Healthy Life

Friday, May 18, 2012

I am working hard on a healthy life. I am walking a mile every day. This is huge since I have such bad knees. I am eating smaller portions and healthier choices. I am still craving sweets. It is a choice and I am proud I have done it for a month. emoticon

One Solid Week Down

Monday, April 23, 2012

I have went one solid week with a new life style change. I was discourage with not seeing weight loss at first but then decided to go back to the basics on this site. I started last week and today I have seen a few pounds shed away. It was fun. I am still getting cravings and think of food a lot. I am hoping that this will go away with time or I will learn how to deal better with it. I have walked every night for the last 8 nights. It is about a mile but even my breathing seems a pinch better. I am excited for once with the opportunity of getting into a new life style.

emoticonThat's awesome that you're walking every day. I started just by walking around the block. The human body is strange sometimes. Just because we have a calorie deficit each week, doesn't mean we see the same weight loss each week. I have a really good week, followed by a tiny loss the next week, usually. Just keep moving and eating healthy and the results will happen... just maybe not as fast as we want it to!

Congrats on your successes! Speaking from experience and currently going "cold turkey" and struggling myself at the moment I can tell you that as your successes become consistent your food cravings should lessen (can't promise they will go away completely more's the pity) you will gain a certain satisfaction that supersedes the need for your "favourite but shouldn't have too much of food" but in the meantime all you can do is take one day at a time & carry on doing what you did this last week & try to keep tempation out of the way.

If it helps remember you are not alone in your struggles :)

Season of Life

Friday, April 20, 2012

As I go through the challenges of weight loss, I am reminded that this is a small aspect of the world around me. Everyone has to deal with the seasons of life. It could be a new child or a death. I am know the world is connected and so I call upon God to give me the strength when I am feeling overwhelmed.

That is such a healthy perspective. It is also something to remind myself of more often.

Scales

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

I could not find the scales in my house for several days. I asked my husband and he put them in a bathroom that I never use. I am going to weigh myself tomorrow morning and I am very nervous. If the scale as went up, I am going to scream. Why is it so hard to take the pounds off? I am staying under my calories and walking a few times a week. Frustration.

You may be losing inches rather than pounds. I would suggest taking measurements. That is the one thing I regret... not taking measurements from the beginning. I know I have lost inches, especially around my waist, but I kind of wish I had a concrete number to look at.

Actually, try not to stress out about weighing yourself. (I know, easier said than done.) Our body weight fluctuates from all sorts of factors, so I only weigh myself once a week. That way I don't get stressed about day to day changes.

Ok, Ok, Ok

Wednesday, April 04, 2012

I should of listened to my comment from Timothy and not looked at the scale. I was disappointed once again. How do I stop craving sweets. I am not sure if it is in my mind or what. I have never been one to crave food all day but I am. No, I am not pregnant. I am drinking my water, walking, and still nothing. I need to see a few pounds drop and feel really motivated to stop eating the wrong stuff. I watched a video about picking the right food and that you can eat a lot of those. The program wanted $99 and I am not going to pay for any more diet plans. I am trying to stick to this site and find what I need. Today is another start for me to meet my goals. emoticon
