Plan to Fail?

Saturday, August 04, 2012

If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.................... how many times have I heard this and said this?!

Well failure is no longer an option - I'm making an updated plan - and one that will work for me!

Thanks Krys for the 'shake' and Tiffany for showing how determination can make excuses look feeble!

So I've got a full schedule with full time work, a family at home, repetitive back/hip injury and launching a small business in November, 1st Grandchild due, a social life and even time to sleep - wow - aren't I the clever one!

Fiddlesticks!!!!!!!! Hundreds of sp members have the same lifestyle and STILL manage to reach their goals.

My Plan? To get back to my original sp enthusiasm and do the work to make my goal happen and turn my Plan to Fail into Plan to Succeed.

I'm 50 next May - that was my goal - and I've wasted 3 yrs 'trying' - am no longer going to be a Human being - I'm gonna be a Human Doing!!

I really am on a countdown now and being serious is the game - I'm going to play hard and be the winner and get my very own winners medal - I've got 10 months to train and my 1st session starts today.

As per the Olympics......... I'm going for Gold!

    emoticon We all have busy schedules, but that's not an excuse to not take care of ourselves. When I turned 50, I said I was going to be healthier than when I was in my
40's. So far I've lived up to that and I feel wonderful. In fact, I can do most everything I did in my 20's. If I can do it, anyone can do it. Remember, we're here for all the support

What a pig of a day!! LOLM

Wednesday, May 16, 2012

emoticon

My day yesterday was manic........... took care of alzheimers client whilst husband having eye op, so that was an early start! Then her insulin pen didn't work so had to get another one out of the fridge, then wait for it to be at room temp.............. plus timing with her food, great start to the day. Then someone came to relieve me so I could go the farm,

here's where the fun REALLY starts:

Managing farm shop, blowing an absolute gail, had to cover the plants with sheets that wanted to fly away and take me with them, then the hailstorms started and stopped all play, or so I thought! A huge lorry arrived with a compost delivery for sale and whilst that was being unloaded, a PIG trotted by?!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep I couldn't believe it either lol........... well obviously it had burst itself out of its pen and decided to take a stroll down to the road entrance! The A49!!! (a killer road)

Now this is one MASSIVE LADY PIG lol but we did manage to divert it back into the field where it started frolicing and running wild and having a fine ole time - all I had to do was keep it there, little ole me with a broom stick held horizontal to give me 'biggness' lol.

Whilst owner dealt with the delivery the pig continued happily and getting further into the field which was great............. so I relaxed and kept my eye on the farm shop etc, but when I looked back that blasted pig was heading towards me at full gallop (yep, it was a gallop) with is head and ears being thrown about in delight, which is great, but at me - Heeelllp!!!!

There was NO way I was going to be able to stop this pig.............. was there? Well my farming experiences are few, but I decided to plod as fast as I could towards this pig, weilding my horizontal broom and yelling - and that pig just stopped in surprise - as did I lol!

How triumphant was I.............. until I saw where it was head towards, its pen alright, but via a HUGE pig/hen dung heap! I couldn't believe this................. and yes it was having a wonderful time rolling and nuzzling and jumping about - but the smell - urgh, so I just backed off, and just in time, cause it decided to shake itself like a dog and spray muck everywhere - you should have seen me stagger back as fast as I could - but that was it - Ray could deal with the rest, I wasn't going any nearer!!!

I now understand fully the expression: 'Happy as a pig in Muck' (polite version lol)

Just in case you wondered what I'd been up to lol

M x

The last time this pig escaped it did get into the farm shop first, pinched two loaves of bread in bags, carried in mouth and on got onto the road - a friendly local van driver rescued and returned her and she quite happily trotted back into the field still with the bread dangling from her mouth - she's obviously a great escape artist!!

1st Zumba Steps!

Tuesday, April 10, 2012

So there we were, my friend and I, wearing the workout clothes and footwear and clutching our faithful bottles of water as if our lives depended on it! And almost superglued to the back wall in the hopes that we might blend in with the paintwork!

Zumba........................ the dance craze thats hit the world has arrived in our local area and we've convinced ourselves that we can do it! I may have worked out in private but this is the first time I would have worked out in public for years!

But hey, there's a familiar face, so I smile and catch her eye and strike up a conversation hoping that we are in the same boat - only to find out that she'd been doing this since the class started over a year ago in a different area! But we were made very welcome and the class was about to start.

On went the music - loudly - and the moves were explained and off we went - both in the wrong direction lol!! Rearranged our footwork we put ourselves right and enjoyed the rest of the class with a few giggles and wrong moves and plenty of SWEAT!

We really did enjoy ourselves and fell in love with the atmosphere, so we are now addicted and ready for the next go!

Why did I wait so long? Probably because our area is a bit behind the times and everything is always so far away from our village or set to day time sessions when us workers can't attend!

So if you haven't tried it yet, take my word for it - its so much fun and you burn over 400 calories during the hour's session!

In the meantime - ignore the News Item about the Zumba Tutor being stalked - that'll be me! lol.

I've definitely got my Mojo back and its dancing all the way!

M xx

MARCH MADNESS 31 Day Challenge

Thursday, March 01, 2012

As per the A Better Me Team.

During this month I want to have achieved at least 4 Hikes, hopefully more. Still re-energising after having the flu - so taking it easy for the first few days.

Day 1 = Abs & Tummy workout = DONE: 100 Crunches
Day 2 =Upper Body Workout = DONE: 10 mins + 30 squats
Day 3 (Sat) = Hike or Walk + Squats, Crunches
Day 4 (Sun) = 10,000 steps at least + Cardio

Day 5 = Abs & Tummy workout
Day 6 = Upper Body Workout/10,000 steps or hike
Day 7 = Lower Body Workout
Day 8 = Full Body Workout
Day 9, 10, 11 = Weekend Away - Use of Hotel Gym!

Day 12 = Abs & Tummy Workout
Day 13 = Upper Body Workout
Day 14 = Lower Body Workout/ 10,000 steps
Day 15 = Full Body Workout
Day 16 = 10,000 steps walk +
Day 17 (Sat) = Hike
Day 18 (Sun) = Hike

Day 19 = Day off work - As much walking and exercise as I can!
Day 20 = 10,000 steps walk +
Day 21 = Abs & Tummy Workout
Day 22 = Upper Body Workout
Day 23 = Full Body Workout
Day 24 = Hike
Day 25 = Out to Lunch - Eat Healthy + Abs & Tummy Workout

Day 27 = Hike/10,000 steps walk +
Day 28 = Upper Body Workout
Day 29 = Abs & Tummy Workout
Day 30 = Full Body Workout
Day 31 (Sat) = Hike

The above is the minimum I will aim for - hikes are obviously weather permitting but will try an alternative if these cant be achieved. All written down in my diary - which acts as my brain and memory!

I'll come back to this blog on a regular basis to comment beside each day about my achievements - so this can also be my record keeping for March.

Thanks Team - I don't just want weight loss I want inch loss so I can get my black leather trousers to do up again - need to lose 2 inches to be comfortable lol!

Noah's Ark................

Wednesday, February 15, 2012

The 'Magic Pill' was no different than everything I had to do through sparks, so cancelled that programme and saved some pennies! So back to the grindstone!

This is something I found a long time ago and although its a bit of fun, there's many a true word spoken in jest:

NOAH'S ARK: Everything I need to know about life, I learned from Noah's Ark:
1) Don't miss the boat.
2) Remember that we are all in the same boat.
3)Plan Ahead, it was raining when Noah built the Ark.
4) Stay fit, when you are 600 yrs old, someone may ask you to do something really big!.
5) Don't listen to critics, just do the job that needs to be done.
6) Build your future on high ground.
7) For safety, travel in pairs.
8) Speed isn't always an advantage, The snails were on-board with the cheetahs.
9) When you are stressed, float awhile
10) Remember, the ark was built by amateurs, the Titanic by professionals!
11) No matter the storm, there is always a rainbow waiting............
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~
Hope you all had a Happy Valentine and are now behaving yourself before the temptations of Easter arrive lol !
Love Mandy x
