Well, the last two months have not been pretty. Since vacation things have been stressful at work and stressful at home. I can't say I've even been "trying" lately. I've re-gained about 15 pounds.
A coworker and I have discussed that our weightloss and exercise are things we can control in our lives right now with everything that's going on at work... today I'm going to take steps to take back that control.
I'm resetting my Striiv to get my motivation back to get my 10,000 steps in each day. I'll head to the gym this morning before going to work. I'm going to start tracking my food.
Back to work!
For my own personal record, here are my Striiv stats since I last reset it on May 11th:
379 Water Donations
Average per day -
Steps: 10,013 avg
Stairs: 1,358 avg (I climbed the Eiffel Tower - 1,665 stairs - every day for 100 days)
Miles: 4.5 avg
Calories: 1,489 avg
Minutes: 163 avg
Running: 26 steps (no couch to 5k here)
Energy: 365,769 avg
Personal Bests -
Energy: 63.2M; 365,769 avg; 1,072,394 pb
Didn't stick with it.
But 2014 is a new year!
Just so I have a record since I reset it:
25 Polio Donations

Heading out the door shortly for a whirlwind 8 day, 7 night driving vacation to Yellowstone, Salt Lake City, Bryce, Zion, the Grand Canyon and Los Vegas!
Who is going? My boys, my sister, our mom and me.
The trip started out as a quick trip to Salt Lake City so that I could do a volksmarch (non-competitive walk) in my 49th state - Utah! Soon expanded into a 3000 mile road-trip. Ah, togetherness.
What is the lone state I will be missing after this trip? Wisconsin.
Bye for now.

Finished climbing Mt. Everest for 5th time on Sunday - 193,525 stairs. I had already done my Eiffel Tower climb in the morning when I realized I needed less than 500 stairs to make it to the top of Mt. Everest for the 5th time. So, back to the stairs I went. No picture yet, but I realized I haven't posted my picture from finishing the 4th time on July 22nd, so here it is:
Here's a picture from the first time - May 27th - that shows the stairs that I usually climb:
18 steps, about 6" high, up and down and up and down and... about 90 flights to get to the top of the Eiffel Tower.
Sunday was also my 93rd day climbing the Eiffel Tower and 133rd day of my 10+ minute exercise streak.
Since May 11th when I reset my Striiv for the Spring Into Summer Challenge, I have:
- walked 1,210416 steps (12,932 is my daily average)
- climbed 195,218 stairs (2,082 is my daily average)
- covered 550.9 miles (5.8 average)
- burned 178,0003 calories (1,901 calories average in a day)
and moved 17,923 minutes (191 minutes avg)

Today was my 53rd day in a row of climbing the Eiffel Tower. I've climbed 116,424 stairs during the Spring Into Summer 5% Challenge which began May 11th.
Today I also finished climbing Mt. Everest for the 3rd time - 116,115 stairs.
My sister has also started climbing stairs and she texted me this morning that for the first time she made it up 20 floors without stopping - twice! Yeah Dina!
For the 93rd day in a row I've exercised at least 10 minutes a day. (60 minutes climbing stairs this morning.)
My average number of stairs a day is 2,206 - though my goal is to just get to the top of the Eiffel Tower each day - 1,655 stairs.
I'm also averaging 6.1 miles and 13,463 steps a day... some really high mileage days have skewed this average up higher than I really typically do in a day.
Well, I best get back to work. This is my busy time of year... but I'm making time for me every day.
