I don't know how long it will take. Slow and steady wins the race. The first 40 took longer than I thought it would, but they are gone now. So I'm not on a time schedule. I will just take it in small sections. Five pounds at a time.

Yipee did I tell you 40 pounds are gone? Have you ever seen 40 pounds of ground beef? It's a lot. YIPEE!!!

    Yes 40 pounds is a lot of Meat.. I am proud of you!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you still working with the running? I have been learning some new dance moves heard dancing would burn fat also..But sometimes check out Cupid Shuffle on Itube.
But keep up the good work I am proud of you!!!!!!!!!!

So I have started a running program. It's more walking right now than running but I am getting there. I am taking Nemo out Monday, Wednesday and Friday. He will get his exercise and I will get mine. It was kind of fun Monday we were running and he came right next to me and ran with me for a short time. Told him what a good dog he was. Today we went out in back and ran and hiked the hills. It is beautiful weather and the sky is perfectly clear. A little brisk in the morning and a slight breeze. Couldn't ask for better running weather.

I re-joined the virtual racing team. Hopefully they will have a 5K in October. Will use this time as my training. Love my New Balance running shoes. They are working out great. Will check back in later to update how this program is going. Hope everyone elses exercise program is going well.

    I have been meaning to stop by and thank you for your good vibes about my getting ready for my high school reunion!! Hope your walking soon to be running program is working out well for you and that your shoes are doing their part in giving your feet and ankles that oh so important support!! Nothing new

The weather is cooling and the kids are back in school. Been working on the carnival for the strings fundraiser. Will be glad when Friday is over. I think it will be a lot of fun, but sure has been a lot of work.

My back is finally getting better. Did my "The Firm" video yesterday and it went really well. 45 min. which is the most I have done yet. Today I plan to do 2 miles WATP and my pilates. Need to start stretching those muscles.

My eating has been good. Even when I am bad it isn't that bad. So I feel good about that. Have not been spending much time tracking on the tracker. As long as I'm not going up I guess that is ok. But if I notice going back to old habits I will start tracking again.

Had a really good day with my steps yesterday. Don't think I'll beat that but will try to get up there again today. Need to make sure I get all my vegies in. I was low 1 yesterday.

Fall

Fall is almost here. I can't wait. Cooler temps seem to give me so much more energy. The kids are back in school. I miss them of course, but I can go shopping and not spend a fortune. Yes I say no but I also say yes.

Lately exercising has been so much more enjoyable since it is cooler. I just started doing a "the firm" video and love it. It incorporates stretching, strength training and low impact aerobics. I also love to just walk. We went for a walk last night as a family. It was the first time in a long time. I hope we start doing it more.

We don't have a lot of trees here so can't see the leaves turning like in CA, but you can feel it in the air. Soon winter will be here and I will get all kinds of exercise shoveling snow. I don't mind it is kind of fun. I don't have a huge driveway like a lot of people.

So enjoy this time of year. I hope all those areas that were getting flooding dry out a little before winter. I'm so thankful for the cooler temperatures.

    I love the fall weather also. I am hoping it will put my fanny in gear to walk longer. I cant wait to start making the good veggie soups and stews.
