I feel like I'm dying. Okay, maybe that's a little melodramatic, but yesterday afternoon my throat started hurting a little. I thought it was just normal with the weather fluctuations (we're supposed to get some showers this week), and went on my merry way to work out.
I weighed myself and found that I lost 4 lbs from the week previous! (A pound or two came from me taking off my gym card lanyard that had my car keys on it - HAH!) I'm officially at 30+ lbs lost! Woo hoo!
Okay, so, energized, I boosted my TreadClimber work out with some additional intensity and the machine read 275 cal after 15 mins (plus 2 mins cool down). My face was lobster red, and my neck was sore (I was swinging it around to my music a little too much, I thought), and my throat still hurt and was swollen. I took NyQuil and Tylenol PM last night.
This morning NOT ONLY do I have an official sore, swollen throat (and glands), but I started my cycle. GEEZ!
Today I'm still going to walk 1 mile at 3:00, but then I'm going to rest at home instead of going to the gym after work. I need to pay closer attention to the clues my body sends me. PLUS, I can NOT be sick this weekend. My nephew has his 5th birthday, and a couple of my friends have theirs... It's so packed that I already have vacation scheduled for Monday. I don't want to spend it sick.

I drink more water when I have some near me. Plus, if I can refill a novelty bottle, I drink even more. I just got this Icelandic Glacial Spring Water (33.8 fl oz!!!). It's tall enough to hold a lot at once, yet slim for my tiny bitty hands (they're small), and the opening is petite, like a smaller water bottle.
This is the biggest bottle I've had so far! I was using Aquafina's 20 oz mostly, and then just last week I purchased a bottle shaped like a flask (in honor of St. Patrick's Day), called "Liquid Salvation". That one was fun. I went to a birthday/St. Patrick's Day party last Friday and kept refilling the flask with water. I ran around saying that I was drinking IRISH WATER. It was fun, plus I got less crap from my friends for not drinking alcohol. (Half of them thought it was filled with booze anyway.)
Okay, so does anyone else do this, or am I just a freak?
(Oh, remember, if you want to try it out, or refill any water bottle: Most plastics used for water bottles start to break down after awhile. It's probably not safe to refill the same bottle for more than a week or two. But it's great for recycling!)

So, this week instead of again dropping far more weight than I expected, I gained 1 pound. I'm sure part of the difference is because I (mistakenly) weighed myself after working out the previous time. Then I read an article about that today, and made sure I did it BEFORE my cardio.
Even though I knew that I needed to lose weight more slowly (I don't want baggy skin.. blehck.), I was still disappointed.
So--it's time to focus on OTHER goals. (This is not a cop out.) Here's my plan. I will think more about my goals and post them later.
-I will weigh myself in 1 month, instead of this crazy every week deal.
-When I do, I will expect little change, but instead look for change in my measurements, strength and flexibility.
-I will work on extending my cardio sessions. I'll shoot for 10 minutes on the treadclimber each day this week and focus on getting stronger.
-And, maybe this coming weekend I'll actually plan what I'll eat and fit some aerobic exercise in.

How do you untoast a bagel?!
Step 1: Toss overtoasted bagel into a zip top baggy.
Step 2: Leave in fridge 2 to 3 days.
Step 3: Remove from baggy.
You'll have a soft and chewy ex-toasted bagel! TA-DAH! I'm glad I held onto the onion bagel that I burned Friday morning. The burned parts are more mild, plus I could pull them off if I really wanted to. I hate wasting food, so I'm happy. Geez, this makes me sound cheap.

It's on its way today from Netflix! I'm hoping this will have some basic moves. It'll get me closer to my goal of taking a bellydancing class!
~WOOT WOOT!~
Yesterday I didn't go to the gym, but I did get my "goal" cardio minutes in elsewhere.
I'm having a hard time eating ENOUGH calories. I know I don't want to eat under my target nutrition, and I'm not trying to, but every day this week it's been that way. I WANT to make healthier choices. And I want to make it a habit. I'm eating more things, more frequently than ever before, and it's still under. The last thing that I want to do is add caloric intake to my new habits, and then get stuck when I need to trim them out. :S I might turn on the menu and just try to stick to that.
