Procrastination. Putting off until tomorrow what you could do today. Is there a more counterproductive habit around? It causes more stress and anxiety than the Grinch in December. Procrastination solves nothing and usually makes things worse. It piles up unfinished business that lurks in and preoccupies the dark corners of your brain. You hope the pile will disappear, but for some reason it doesn't. The worst part is that once we put off things we'd rather not do, we start to delay the fun stuff as well. How many times have you said "no" to an opportunity because you had to take care of something you put off earlier? How many lost opportunities can you accept? Let's make action a habit instead. Tomorrow, focus on your toughest hurdle first. Get just that one thing out of the way and enjoy the rest of the day. Be firm and don't let yourself off the hook. After all, it's not going away. Follow that one strategy and you'll be surprised how the momentum carries through the rest of the day. Do it now!!

This is one thing that I am exteremly guilty of! I am one of the worlds best procrastinators! I am always putting stuff off until the last minute. And I know better! I know how good it feels to just get up and get it done. Why do I keep doing this to myself? We have been in our house for 6 months now, and still do not have stuff up on the walls. Because I keep putting it off. I will do it later, now is not a good time, and the bare walls really do not look that bad, with the fresh paint and the beautiful colors that I picked.

And now I guess it really will not get done until after the holidays, because it is soon time to put up the Christmas decorations. We will be starting that in a week. Hard to believe that there is only 45 days left of this year!

So hehehe, I guess I will be putting it off a little longer!

I am so glad however, that I have chosen to stop procrastinating about getting healthy. I feel so much better already, and it is only going to get better! So I will probably continue to procrastinate on the other stuff, but I will jump up and get my exercising done, when I say that I am going to do it!!!

I am also a procrastinator. I have a messy house to prove it! :-( However, I am glad that we did not procrastinate about making healthy changes in our lives for good health. I exercise first thing in the morning in group exercise classes, so I can't put that off. 2007 is the year we started this journey, and we will continue our efforts in 2008!

Ok, It has been a little over a week since I have posted a blog entry, and I really have not been as good as I could be during this time. I have attempted to make good choices, and even while I was not making good choices, I was focusing on portion control.

Since the weather has gotten colder, I really have gotten un-motivated. I do not feel like exercising, I just want to cuddle under the blankets and watch movies. This week did not help either. I had some dental work done on Tuesday, and I really need to be careful until it is healed, so I really have not done any exercising this week except for bowling on Sunday night. And since my mouth is bothering me, it is just making me miserable. Hopefully by the weekend, this will fill better, and I will feel like exercising again.

The good news was that I did not gain any thing last week, I just stayed the same. I think that once my body adjusts to the weather change, I will be fine. Just need to get to feeling better so I can concentrate on exercising again.

I just need to get motivated again!

Sorry that your mouth has been bothering you. I hope you will feel better soon and will be able to resume exercising again. It's nice to see some results on the scale, but not gaining weight over Halloween is an accomplishment in itself. In terms of getting motivated, I find that once I get moving, it does get easier. Sometimes I think Nikes has the right attitude of "Just do it". If you aim to just exercise for 10 minutes, you may find that you'll keep going after the initial 10 minutes. I know you'll get motivated soon and will keep making progress! :-)

Congratulations on your 6.5 pounds weight loss in October! You have done very well for the month! November will be a challenging month for me because there will be all sorts of Thanksgiving treats. I will stay focused but allow myself a few holiday indulgences. I know you will do well with your November goals! :-)

Wow, what a weekend that we had. Friday, I got up, got the daughter on the bus to school, and hubby and son left with his parents to go to Rehoboth ahead of us. So, what do I do with a free day? I take a nap! I ended up sleeping until 3:15, and we are leaving at 4:00 for Rehoboth! Oh my! Oh Well, I managed to get everything done and out the door by 4:05! Trip down was uneventful, but rainy.

Saturday morning we got up, and it was still raining. So we headed over to the Sea Witch Festival anyway. Even with the rainy start, there were a lot of people walking around. There were umbrellas everywhere. They had moved some of the stuff inside, so we walked around and the kids painted some ceramics, made some monsters and just had a lot of fun looking around. They still had the parade going on, it did stop raining for a couple of minutes, then it started raining again. By the time it really started, we were inside eating lunch. After lunch, we walked around a little more, then went back to the house so the little boy could lay down and take a nap before the evening activities started.

The afternoon was so much better, the rain dried up and the sun came out. The kids looked so cute in their costumes! So we went back over and the kids went trick or treating, then they watched a magic show, and then they watched Spooky Spats. He is an entertainer. We really enjoyed the shows. By the time that we got back to the house, it was around 10:15. Daughter had to get into the shower because she had to get the purple hairspray out of her hair!

Then on Sunday, we went back over to the boardwalk. The vendors who were not out on Saturday due to the rain, were out. So we looked around at the vendors that we missed. The kids got to go down on the beach, they were having some games that were rescheduled from Saturday due to the rain, and they joined in them. Then we went up to where they had a guy making balloons, and he made this balloon that was a monkey in a palm tree holding a banana. It was really cool! Then off to a treasure hunt! The kids had to follow a treasure map, and go to different stores to get the pieces to the treasure and then go back and put it together. This year they made this really cool necklace. Then of course on the way home, we had to stop at Grotto's pizza and have lunch!

Made it home just in time for me to go bowling! The kids were in bed and asleep by 8:00, which rarely happens. It was a really nice weekend!

I am so glad that you and your family had such a fabulous weekend! That's why fall is my favorite season, and this is my favorite time of the year. All the major holidays are still ahead of us, and there are so many activities going on in the community. Tomorrow night there is a Halloween party at my gym in the late afternoon, and I look forward to attending. They are advertising free body fat check as a "scary" activity. Well, I know I am scared to do it, but my curiosity may get the better of me anyway! LOL Thanks for sharing your family's fun with your SP friends. I hope you'll have a great week and a very happy Halloween!

Wow, what another busy day turned out to be! I had so much to do, and I actually got most of it done! My daughter let me know Tuesday night that her Halloween costume from last year was too small, and that she wanted to be a vampiress again this year. Well, since she told me that as she was going to bed, there was nothing that I could do about it Tues night. Wed I worked all day, I work 10 hour shifts, so not much else gets done the days I work. And luckily for her, I was off today!

Well, you guessed it, I spent the day running around to get her costume together, since tonight was Trick or Treat here! Since I had to pick up my son at my parents house, I went shopping down by her house instead of driving all the way back to the area that I live to go shopping. I went by 4 different stores trying to find a vampiress costume for her. At the 4th store I decided that if I did not find one there, she would just have to deal with what mom picked out! Well, I did not find what she wanted, but I did find this really cool Gothic Sorcoress custome for her. It is black and purple velvet type material. And she actually liked it!!! I could not believe it. I thought that when she got home from school and saw that I did not have a vampiress costume for her that she would throw a totally fit on me, and she didn't. Woohoo, score one for mom, LOL!!

But then the drama starts. I also picked out new shoes for her, because none of her dress shoes fit, and she didn't have any in black. So I showed her the shoes, she liked them too by the way, and she goes to try them on. It turns out that the box that I had picked up had one right 6.5 shoe and one right 8.5 shoe in it. OMG!!! It is 4:00pm and trick or treat starts at 6:00pm. So of course as soon as I found out what happened, I was out the door to go back to the store that I bought them at, which was a half hour away. When I started out, I called my friend to tell her what happened, and she said to me, not to go the store where I bought them at, but to go to the one that is closer to us. Thanks goodness one of us was thinking, saved me a lot of time, and the store that was close to us let me do the exchange there!

So then we go out trick or treating, walked a lot, even jogged a little to keep up with the little one, he kept taking off on me! The kids got a lot of candy. All in all it was a good day. I only ate 3 fun size pieces of candy. I had a lot of exercise today, and stayed within my calorie range.

What a busy but fun day for you and the kids! You did well with minimizing the number of pieces of candies you had. Also, you really did a lot of walking keeping up with your kids! I can imagine how fast your kids were walking to get to as many houses as possible. LOL You are such a good mom, trying so hard to get your daughter's costume just right... I'm sure that one day your daughter will think back fondly on this Halloween not of all the candies she got from trick or treating, but of the loving mother who went out of her way to ensure she had a wonderful time. She is indeed one fortunate little girl... :-)
