Finally!!!!

Wednesday, September 25, 2013

I made 350!!!! I can now weigh on my balance scale without adding the extra weight to make it go over 350!!!!!

And another thing I accidentally discovered yesterday – I can cross my legs! I actually put my foot on top of my opposite knee. I haven’t been able to do that in years!!!! Figured it out in the Doctors office when I was trying to put my sock back on! LOL - Kept doing it at home and making my husband come look and see! LOL. Now I can actually do the last stretch in Coach Nicole’s resistance band video!

I hope you are all well and I want to send an extra thank you for all of your support. I always try to respond to each of you individually, but I may miss someone someday so please know that every note, comment, goodie and good wishes are highly prized and appreciated by me!

I lovwe how your next thought was "now I can do that thing on Coach Nicole's video", what a great affirmation. (And I am probably not stretching too much in guessing that it is a tremendous mental shift from when you started.)

Congratulations on hitting a milestone and on the leg crossing! I am a bit jealous as I can not cross my legs. Seems to be something that I should be able to do, but with bursitis in one hip and the sciatica plus always having "tight" hips, crossing the legs is a no go!

You're doing awesome, keep up the good work!

    Kathy,

Oh how grand the smell of success is!!! I'm right there with you. I was almost to the point, where the doctor's scale wouldn't handle me and my MORBIDLY OBESE body, so I understand where you're coming from. Just to not have to put the big weight to the higher number!!! OH MAN, WHAT A RUSH!!!

So, you're doing something that I'm not able to do, as of yet, which is crossing your legs. Again, what a CUE!!! You deserve every NSV that you've gotten, and every time you conquered that SCALE, TOO!!!

One day, I will be able to cross my legs, and that will be another one of my NSV!!!

emoticon girl, let's go get em!!!

I think a lot of us can relate to not being able to cross our legs (see our feet when we look down, taking stairs SLOWLY because it hurts so much, and a lot of other things) so we can really say a heartfelt congratulations! When I put my socks on I have to grab the bottom of my pants leg and pull my leg up onto my knee, I can't just do it by myself. I have trouble with my shoes too, some of it is because of arthritis though. I recently discovered elastic shoelaces and they're great! They make tie-up shoes into slip-on's but the elastic keeps the shoe from being too loose once they're on.

First day of Fall and goal dang near met!

Sunday, September 22, 2013

Ok – so I didn’t make my summer goal – but I only missed it by ONE POUND!!!!!! I lost 35 instead of 36 pounds since summer started. YYYYYAAAAAAHHHHHOOOOO!!!!!!!
emoticon emoticon emoticon

It’s also been 7 months today since I quit smoking!!!!!!!
emoticon

The equinox brings autumn on September 22, 2013 at 4:44 P.M EDT. So actually it is not fall yet as of this posting.
emoticon

It is the summer's great last heat,
It is the fall's first chill: They meet.
–Sarah Morgan Bryan Piatt

Now it is time to make a new goal. I will post this on my page as well. My next big goal is to get to 100 pounds lost. I would like to do this by the end of the year. So this is my New Years Eve Goal. As of today I have lost 75 pounds. I need to lose 25 more to make this goal. This is less than I had to lose for my summer goal so I fully believe this is doable.
emoticon

Happy Fall Ya’ll

I have started walk away the pounds but won't be doing any today as my legs are still tired. I must have really worked them more than I thought at the Y earlier. I will also lmake a goal for the new years eve. I will make it that I will also lose 25 lbs by then. Here is to you and I will follow your lead emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Not Sure!

Tuesday, September 17, 2013

Ok – now how many of you saw that title and thought of the movie Idiocracy!? LOL

Anyway – I’m not sure I’m going to reach my first goal of 350 by summers end. That is only 5 more days away and I have 4 more pounds to go…I may do it…just not sure. BUT here is what I am sure of. I WILL reach 350 soon and then beyond. And I will CELEBRATE! As soon as I reach 350 I will set a new goal on my page (besides the black truck goal of not touching the steering wheel). Not sure about that either. Don’t want to make it unreasonable, but I don’t want to make it too easy either. I like a challenge.

For the next few days I’m not going to do anything different. I don’t want to sabotage my progress for a day or two on a goal. So I will stay on plan and stay on my workout schedule, plus drink all my water every day.

Wish me luck! I don’t think luck plays any real part in getting healthy, because I know the weight will come off if I stick to plan…the luck will involve it coming off before Sunday! LOL

Thank you all for the well wishes while I was in the hospital!

Doctor said it was stress induced chest wall pain and that there is nothing wrong with my heart!

So...while I was in the hospital, Daddy started a new round of chemo. He is doing pretty good with it. Hubby James had to have a small cyst cut out of his back yesterday. I should have been with him, and feel guilty that I was not. But I was still in the hospital when he had the appointment. He is a little under the weather this morning. (numbing medicine always seems to make him sick for a day or so)

On the bright side - I lost another pound! whhoooo hhoooo!!!!

emoticon

Oh - and another NSV that happened the day before I went into the hospital. My knee brace no longer fits! It is too big!!!! Had to order a new one in a smaller size.

emoticon

Bye till next time - Hugs to all!

So glad you are back home! I'm sure it was big relief to know that nothing is wrong with your heart. I've had chest pain before from non-heart related things, and it's scary when you don't know for sure.

Not glad to hear that "stress" caused your problem, but sure glad there is nothing wrong with your heart. Now it's time to try to limit your stress, and you know exercise can help with that.

Great NSV for you. I think you are doing such a fantastic job. emoticon emoticon

Like hearing that your brace needs replacing.... all these victories.
My scale was nice to me also. . . it was .4 but in the right direction.

Sounds great, glad your home, glad hubby made it through cyst removal on his own, okay. Sounds like your dad is handling chemo, with his head held high. You hang in there, there is a lot on your plate right now (not talking about a lot of food) but know you knew that. lol

Well since I mentioned plate, I am using a bread and butter plate for meals that don't require a bowl. This feels good to me, as my large plates are quite heavy. I am planning on cooking several things at once today. I took advantage of the BOGO free, so I have 2 sirloin tip roast to prepare and since I packed my slow cooker will be using the oven. So will also cook baked sweet potatoes, onions and mushrooms, flaxseed bread, and possible one or two more meats to cook ahead and portion and freeze and use when needed.

Wishing you a wonderful week, we can do this!
Hugs
Linda

emoticon and prayers for you, that God already took care of everything and you'll just end up getting a checkup.

The only thing that you should really remember about the stress test, is that when they have you walking on that treadmill, DON'T LOOK DOWN!!! They want you to stare straight ahead at what ever is in front of you, as it alters the test, if you put your head down. I had a hard time with that, as I was always reading while I was on the treadmill, which made my head go down, and each time I did that they would HOLLER, "Look straight ahead!!!" I know that you're A OK and everything is in divine order!!!

Be blessed,

- Nancy Jean -
