WOW! I actually did an 11 miler over the weekend. The weather was great for running, but the roads were still icey and/or slushy in some areas. My route was an out and back and then a loop; so, i went over a essection of the road three times. The first pass, it was all ice and I had to walk carefully. The second pass some of the ice melted where the tires tracks were and I was able to have steady footing but it was muddy. The third pass ( about 2 hours and 15 minutes later) I was amazed at how much of the ice and snow had melted.

It's been awhile since I blogged. I have been busy with school work. February is the month the Dairy Queeens reopen for the season here. I found myself going by and getting that peanut buster parfait again and again and again.
Then I started thinking of the cost. One of those parfaits costs the same as a bag of apples. Now, it is back to the "I can't afford to eat healthy" argument. One apple will satisfy my hunger and in that bag, I'll get a lot more opportunity to have another one for a lot less calories.
No excuses! Just like the Biggest Loser theme this season, I am going to start a personal challenge with no excuses and give myself no excuse to eating junk food. Since my environment is full of temptation, I am going to start with a one week challenge.

I am doing well on my half marathin training. I went back to school and had a bout of eating whatever and whenever -- woke up and said enough of that! I managed to get through yesterday without eating sugary junk food. Also, thanks to my granddaughter (age 9) who did the no junk food challenge we started in January, I managed to not buy a bag of candy. As I was looking at a marked down package of Snickers, she told me, "You not suppose to eat that, grandma."
