emoticon I have been off track all week. this morning I got up in a good mood and ready to hit the pavement. walked to the capital & back in 14 mins this morning & that is with concurring the big hill, I cut my time by 2 mins from the last time I walked it. I am so ready for the race for the cure on October 4..

HOPING TO SAY GOODBYE TO THE 250'S

I'M GOING DOWN ONE LIL POUND AT A TIME. I HOPE SOON I CAN SAY GOODBYE TO THE 250'S. I HAVE LOST 16 LIL POUNDS SO FAR AND HOPR TO KEEP ON. I AM STILL EATING HEALTHY AND WALKING EVERYDAY. I WAS HAPPY THAT LEE WALKED WITH ME 2 DAYS THIS WEEK ALSO. IT WAS NICE GOING TO THE TWO RIVERS BRIDGE AND WALKING THE TRAILS FRIDAY WITH HIM. WE WALKED 2 MILES THAT DAY, SUNDAY WE WALKED ON SANDY GAP AND WALKED 3 MILES. FELT GOOD AFTERWARDS. WHEN WE GOT BACK HOME I TOOK THE DOGS FOR A MILE WALK.

how to prepare for a race

i have a race coming up on oct 4 2014, I am having a hard time getting ready for it. well I don't know if that is the right term I'm looking for. I have been walking for 2 mos now, I am having problems with walking faster and longer, I can walk a mile and then it's like I don't want to do another mile, the race I'm doing is a 3K I am doing this with a friend and she has been walking a lot longer then I have and already has one race under her belt. I don't want to hold her back on her time but I really want to do this and I want to do the whole race. how can I go about doing this so that im ready and don't hold her back?

    Just keep training. Keep walking. Maybe throw in a few days of a walk and jog combo. The more you walk the better your body becomes at it. Adrenaline will also help you out on event day as will fans to cheer everyone on. YOU CAN DO IT!
