Aunt Juanita

Friday, July 10, 2009

Yesterday my Aunt Juanita had her nieces at her house for a luncheon. It was great to see several of my cousins who came from out of town for the event. My Aunt Juanita is an amazing lady. She is 86 years old, but you would never know it by looking at her. She lives alone, but she is never lonely. She is very active in the community, PLUS she teaches several line dance classes each week in addition to attending three or four ballroom dances weekly. She does all of her own driving. She does all of her own EVERYTHING. She grows all sorts of vegetables in her garden, and she picks them, cans them, and whatever else you have to do to them..I do know that she served several of her garden vegetables with the meal yesterday. What keeps her going and so healthy and strong at 86 years of age? My guess would be it is her active and healthy lifestyle. Take care all, and keep in touch.

I, too, want to be like your Aunt Juanita! I have nieces whom I adore. How I would love to be this kind of inspiration to them when I am in my 80's! That's one of my long-range goals.

How nice it would be to have a visit with your Aunt Juanita.

Yes, it really IS amazing. Two of Aunt Juanita's friends also attended the luncheon. Both of these ladies are also in their late 80's and they both take her line dance classes. They do the ballroom dancing, too. One of the ladies (Miss Hattie) had to leave early because she had to be at her "Digital Camera" Class. Isn't that something? LOL One of the gyms where I work has a "Computer" classes for seniors. This is all great because it gives the seniors an opportunity to keep up with modern technology. Sounds good to me!

I want to be like Aunt Juanita. I have a few ladies in a special senior's class that I teach. Two of them are in their 90's and still driving cars and still entertaining their friends. Isn't it amazing!

Your Aunt Juanita sounds like my daddy who is 89. You hit the nail on the head--because they stay active, they are able to keep on keeping on. I just hope and pray that I will be that independent when I reach his age. lol Linda Kay

One Piece of Important Paperwork..DONE

Wednesday, June 03, 2009

Today, I completed one piece of very important paperwork that has been looming heavily on my mind and my pocketbook for about two months. I did not get it done earlier because I did not know how to do it. I did not know what all I needed to do, nor what I did NOT need to do. I just knew that I had an important not piece but 'packet' of forms that needed to be looked at, filled out or not filled out, signed, and returned to the sender. I made a call to the main office and I was told step by step what to do and what I did NOT need to do. What's odd is the 'packet' of paperwork had at least 100 sheets of information included, but 96 of them were useless, and there were only 4 sheets that were necessary. What a waste of their time, my time, paper, postage, and worry and stress for me. It really feels good to be getting it in the mail tomorrow. Take care all and keep in touch.

Here Comes the Bride....

Monday, June 01, 2009

Since June is such a popular month for weddings, I'd like to send my best wishes to all of our members who will be getting married this month. I have received invitations to four weddings, so I am going to be doing quite a bit of celebrating during the month of June. My son is the best man in one of his friend's weddings next weekend. I am looking forward to that. I hope I can stay on track while attending all of the special occasions. Take care all, and keep in touch.

Just dance a lot and watch the wedding cake and champagne. That should even everything out. Weddings are all about celebrating, so most of all have a good time.
