Loving my Body

Tuesday, July 15, 2014

SparkPeople has some pretty great ideas about how we should think about our bodies.

This is one of the best in my opinion!

I love this one! Really it is all about respect for ourselves.

And this I need to do, because I will always have curves. I'm just hoping that soon they will be a little bit smaller.

Spark on, friends!

Thanks for your great blogs and for posting in Healthy Lifestyle Sparkers back in June. Do keep planning ahead time for doing what you feel is important in your life based upon what you are passionate about. I agree with your choice; if you love your body and care for it accordingly, everything else will follow. Remember that you are special; life tends to favor those who believe in themselves since they can deal with all setbacks and find ways to cope with and overcome them.

If we want to feel better we need to admit and own up to what we think and feel that is not so feel-good and let go of that. When we do we automatically experience what these platitudes are stating. And, it is natural!

Athletic Greatness vs Failure

Monday, July 07, 2014

I may never be a great athlete, but I will not give into the temptation to quit. Today I put off going to the gym in the morning, and thought, I'll just work out at lunch. Well, lunch came and I busied myself with errands, and again missed the workout. So... I went to the gym after work! And I'm glad I did! I got a great workout in, and I'm back at it!

I don't need to be a great athlete, I just want to live a long and healthy life!

A New Month, A Fresh Start

Wednesday, July 02, 2014

That's what I like about a new month. A chance to start fresh! My goal this month is to not eat any fast food for breakfast, and by fast food, I mean McDonalds. This is going to have to be a "one day at a time" thing for me, as I seem to be hooked on the sausage McMuffin. As a replacement, I can make my own easily at home using 100 calorie English muffins and some low fat cheese and ham. I have yogurt here too, and I really like dry cereal. So I have options. emoticon

And again, I will track! Even when not home, I can track. I have a notebook and a pen, so of course, I can do this too.

We are getting ready for a short camp trip this weekend, and I will work hard to make wise choices where my food is concerned.

Have a great 4th of July!

I was a daily sausage McMuffin, or I should say TWO sausage McMuffin gal for months. Once you get past the first few days, you really don't miss them.

Since you are making a healthier version at home, have you thought about making them with turkey sausage patties?

I can relate to being hooked - treated myself to a quarter-pounder whenever possible.
Now they upset my system!

You can overcome McDeath's. Watch a few movies about how animals are raised and slaughtered. McDeath's then takes that meat and sells it as food. It should be against the law. It certainly isn't consumable and it's far from nutritional.

A Blog a Day in June!

Monday, June 30, 2014

Well, I set a little goal for this month, and I did it! I posted 30 blogs for June. Granted, some are better than others, but I am glad that I was able to be successful in this. Most days I enjoyed the task, and a few days not so much. Every day I enjoyed the comments. Thank you friends for your support.

As I stated yesterday, I will continue to blog, but probably won't do it every day. And for June, I leave you with these wonderful words by e.e. cummings:

And from Robin Williams, which I find fitting for this website:

Happiness

Sunday, June 29, 2014

I know that being thinner will not make me happy. I actually am quite happy now. I have a nice home and a good husband. I don't have any children, but I have many nieces and nephews. My friends and family accept me for the person I am on the inside.

However, I know I will be happier if I lose some weight. I know what I have to do to do it, too! So I try to do something each day towards that goal.

On another note, a blog a day in June is over! I will still blog on a regular basis, but not everyday. We have some mini vacations planned, and we usually go where there is no internet access. I will continue to track my food and workout at least 15 minutes a day.

Thanks to the many Sparkers who have stopped by my blog this month. I have enjoyed all your comments!

Being thinner will never make us happy. Letting go of interference TO being happy will. And it will no matter what weight we are at.

You're right! Weight loss itself as far as how it changes appearance goes will not foster happiness in the real sense. For me anyhow, it's FEELING better, FEELING healthy, FEELING like I can do the things I have to and want to do that brings me happiness.

You know we're here for you so just check in when you can. I myself haven't blogged much either because life is busy. We all have to find that balance that works for us.

Do enjoy your mini-vacations. It's so good to take a break! Recharge.

HUGS and let's finish off June with a bang!
