I was injured after a tennis match back on Oct 24. I had no symptoms till I woke up on the 26th and both my knees were so swollen I had to wear sweat pants because my jeans wouldn't go up over the swelling. Then my right ankle starting hurting a day later. I ended up with tiny menicus tears in my right knee and ankle impingement syndrome in my right ankle. To top if off, I was clenching my teeth during my sleep due to the pain and tore the ligaments in my TMJ. So I now have therapy on the knee/ankle and the jaw. Plus I wear a mouth splint 24/7.
I just got the OK today from my therapist to start walking on the treadmill and doing some line jumps. It is so exciting to be doing something to get me back on the tennis court.
Not being able to do much exercising has also caused a weight gain. But I'm back on track, and working on the weight loss as I add more exercises. I hope to be back on the court the first week in Feb. For someone who has not been injured, this has been a real challenge.
