Weight: 120 pounds

So I'm now up almost 3 pounds since I last posted (2 months ago), and 120 is my "danger danger" "alarm bells sound" "red flag" weight.

I've been eating too many carbs and sweets of late, weighing in daily, but not tracking my food intake. I've been succeeding and failing at keeping my StickK contracts, and just too doggone busy for my own good. Heard of women who do too much? That's me right now, even though I seem to have little to show for it.

May 29 I plan to resume Cycle One of the 17DD - why am I waiting? I have a goal of 112 pounds, and a certain date by which I want to reach it. Factoring in all three cycles, May 29 is the day I need to start and STICK with it. In the meantime, I plan to eat more fresh fruits and veggies (yay, spring/summer!), walk more, drink more water (at least 3 glasses daily), and cut back on the carbs and sweets.

This afternoon is my book club meeting where there are often treats. Tonight is a potluck to end our small group meetings for the season. This is probably not the best day to start, but I'm going to give it my best shot. If I fail, I start IN EARNEST tomorrow.

Blessings for Friday and the weekend,

You know, that's exactly what I decided to do! I've already made a macaroni salad for the potluck, but I will plan not to have any, and we're also supposed to bring a dessert, so I'm going to take a fruit tray. Re the book club, the host will be providing refreshments, so I don't have much say in it. She may have something healthy though because she herself never has anything more than water at meetings scheduled elsewhere. Thanks for the support!

Can you bring some fruit to book club and something healthy to the potluck? Sometimes I find that if I try just a small spoonful of fave potluck treats, that's often sufficient. Good luck with your goals! It sounds like you're MOTIVATED!

Back to Cycle One

Weight: 117.2 pounds

I've lost 3 pounds since I last posted on January 7, but I was battling to get back here until I returned to Cycle One last Monday. Today I am on day 9 of the Cycle. It's going well, though I haven't been perfect.

On January 7 my posted goal was to get back to 117. My goal now is 112, not because I need to be that skinny forever, but because we're planning a trip overseas later in the year, where they like their foods rich and sweet. Of course I will want to try the local cuisine, but I don't want to come back 10 pounds heavier! 112 allows me a 5 pound cushion (technically 8, but I never want to be at red flag 120 again, so I'm lowering my red flag number to 117).

I hope you haven't gotten tired of waiting for a new post from me, and look forward to hearing from you again soon! My daughter, by the way, has decided to eat a more vegetarian diet, so if anyone has any suggestions for tips, please send them my way!

Have a healthy day :)

Weight: 120.2 pounds

Cardio activity: snow-shoveling, 10 minutes

As of yesterday morning, I was down to 119.2 pounds. What happened?

Christmas pudding, that's what. That and too many carbs yesterday, coupled with not enough exercise.

It's intolerable.

I've already had my two carbs for today - in multigrain Cheerios and a slice of dark rye bread this morning. The rest of the day is under close scrutiny as I monitor my food intake on SP and make careful choices.

Must. Get. Back. to. 117.

I Know What Happened

Weight: 120.4 pounds

Cardio: walking the dog?

I thought for sure when I stepped on the scale this morning that I would be down from yesterday. Instead I am up .2 pounds. A minor fluctuation, I know, but in the wrong direction.

But I know what happened. I know I shouldn't have had pancakes at all yesterday, but I thought it would be a treat to start the new year. I forgot to make them for breakfast (had oatmeal cereal and a teeny piece of toast with peanut butter instead), then decided to make them for lunch.

That was my downfall, along with a piece of chocolate cake after supper.

Today is a new day. My hips are sore from walking with Leslie the last couple of days, so I am taking a break from a formal workout to give them a rest. But I have had a good walk with the dog, and am watching my food intake carefully. So far today I've had a small bowl of oatmeal cereal and a yogurt, along with coffee. I know it's not traditional 17DD fare...

Weight December 22: 117.8
Weight today: 120.2
Gain: 2.4 pounds

Cardio: Walk Jog with Leslie Sansone

Well, it was to be expected given the lack of restrictions on carbs and sweets over the holiday. Yes, I'm back in the 'danger' zone! I'm okay with that because I know that as long as I don't let it go any further, I can easily remove these few excess pounds. In fact, I bet by January 5 I am back in the 117 range!

How did everyone else make out over the holidays? Hold fast? Awesome! You rock! Lose? Oh my goodness, you are my new role model!! Gain a few or more? Hang in there - together we can resume healthy choices and drop the weight!

Happy New Year, everyone. Here's to us in the year 2013!
