Foiled again !!!!

Thursday, August 12, 2010

I somehow hurt my shoulder yesterday, and with the impending move I opted out of working out this am. I was considering just turbojam, but then thought better of it and as much as I am not happy with it thought it would be best to take the day off. One day off is better then a week lost trying to push it. Ohh well. poohhh

    What did you do, Linda.?

Make sure that you don't overdue it with moving either. Take your time. Call some friends, that what they are for.

Trust your body, if you feel you can't work out, don't. Otherwise you could injure yourself.

Lean for Life Anyone ????

Friday, August 06, 2010

Thank you all for your comments on my other blog.

I have decided to start the Lean for Life program in Chalean extreme on Monday. It will be a change up in the workout. I am not lean yet, but I think the change up will help. I personnally do not like the Lean phase cycles as they are longer so it takes up more of my morning as I do cardio after. I was basicly done with the last week when I started to feel sour. So on Monday I will start with Lean cycle one, then Push cycle 1 then Burn cycle 1. I will do my normal cardio to go with it. I know that eating is 80 percent of loosing weight. So I will try to start tracking again on Monday. This week is going to be hard as I am moving but, I will do the best I can. Maybe I need a menu change up too. Could be part of it is I am bored with what I am eating. So any ideas with that would be great. But quick and simple, I hate to cook for myself. But I do try to eat little processed food. It seems to help the fibro. hmmmm So if anyone is doing CXL, what to join me in Lean for Life?

Cheers,
Linda

Workout sour?

Thursday, August 05, 2010

As a catch up from my last blog, I did try the Jillians DVD and do love it. However recently I feel like I am just not motivated to do anything workout or track. I love what I do as far as working out so it does not make sense to me. I do have alot alot going on and am depressed at times also. But I was wondering if anyone takes a short break from it all.... just to well give them self a break. The rest of this week I am taking off from everything... I have thought about it and am afraid if I do not continue to workout I will get use to the idea of not doing it and just not. Even though I have read that loosing weight is 80 percent what you eat, I feel that I will let that part go next week and continue to workout. This was my last week of CXL lean cycle, so what I think I will do is start Lean for Life for a while to see if the variation helps me get more motivated. So has anyone done this before or felt like this.

Thanks,

Linda

A couple of rest days is often "just what the Dr. ordered." More than that though, and it's hard to re-start. If possible try to at least do an active something you really enjoy. Taking a walk, 10 minutes of yoga, or try Zumba! (There are lots of fun clips on youtube you can try.)

I had depression for over a year and when people suggested that I eat more to lose more I did and gained 31 lbs. But it was really depression that set me back. I lost an eye due to Dr. error (he cut my eye) and it set me back a lot. I was at goal at the time and maintaining but soon lost all my oomph. I had to start looking at ONLY the positives in my life and reaching out to my family and God to get back on track emotionally. I wish you well..

BTW: Calorie restriction is 80% of where you lose weight..

    Hi Linda....
I have been out of the loop lately as well. I think we just have to do the best we can every time that we can and not beat ourselves up because our days don't fit an "IDEAL" that we have in mind. I know I am better because I am more 'aware' of my weak choices and bit by bit, I hope I will continue to improve. Our 'spark' resources sure give us lots of support!
Keep up the good work my friend!

Why not try changing up your workout. Do something completely different that the norm. That always helps give me a break while not giving up completely on my calorie burn for the day! emoticon

Thank you all for the advice. My day to be back on is Monday. It is just going to be for a few days. As I am moving I have so much to do. I think that will make up some of the working out. Not all but some anyway.

Cheers,
Linda

I took a break for a while and gained 10 pounds but that does not mean you will. I have medical problems that make it necessary for me to stay on plan. If you do this then have a set date when you will return to your plan. Don't use it as an excuse to eat and drink whatever. You will pay for it.

I think it would be best if you talked to someone about your depression. I bet that is what's making you feel like taking a break instead of your body needing a break. Sometimes we all need a break from it all, but it should be your body giving you those clues mostly because you may have been working too hard. I hope you get the help you need and feel better!

    Hi Linda,

I know exactly what you are feeling. I went through that last year. I had nailed down a routine, and had been sticking with it and was happy with the results. At the same time I was depressed, it had taken up so much of my attention, that I felt like I forgot to live in other ways. So I decided to take a really short break, just a week. That was in early October of last year, and I am just getting back to it now. It was one long week, huh? haha. Everyone is different, but it is a huge regret for me. If I were to feel like that again, I would give myself permission (and only if I really really needed it) to take a break from a small aspect of it, and take that time to dedicate to something I would really enjoy. But I would maintain the rest of my routine. I think I also might promise myself a small incentive, like a book or dvd, if I did a full week after my recess. Again, everyone is different, but this struck home for me.

Today...

Friday, July 23, 2010

Today I treated me I purchased a new workout DVD, one by Jillian Michaels called Banish Fat Boost Metabolism. It is suppose to be really hard and interval training, that I have found I love to do. I needed a new cardio DVD, and I love Chalene Johnson but her work is not easy to get ( having to order online or ebay). Also her DVD's can be expensive. I really want to get her Turbo Fire series but I will need to wait until it can be purchased on Ebay or used some where else. I also picked up some meal replacement bars as I have hit a rut of not caring about eating. I know I am hungry and should eat something.... but I just do not care to. Originally I was going to get South Beach, but they are expensive. So I picked up a box from Odwalla and one from The Zone. These where less expensive and have alot of nutrients. With the working out I do, I know I have to have good nutrition, so this is the compromise to not eating as I do not want to stop working out. I have worked to hard to get where I am, I do not want to quite now. I need to pick up more fruit but did not feel up to it.... but I did pick up some nice lettuce for a salad later. So with the bars, oatmeal, lettuce, cheese and hard boiled eggs, it should get me though for a few days until hopefully this feeling passes. I could do peanut butter no toast too. That would be good and not to much of a bother to make. Never in my life did I think I would come to a time where I did not want or care to eat LOL. This must be a different kind of depression or something. Well whatever it is, it is. I cannot wait to try my new DVD tomorrow. emoticon

Cheers all,

Linda
