PedalPusher (Linda) picked me up around 8 am this morning, and off we went to City Island for the 5K. Got there by 8:40, parked, checked in and took our goodies back the car.
They did a group warm up, which was a line dance, and everyone was getting into it. Then we were off. One lap around City Island, then cross the bridge to Riverside park, walked down Front street, then headed down to the walkway right beside the river. Then back across the bridge to the finish line. We could not have asked for a better day for this walk. It was just a little chilly, but perfect walking weather. We crossed the finish line in just under 41 min.
When we got there, we ran into someone I knew, so we stood talking to them for a while. My shirt helped break the ice, I was wearing my Spark t-shirt. And Linda and I told them that is how we met, and that we meet monthly for breakfast and a walk. Some of them had heard about the site, and are using it, some of them never heard of it before. I had some of the business cards along, and I was able to give one out! Woohoo!!!
After the walk, there was some amazing food, we sampled a little of everything! They also had some entertainment, one group sang, and there were 2 groups that danced. Very entertaining.
Linda and I will be doing another 5K in June for the Children's Miracle Network! Can't wait!

I have been so busy lately, that I have not been able to be on here as much as I would like to be. I have been able to stop in every day, but have not been able to log much time on.
Just some of the stuff that has been happening.
My daughter qualified for states in bowling. She will be bowling on May 15! I am so excited for her. All she has to do is do what she did in districts, and she will do well.
She was also in a talent show at the school on Friday night, and she did an awesome job! All the kids did!
I have been getting out and walking more. I missed walking outside over the winter, and have been able to get out and walk at least 3 times a week for the last 2 weeks!!! Woohoo!!!
I have also been working on helping get the garden ready for planting. We usually plant around Mother's day, so that the fear of frost is gone. We were very successful last year, and are going to try planting some veggies that we have not tried before.
Today was my great aunt and uncle's 60th wedding anniversary party. It was great. Unfortunately, since they live 2 hours away, we don't get to see them as often as we should, and the last couple of years, we have only seen them at funerals and family reunions. It was so nice to see everyone for a happy occasion. Still didn't get to spend a lot of time with them today, but the time we did get to spend was great. My great grandparents on this side died before I was born, and they had some great pictures of them that I never saw before. Also, stories were shared about them that I never heard before too. It was great!
I did well eating. They had small sandwich rolls, so I had a small sandwich with lots of fruit and veggies to go with it. I had a piece of cake that was 2 bites big, and I only ate a small taste of the icing. I am not a big icing fan anyway, so that is what I usually do anyway.
Only had about 2 hours that I was able to spend with them, but the time spent was great. I really need to make more of an attempt to see them more often. They are all getting so old, I don't know how long they will be around. But they are still very active and getting around great.
I do check in everyday, so if you need something from me, just send me a sparkmail or put a comment on my sparkpage. These are the things I check first when I get on.
Hope you all are doing well!
Keep up the great work!
You can do it!

The kids were a part of the church service, they lead the Palms procession and played insturments during the service. They had to be at both services, but were able to leave when they were finished with the 2nd service. So between services, they had a breakfast, and after breakfast, I decided to go for a walk. It was a little over 2 miles, and I did it in 34 min! Woohoo! I got back to the church by the time the kids were done with the 2nd sevice.
Afterward, we went home, and I went back to bed, LOL! Got up around 3, and then we went out to eat. Then to bowling. I didn't do really good, but we still had fun!
My computer at home is acting up, so I have been running scans to figure out why. I am going to back it up and then start messing with it to see if I can get it to run better. Thank goodness, I can access Sparks at work!
Have a great week all!

This week has gone by way too fast!
Update on how my daughter did in the bowling tournament. She ended up placing 13th in districts, so now it is on to states! Woohoo!!! I am waiting for my SIL to give me the information so I know when she is supposed to bowl. It will be the weekend of May 14-16th and it is in Allentown. At least we don't have to travel all the way to Pittsburg for it! Although, after she qualified for this, she tells me that she doesn't think that she is going to bowl next year. Maybe after having the summer off, she will change her mind.
I got my bedroom cleaned this week, so 1 more room to go! I am hoping that I will get it done next week, but I don't know. It seems to be the catch all room (which is why I am waited to do it last, LOL) So lots of decluttering to be done in this room. I am really going to push to get it done next week, but if it takes me longer then that, I will be ok with it.
We are doing great on the 5% challenge as a team! I think that as the weather is getting warmer, everybody is getting more motivated to get it done! I know that I have been enjoying some walks outside, the weather has been perfect for them!
Camping season starts in 4 weeks! I have been getting stuff ready, and took April 17th off work, so that I could enjoy the first weekend of camping season! There is always so much to do! Lots of raking and cleaning to get the campsite and camper ready for the season.
Tuesday night, I was at the PTO meeting and they were talking about the 5th grade promotion ceremony. OMG! I cannot believe it, my daughter will be going to the middle school next year. She was just in Kindergarten last year, wasn't she? She is just getting so big and beautiful! Lots of things going on. She has us running pretty much everyday for the next 2 weeks because of the talent show, girl scouts, bowling and church.
My son was so excited this week, he was able to finally get out and fly the kite he got for Christmas. My hubby was out with him flying, and my hubby called laughing. The kite he has is an eagle, and my hubby said that a hawk was watching the kite, and then swooped down and tried to attack it! It scared my son a little, and he finally told me about it this morning. He said that he has to watch for the hawk so it can't get his kite! LOL!
