Another dreary day. I don't think the sun was out at all, not even for one minute. Someone said that more freezing precipitation was expected during the early morning hours. We did not park at the bottom of the driveway, so I am surely hoping that does not occur. Things were going on as usual today. The schools were open, and I did all of my classes plus one for the guy who teaches the evening SPIN class after my Cardio class.
I hope your day was GREAT!

Things are clearing up, and everything is back in business for tomorrow, I think. As least everything that involves my sons and me is open again. I am parked in the garage tonight rather than at the bottom of the hill, so that is good. The temperatures for this week will be above freezing, so things are looking up around here. We made it!
I hope you have a GREAT WEEK!

I received an email that the training at the YMCA was canceled. There really wasn't much of anything going on with the weather. On Friday, we had sleet for a couple of hours, but traffic was still flowing OK. I only taught two classes at the Y because they closed early at 1:00 PM. Everything scheduled for Friday was pretty much canceled. There was to be a St. Jude's Marathon in downtown Memphis early this morning. It was canceled. Today the sun came out around 10:00 AM and the ice started melting. The temperature was still only in the 20's but the ice melted where the sun was shining. Our driveway thawed out, and we were able to bring the vehicles up to the house.
Tonight my two sons and I went to the Grizzlies basketball game in downtown Memphis, and the 40 miles of road that we traveled were just fine. More bad weather is predicted for some time in the early morning hours, so we are still parked at the bottom of the hill. I have two classes tomorrow at the YMCA, so I don't know if they will run or be canceled. I will have to wait and see.
I think why everyone is ''freaking out" is because we had a severe ice storm back in 1994 where EVERYONE lost power. We were without power for 4 days, and others were without power for TWO WEEKS! The schools were closed for days, and the streets were icy for days. This one coming through was predicted to be similar to that one, but fortunately, it did NOT happen! Since 1994, new improvements were made to our power lines so that they did not fall down due to being iced over. PLUS the road conditions are being handled better, and there are more cars on the road to pack down the ice.
Anyway, for now things are looking OK, and we will have to see what tomorrow brings.
I hope you are in an area that is not getting snow or ice.

It has been a light rain most of the day, and it continues into the evening. No sign of sleet, ice, or snow yet. Most everything at churches and other meetings was canceled for this evening. Schools were canceled for tomorrow before 6:00 PM today. Those who 'know' are expecting some kind of big ice storm, but nothing so far. Oh, the races for this weekend have been canceled, so I don't have to figure out how to be there and at the training also. Now, I am just hoping that we get 'nothing' or if we do get 'something' that it is gone by Saturday so that I can get to the training. An email stated, "If the building is open, the training will be held." However, if the roads are bad (and these back roads WILL be bad if the predictions are correct), then PAM will not be there. Just have to wait and see.
I hope your weather is nice, but I see from the comments that several of you have weather that is very similar to our Memphis weather..almost HOT on Wednesday and FREEZING on Thursday.
Whatever kind of weather you have, I hope you have a nice day!

Well, this is weird...72 degrees today, and an extreme drop in the temperature beginning tomorrow night. Rain and sleet is predicted for either tomorrow night or Friday. Who knows if all of this will actually happen? I am scheduled to attend a "MANDATORY" training at the YMCA on Saturday beginning at 9:00 AM and ending at noon. Then there is one last race scheduled on Saturday afternoon. I should be there around 10:00 AM, BUT I will be in the training. In a way, I hope it does rain, so that the races will be canceled. I saw somewhere that it will be in the 20's on Saturday night. BRRRRRR if I thought it was cold there during the last couple of races, that was nothing compared to the 20's. I am still trying to figure out how I can be TWO places at once. If you come up with any ideas, please pass them along to me.
Have a GREAT DAY, and I hope the weather is nice in your area like it was here today.
